Let’s talk about clarity. To be an effective leader, you must be able to be clear about the expectations that you have of people. It’s also important that you’re clear with yourself and manage your own expectations. Clarity is simply a way in which you can ensure your ability to serve effectively. Today we’re going to talk about why clarity is so important for the success of your business and how understanding the historical context of your organization is one of the main catalysts in fostering that clarity that your team desperately needs.

🔑 Clarity is dependent on your ability to understand the historical context of people’s behavior and actions.

🔑 One of the five biggest mistakes that leaders make in managing and retaining their dream team is failing to manage expectations.

🔑 When you listen, people are going to tell you what their real motivation is. They’re going to tell you what their real objective is.

You have two questions to ask yourself this week:

1.         What are the things you can do in terms of how you are guiding people and talking to people about the thing you want to accomplish? Are your words clear?

 

2.         Are you managing your expectations around acceptance, speed, and capability, based on the learning you had when you were gaining clarity in the beginning?
