Steph Belcher has combined the music and creativity that run through her soul with an incredible knack for numbers and a gift for communication to become a powerful educator and one the Midwestern USA’s most sought after music business managers. Motherhood helped Steph understand the power and joy of caring for others while a fierce independence and the abilities of a persuasive leader have allowed her to unlock artists’ potential to overcome their fears, find profit, and magnify their message.

About the Guest:

With an incredible knack for numbers and a gift for communication, Steph Belcher is one of Michigan's most sought-after business managers.

She has an innate ability to interpret and translate the complex world of financial management, economics, and taxes for emerging and established creatives. Ms. Belcher became fluent in the language of financial management after spending nearly two decades working in artist management, booking, promotions, and marketing. She’s also served as a financial educator, marketing and economics entrepreneur, and small business tax preparer.

“My goal is to remove financial roadblocks, so artists are free to create. I am proud to be a go-to collaborator for musicians, artists, and other creative people who need help with budgeting, tax planning, and business set-up. I love educating my clients about their financial situation, because it allows me to combine emerging music, financial management, and economics while connecting with people and helping more music get made,” she said.

Ms. Belcher is currently preparing to launch a business management course that teaches musicians, managers, agents, and bookkeepers the intricacies of the music business. She also teaches Self-Employment Skills and leads the Music Industry Studies Club at DIME Detroit, where she is the MIS Area Coordinator. She prepares tax returns at the Livonia CPA firm Cole Newton and Duran, CPA's and is the treasurer of the Women's Council for Art - Michigan.
