About our Guest:
Born in Weslaco, Texas), Jason Ray Perez is a self-taught, He is a mixed-media and pyrography artist. His artistic styles range from modern contemporary expressionism to traditional Mexican pyrography folk art.
Perez made his introductory as an artist in 2009, his own first solo art exhibit titled “Only in Dreams”. He has participated in numerous group exhibits throughout the state of Texas, nationally, and internationally, including three gallery level solo exhibits titled “Alas De Mis Angeles” (2011), “Illicit Visions” (2013), and “LACONISM” (2016). In 2017 several of Perez’ artworks were recognized by State of Texas Representative Terry Canales and are currently exhibited at the State Capital in Austin, Texas.
Perez has been dubbed as “The Patron Saint of Valley art”, has curated countless exhibits for many reputable visual artists, and is considered to be a major “socialite” amongst the Rio Grande Valley’s art and entertainment scene.
He has been the curator of galleries and is the art director of several establishments in located in McAllen’s Art District, where he exhibits his artwork and hosts exhibits for local and visiting artists.
