Overcoming Fears And Telling Your Story

Overcoming Fears And Telling Your Story

Fears can hold us back in life, and overcoming those fears can seem like a monumental process. Today’s episode features a woman who has faced her fears and written a book about the process.

Lynda Sunshine West is a true inspiration, having learned profound lessons about herself and fear throughout her journey. In fact, she believes that nothing truly happens inside our comfort zones and encourages all of us to step outside of it. She even coined the saying "do it because you're scared" to motivate us to face our fears head-on.

Lynda has a remarkable story to share. Having been in the corporate world for 36 years and holding 49 jobs, she navigated her way through life focusing on survival rather than a specific career choice. Her first marriage was to an abusive alcoholic, reminiscent of her own father, but she found the strength to leave that toxic situation with two young children in tow, walking away without even a car to her name.

In 2015, Lynda wrote a powerful book titled "The Year of Fears," documenting her journey of breaking through 365 fears in just one year. This pivotal accomplishment led her to embark on a new path, collaborating on various book projects and delving into the world of publishing. But it didn't stop there. Lynda's quest to discover her true self and explore her creativity led her to make a dramatic career change, leaving a successful but unfulfilling legal job behind to become a publisher.

Throughout this episode, Lynda shares invaluable insights on facing fears, making bold decisions, and the transformative power of sharing our stories. As we delve into her experiences, you'll discover the profound impact that faith and strong support networks can have on overcoming fear.
