The empty space, Feeling the feels without drowning in alcohol

The empty space, Feeling the feels without drowning in alcohol

Today I share what I've been struggling with on a personal level. I share my experience of Las Vegas as a Sober person and having compassion for the homeless community, as well as the stress of grieving without numbing the pain with alcohol. My drinking problem began because I refused to feel the sadness and grieve my sisters death. July 3 is her Birthday and is always a little hard for me. If you've lost someone in your life you know the hardest days are birthdays and anniversaries. This is a little different format and definitely my own struggles. I share this so that women can see it's ok to admit we are not ok. We all struggle from time to time and saying it out loud is more helpful than trying to push through it alone.
