Finding Yourself With The Wrong Person | DSS09

Finding Yourself With The Wrong Person | DSS09

Ah, if we would only trust our instincts! Have you ever found yourself “knowing” something is true when others are telling you your instincts are totally wrong?  It’s crazy making.  Multiply the stress times 1,000 when the person telling you you are wrong is your significant other.

On Air Radio Announcer, and Aussie Stephanie Halamantaris shares her experience of dating and being engaged to “the wrong person”. In this episode of Desperately Seeking Self, Stephanie talks with host Brooke Collins about her painful experience of being betrayed by a lover, dealing with distrusting her instincts, being manipulated and ultimately finding her strength and leaving that relationship behind.

Join Stephanie and Brooke as they discuss the power of setting and respecting boundaries, growing and learning through painful experiences, and becoming comfortable in healthy loving relationships.

Quotes:

  • “You have two choices.  You can either stay and forget about it or you can leave.” (31:50-32:00)
  • “I now see how from this horrible experience, I’m so grateful for it. To the point where I want to send them flowers!”  (39:38-39:45)
  • “When you are with someone who is steady and calm, and who truly appreciates you.  There is no better feeling or monetary amount that I could put on what that does for your soul and what it does for your confidence to know someone is in your corner.” (55:00-55:20)
