Creating calm in uncertain times

Stress is rampant today, even though there are proven and effective ways to reduce our stress! In fact there are natural and easy ways to reduce our stress now. 

Neuro linguistics programming or N.L.P. offers us many different ways to empower our mind and reduce our stress, here are a few tools you can use today. 

By knowing a little bit about how our mind works, we can engage in stress relief processes that naturally help. For example, cognitive functions take place in the neocortex, so we can effectively shift away from feelings by performing a cognitive function. Reading, writing, arithmetic. And this is why the action of live journal works. Not only does is settle us into our front brain, immediately reducing our stress, but it allows us to understand our feelings better by writing them down. What else it does is bring awareness to our signature language. The twelve words we use everyday to describe almost everything we do. Are these words that we repeat all day long empowering? Often not, in fact these same words drive our behavior!

That means that our experience of the world is a direct reflection of these words and this creates the experience we are having today. Change the words change the experience!

The other important factor regarding stress is understanding that our emotions create the physiology connected with worry. Imagine inside your mind the concept of worry. 

If you were to close your eyes (as long as you are not driving) and imagine the emotion of worry. what shape would it have, color, texture, temperature. How big is this vision? Is it flat or three dimensional, does it have a beat, rhythm, vibration? Is it moving in a certain direction, or is there a sound, buzz, ring? What about an sweet, sour or bitter odor, any odor at all? Can you taste it? Imagine everything about this emotion, and then change it!

Change the color to you favorite color, make the shape bigger or smaller, stretch or shrink the size and alter its' direction. Meaning if it is moving left, move it to the right. Up, then move it downward. Change the direction it is moving. If it has a sound change it to your favorite music. And then test your emotional state. How do you feel now? Typically better or repeat!

Finally, we understand that gratitude matters. When we already know that our mind naturally dislikes, change, uncertainty and loss. We can shift into gratitude. Being grateful for micro-wins, Micro uplifting changes, the tiniest thing we are certain of, the air we breath, the food on our table, that we have a table!
