Meet Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD)

Are you overwhelmed and pressured by the stress of selling your products or service? Does selling feel like learning a new language in a foreign country with hostile natives? Are you just plain exhausted and ready to give up because of all the tasks involved in managing and growing a fledgling business? Believe me! I know exactly what it is like. Call me Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia, MD). As a forensic pathologist and a Certified Life and Weight Loss Coach, I knew nothing about selling. I decided to become a life coach because I was influenced by the many deaths, I saw that might have been prevented if people were taught how to manage their emotions. I wanted to help people struggling with the overwhelming demands of their daily life. I learned powerful tools by becoming a life coach that allowed me to lose 30 pounds and keep it off, create a new career path, and improve my relationship with my husband and other family members. But I did not realize that selling and telling people about my business were also part of the process. Poor communication skills, fear of rejection, lack of confidence, lack of persistence — I struggled with all of it, and my sales slumped because of it. My poor sales skills were costing me the life of my dreams. But that changed when I learned about the BANK® personality system and sales training. I learned how to understand and communicate with each new prospect and customer in their code.  My confidence in selling increased dramatically. I no longer feared rejection and truly enjoyed meeting new people and sharing how my coaching services could help them in multiple facets of their life. I look forward to sharing how learning about the BANK® personality system can change not only your life but the lives of all those with whom you come in contact. My life purpose and promise are to share these same powerful tools with as many people as possible so that they can raise a standard and connect with their higher purpose and mission.

Meet Professor P

Hello there! Who do you know that has a Ph.D. in LIFE? Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer). These days, I spend most of my time focusing on two of the three businesses I co-own with my wife, Zelda. Since being sidelined by mold toxicity, my primary concerns deal with the day-to-day operations that come with running a podcast and YouTube channel while still finding time to continue to grow our business and life coaching operation and somehow help out with real estate issues derived from our short-term rental, house flipping and private money lending ventures. Even though I come from a blue-collar background, I never took my eyes off my long-term goal of becoming financially free. Not long after graduating high school, I made a decision I consider to be one of my top five best: joining the U. S. Air Force. Serving as an airman at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, NV, and being on active duty for four years, I was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant. From there, I spent the next twenty-five years working as an HVAC installer in the commercial construction industry, where I rose to job site foreman. This experience added valuable leadership, communication, and decision-making skills to my growing list of attributes that serve me well in this next and most fulfilling chapter. Realizing that the trades are a younger man's game and that I am growing older, I set my sites on real estate investing, focusing almost exclusively on house flipping and private money lending. Unfortunately, because of mold toxicity, I had to give up the day-to-day operations of house flipping and concentrate mainly on joint ventures, private money lending, and managing short-term rentals with my wife, Zelda.  However, this allows me time to focus on my passion and purpose - creating a lasting legacy. My legacy is built upon a solid foundation and driven by overcoming multiple adversities, which fuel my passion for helping others. The hardships I overcame are the building blocks I use to assist me in helping others overcome their challenges. In recent years, I credit getting to know myself better and better as the secret sauce to my success in helping my clients, as well as the listeners and viewers of the podcast and YouTube channel, to create and live the life of their dreams. I am a lifelong learner who believes the best is yet to come. I continuously move forward with a childlike curiosity, excited about what tomorrow will bring! Stay tuned!

Howard Brown:

Hello, it's Howard Brown. It's the Shining Brightly

Howard Brown:

Show. I'm so glad you're here with us today. I've got some

Howard Brown:

good friends that we're going to talk to you today. And it's

Howard Brown:

Professor P and Dr. Z. Welcome. Welcome. How are you?

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:00:19

Great. Thanks for having us. Yeah.

Howard Brown:

Oh, my goodness, look at the smile on Dr. Z. I

Howard Brown:

just it's contagious. It's just unbelievable. So, alright, I'm

Howard Brown:

going to try something different today. Instead of reading your

Howard Brown:

bios, which you both have great bios, I'm going to play a game

Howard Brown:

called, he said, she said, and you're going to basically give

Howard Brown:

the bios of each other. So definitely you were first.

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

Sure, sure. So Professor P. Patrick.

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

He was born in Milwaukee. And he is the middle son of he has two

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

brothers and a younger sister. And something about Professor P,

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

you may not know is he has a PhD in adversity.

Howard Brown:

That got a PhD there. All right, Professor.

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:01:08

Dr. Z has two brothers and a sister.

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:01:12

Fun fact. Her father is African. And her mother is African

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:01:18

American. And she loves to say, being a forensic pathologist.

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:01:24

She loves to say that she transitioned because she came a

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:01:28

life coach. She transitioned from death into life.

Howard Brown:

Incredible. Oh my god. Well, welcome. I'm so

Howard Brown:

excited. We've got some so much to talk about here. But I gotta

Howard Brown:

now that you just actually did those intros. I have it. How did

Howard Brown:

you guys meet? Because now that now man, I got my the guests,

Howard Brown:

the audience is going to want to how did you guys meet?

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

Can I ask you one thing? I do have

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

three brothers. Actually, I do have another brother.

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:01:56

I'm sorry. everybody forgot about

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:01:58

the half brother.

Howard Brown:

Let me reintroduce you to maybe you should meet.

Howard Brown:

Alright, so tell. I mean, I'm curious. How did you guys meet?

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

All right. So I'm a doctor. But back

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

in 2005, I said, You know what, I want to get involved in real

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

estate. I wanted to become a real estate investor. So I

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

bought some rental properties. But I also joined our local real

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

estate group. And that is actually how I met Patrick. So I

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

always say Join your local real estate group, you'll get a house

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

and you might just get a spouse.

Howard Brown:

I love that. All right. That's an awesome story.

Howard Brown:

The other thing I think that we talked about in the green room

Howard Brown:

is you guys are learning German together. Yeah, yeah. How are

Howard Brown:

we? How are we doing with that? Seamless? Good, very

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:02:49

good very well.

Howard Brown:

All right. So from from real estate, and from a

Howard Brown:

doctor forensics. Life coach helped me connect the dots for

Howard Brown:

me, give me that journey.

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

Oh, man. Well, Howard, you know, the

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

work that I did I do. I still work as a forensic pathologist.

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

And and it was really unfortunate around 2015 or so we

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

started to see the rise of these overdose deaths, heroin, and now

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

fentanyl. And unfortunately, it was mostly younger people. I

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

work in one of the wealthiest I think it's the wealthiest County

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

in Wisconsin. And you had all of these young people who had all

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

this privilege, right? We're making these life and death

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

decisions to use drugs. And so that inspired me to actually

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

write a book called Zombie effect. And because of that,

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

obviously, I was ended the line, the buck stops here. So I wanted

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

to work. It's something where I could help to prevent people

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

from winding up on my autopsy table. And that's how I got into

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

life coaching, helping to actually help people make a

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

decision for life, instead of a decision that could potentially

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

take the life that they have.

Howard Brown:

Now will will include the link to the book

Howard Brown:

that's on the effects in the show notes and on the posts and

Howard Brown:

stuff like that. And Professor P for you for real estate

Howard Brown:

entrepreneurism. How'd you get to life coaching.

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:04:23

Yeah, so I Howard, I was many years in

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:04:27

the trades, and eventually I got older, I got downsized. I'm

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:04:31

like, Okay, what am I going to do now? I didn't want to be

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:04:34

driving Uber the rest of my life and I always had an interest in

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:04:37

real estate. And that's how we met fast forward to 2009. And it

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:04:43

took a year we were going to the same event for a whole year and

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:04:47

never said a word to each other. I've always I've always had an

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:04:54

interest in you know, the stock market investing making money

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:04:58

that entrepreneurial lug that gets in some of us. So I said,

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:05:03

Hey, this is a great next chapter vehicle. I took a

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:05:06

coaching programme locally here in Milwaukee. And I learned and

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:05:10

my back was to the wall, I was highly motivated, I became

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:05:13

successful. At the same time, I started lending my 401k money

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:05:17

that I rolled over my previous job, and I was doing two things.

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:05:20

I was like a bank lender, and a house flipper. And then

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:05:26

eventually, I was shadowing Dr. Z, here's Elda, my wife and

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:05:32

like, hey, there's something to this coaching stuff. So I'm

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:05:35

gonna give it a go. And here we are.

Howard Brown:

I love it. I love it. So so take take us through

Howard Brown:

you've you've launched self care one on one, the masterclass take

Howard Brown:

us deep inside there, because I'm part of your, your network

Howard Brown:

as well. And I'm learning so but take take my audience into what

Howard Brown:

what you've developed.

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

Yeah, so it's a four week programme.

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

So it's pretty intensive, you get two coaches, because the

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

both of us are in it. And it's really the first part is about

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

discovering, really and honing in on who you are, and what

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

matters to you your values. And then everything, your goals,

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

your dreams align with those values. Because when everything

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

aligns with your values, it's so much easier to achieve those

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

goals. And so then we also work on the life wheel in terms of

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

prioritising again, what really matters to you. Because then you

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

make sure that the ladder that you're climbing is actually

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

attached or leaning against the wall that you want to end up

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

with. Because for me to with being a doctor and the whole

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

burnout, I was like, I want I was looking for something more.

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

And then really looking at your mindset. And also studying and

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

getting the correlation between how your thoughts, the way that

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

you're thinking, actually is creating the life that you

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

currently now want to change. But the good thing is that you

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

recognise that your thoughts, once you change your thoughts

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

and align them to your goals, then your thoughts create the

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

life that you are pursuing. So it's really just helping people

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

to get all of those butterflies flying in the same direction.

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

And, and actually the vehicle is self care. So self care is more

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

than just getting massages and going and sitting by the beach

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

all day. That's, that's part of it. But it's also can be so much

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

more. So we're helping people to discover that by tapping into

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

the wellspring of a talents, creativity, skills and resources

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

that are already within them.

Howard Brown:

Well, you know, what I find unique and really

Howard Brown:

impressive is that you do get a twofer. You actually get both of

Howard Brown:

you. And I liked that because you're getting the female

Howard Brown:

perspective and the male perspective whether it's, you

Howard Brown:

know, the women are from Venus, and the men are from Mars, we

Howard Brown:

probably are. But I like that. And I think that it's for

Howard Brown:

individuals as well as you you have couples to in the

Howard Brown:

programme. So I think it's amazing for couples to get

Howard Brown:

aligned, and reconnected as well. So very impressive. Now,

Howard Brown:

you had some big news, you want to share?

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:08:30

Sharing is caring. How are you?

Howard Brown:

Yes, it is.

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

Yeah, so So the cart is open so people

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

can actually now book that one on one that discovery session

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

with us. And then we'll explain more about what's involved. And

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

then they can start start working with us right away. So

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

that's really our big our big reveal. Is that book that

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

discovery session and find out how you can start to really

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

create the life of your dreams.

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:09:01

Yeah, they can do that by going and

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:09:05

joining our self care secrets Facebook group. Yeah, they go to

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:09:09

our website, we'll put like you said, you're gonna put that in

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:09:12

the show notes later. That's the starting point. Or they can

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:09:15

connect with us. We'll talk about that later.

Howard Brown:

Yeah, sure. Sure. So now are these their virtual?

Howard Brown:

Are they zoom classes? Or are they you have some in person

Howard Brown:

locally? No, no,

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

they're there right now. And they're all

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

on online. Right? Yeah. Okay. And

Howard Brown:

and you do private and as well as group or the

Howard Brown:

group.

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

Right now we're doing one on one. But

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

yes, eventually we will move to a to a group model.

Howard Brown:

Okay, well, I think that's really important.

Howard Brown:

So and then you've launched a website and it's self care

Howard Brown:

secrets.com.

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

The website is actually secrets to

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

self care.com.

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:09:54

We couldn't get self care. So

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:09:57

because it was already taken, abusing the hands. Gotta go.

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

Domain gremlins.

Howard Brown:

All right. So it's secrets to to, to self care.

Howard Brown:

Okay, perfect. That's okay. As long as they can search and find

Howard Brown:

you want to make sure I get it right. All right. So I have to

Howard Brown:

say that, you know my story very well, I basically went, you

Howard Brown:

know, went for a second time stage four diagnosis of colon

Howard Brown:

cancer. And I went from cancer to COVID to write the shining

Howard Brown:

brightly book to take people from darkness to light, and live

Howard Brown:

a resilient life with with hope. And one of the things that I'm

Howard Brown:

noticing, and I want your opinions on this is that we're

Howard Brown:

coming out of COVID. And people's lives are changed. You

Howard Brown:

know, we're hybrid from work or not, you know, COVID still

Howard Brown:

around, it's not to get Baxter not. But what I did notice, and

Howard Brown:

I read an article about this is that one of the big things or

Howard Brown:

two big things that came out of COVID were loneliness, and

Howard Brown:

depression. And I just I, you know, I think that people are

Howard Brown:

trying to figure it out. And this is what you This is why,

Howard Brown:

you know, the self care starting there really matters. So any

Howard Brown:

commentary on that?

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:11:14

Yeah, so to give you an idea how it

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:11:16

all came about, for us, we've had adversity we're both cancer

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:11:19

survivors like you, all three of us are in that same fraternity.

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:11:23

My adversities go pretty deep. I had a pancreatic tumour, I

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:11:28

survived that, who does that open heart surgery last year?

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:11:32

And as we're finding our way, with, what do we want to coach,

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:11:36

who do we want to coach, I said, it's a no brainer for us to be

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:11:40

coaching self care, because that's our wheelhouse, one of

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:11:44

our wheelhouse. So that's where, you know, a quick, that's why we

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:11:48

ended up there.

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

Yeah. And one thing I want to talk

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

about is the long the loneliness. So working as a

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

forensic pathologist, I'm seeing that we're increased rates of

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

suicide, increased rates of homicide, unfortunately. And I

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

think there's just that uncertainty. People just are

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

having a hard time managing uncertainty. And I think because

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

in our culture, it's all about control, and being in control

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

and knowing how to, you know, direct and, and be in control of

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

everything. And so to be faced with such an uncertain

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

situation, I think, is what's driving a lot of that. Yeah. So

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:12:25

with that said, Howard, what we're

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:12:26

looking to do our vision is to create a directory within our

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:12:31

secrets to self care.com. People like you who are coaching in

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:12:36

your area, your expertise, we're going to have our goal is to

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:12:41

have a lot of people in that directory so that when people do

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:12:45

come to our Facebook group, and they need a specialist, we've

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:12:49

got an ADHD person, doctor. So we're going to have all these

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:12:53

different people in the directory so that when people

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:12:56

come to the group, we can say, Look, if you've got something

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:12:59

you need to reach out, you need to help with something, you

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:13:01

gotta you go through cancer, talk to Howard. He's gonna he's

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:13:05

got he's lived it twice.

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

Right? And many health care

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

professionals are suffering from burnout. Exactly. The need is so

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

great.

Howard Brown:

Oh, the nursing and healthcare profession is

Howard Brown:

gonna get devastated. the teaching profession, you know,

Howard Brown:

the the first responder profession, it's, I don't know

Howard Brown:

how we're going to recover. I'm worried. I'm worried about that.

Howard Brown:

But I want to resonate, first of all, that I didn't know that

Howard Brown:

this resource directory, oh, my god, that was so important if

Howard Brown:

they come and join the network to be able to be able to what do

Howard Brown:

I do next? Right, who's been vetted by you guys? That

Howard Brown:

actually I can refer them to? Because you're right, I have a

Howard Brown:

zillion cancer resources. It doesn't matter the type of

Howard Brown:

cancer when you get that diagnosis, you have cancer,

Howard Brown:

which I actually and others called we have cancer, because

Howard Brown:

it affects more than you, your caregiver, your families and

Howard Brown:

friends. Is that the ability to what do I do next? Right Do we

Howard Brown:

do live in a digital world and Googling Dr. Google is not the

Howard Brown:

idea because I if I Googled Dr. Google and said I had 44% chance

Howard Brown:

of winning six months. That doesn't help. Doesn't help

Howard Brown:

because only God knows your number. And then the other thing

Howard Brown:

that doctors see what you really want to emphasise If you are

Howard Brown:

uncertain fear, which I actually call darkness, okay, others call

Howard Brown:

it scarcity. You've got to lift up yourself. And it begins with

Howard Brown:

self care equaling self love. Right and began. That's the

Howard Brown:

first stop and I actually did take it a step further, as you

Howard Brown:

both know is that once you actually get on some solid

Howard Brown:

ground yourself, go help others. Right. And this is this is the

Howard Brown:

point that you guys are doing you are in solid ground and you

Howard Brown:

are going to help others and it's so beautiful and you are

Howard Brown:

sharing your light to others and to get them unstuck and back so

Howard Brown:

they can go They live their lives, get everything there, as

Howard Brown:

you said, the life wheel in order. But hopefully they'll

Howard Brown:

take some of that and go share their light with others and in

Howard Brown:

their communities. Because that's, that's really important

Howard Brown:

to carry on and keep the light flowing. As far as at least

Howard Brown:

that's what I tell you in my book. And I know you're an all

Howard Brown:

of us believe in that very, very much. So this is, I think it's

Howard Brown:

going to be fantastic. And I'm just such a big supporter of you

Howard Brown:

guys. We're so aligned. You guys ready to do the shining,

Howard Brown:

brightly moment? One thing, I just wanted to add one thing

Howard Brown:

first, okay.

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:15:34

One thing when I slowed down from

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:15:36

doing the real estate stuff, I was able to get off that mouse

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:15:40

wheel. And I gotta tell you, one thing I noticed was I'm very

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:15:45

analytical. And I noticed how we are all sped up. And once I had

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:15:50

a chance to jump off, I'm like, Oh, my God, that's, I can see

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:15:54

why we're all getting burned out. Because, you know,

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:15:57

corporate world, the world we live in, pushes us to squeeze

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:16:01

out every little thing they can out of everybody. And everybody

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:16:04

comes burnt out, because becomes burnt out or whatever, they have

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:16:07

problems because they've been sped up. And they're not living

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:16:11

that life that they truly want to live.

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

And you talked about raising your

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

own boat, you know, by your now you didn't say bootstraps, but

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

it really is about community. And the more that we can reach

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

out, because many people need that support and don't aren't

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

comfortable even asking for support. So actually reaching

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

out and offering support and just letting people know that

Dr. Z (aka Zelda Okia MD):

you are available to help.

Howard Brown:

I want to tell you a quick secret. So I will do the

Howard Brown:

shining brightly moment upcoming. But I, one of the

Howard Brown:

things I was I was coaching. And this woman was saying that. I

Howard Brown:

don't know if I'm I'm doing gratitude, right. And it was

Howard Brown:

really funny. And I said, Well, are you being kind each day?

Howard Brown:

Yes. Are you giving person? Yes. Are you trying to heal yourself

Howard Brown:

and others? Yes. So I said, you're doing gratitude pretty

Howard Brown:

well. I said, you're not you know, you're doing it pretty

Howard Brown:

well. And I want one of the things that I use as a technique

Howard Brown:

is that I love that when you're stuck. If you go help someone

Howard Brown:

else, right and toward them, go buy them a cup of coffee, take a

Howard Brown:

walk with them, bring them a meal or a smoothie, you're

Howard Brown:

taking the pressure off yourself, and the endorphins

Howard Brown:

light up in a whole different way. A whole different

Howard Brown:

vibration, right? That actually can help you because people are

Howard Brown:

it's a messy world. It's noisy. There's a lot of negativity and

Howard Brown:

being a discipline. I call this mental toughness to weed out the

Howard Brown:

negativity. That's a discipline. Okay, I mean, we can get all

Howard Brown:

consumed in this indictment, we can get all consumed in the war

Howard Brown:

and Ukraine and school shootings. And you gotta be able

Howard Brown:

to put up that that Rhino skin and say, Listen, I'll taste it a

Howard Brown:

little bit. But I don't want a full meal of it. There's no

Howard Brown:

reason to take in a full meal and have it consume you. There's

Howard Brown:

just more important things to do. So yeah,

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:18:02

you just described the gratitude.

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:18:04

We'll see you create your own gratitude.

Howard Brown:

We'll exactly, but no, but gratitude. And so one of

Howard Brown:

the things that the last chapter might book Patrick, which you're

Howard Brown:

a big promoter and fan as well, is that there's a four letter

Howard Brown:

word out there that got me through the worst of times. And

Howard Brown:

it's H O P E, Hope. Hope hope was my fuel to see my daughter

Howard Brown:

graduate high school, see your graduate college, see her be a

Howard Brown:

TV reporter in Missoula, Montana every night on the app, and also

Howard Brown:

to be able to get my butt on the basketball court and to

Howard Brown:

celebrate my 29th wedding anniversary with Lisa which we

Howard Brown:

did on Monday. Great memories and milestones hope hope is that

Howard Brown:

fuel for me and so I what is what is your fuel?

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:18:54

It's funny that you mentioned hope

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:18:55

because I just posted about hope on the self care secrets

Like Nice. So, purpose leads to

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:20:40

fulfilment. It's interesting before we started this coaching

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:20:43

journey, a couple years into our relationship, I said this, Ella,

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:20:47

I could see she wasn't happy. I'm like, What are you

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:20:50

passionate about? What's your purpose? What do you what do you

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:20:53

really want to do? I love to ask this question. What would you do

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:20:56

that you love to do so much? That you would do it for free?

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:21:00

And last comment. We're in legacy make a difference mode.

Professor P (aka Patrick Scherer) 00:21:05

I'm getting chills just saying this stuff. That's it.

Howard Brown:

moment. Alright, so for me, you can reach me at shining
