Eclipse and Woman in the Moon | LAYC53

Eclipse and Woman in the Moon | LAYC53

Perhaps it’s because I’m older – in what some call the second half or the final third of my life, I was inspired to get out of bed at 3:30 am, bundle up against a chilly, damp November pre-morning and hurry outside to find a viewing spot for the total lunar eclipse – dubbed the blood beaver moon.

This spectacular celestial event will not occur again until November 2025. I am going to put that one on my calendar too!

I felt like a child, chilled by early winter and thrilled by anticipation; there I stood waiting for Santa Claus to arrive at a night version of a holiday parade.

Alone with my thoughts on the quiet streets, there I was watching transformations take place.

I felt connected to the event, like a woman in the moon, throughout my life, waning, waxing, shadowed, brilliant, and sometimes feeling unseen.

Taking time to reflect under the stars and moon, and watch the sunrise is healing and uplifting for me.

Walking, meditating, and renewing my gratitude for being part of this Universe is a privilege.

How often do you look up and recharge yourself?

Speaker:

Hello!

Speaker:

I'm really glad you're here, because I'm just dying to share

Speaker:

something that happened this morning that was unique, and special, and

Speaker:

won't often happen in my life...

Speaker:

or even in anybody else's.

Speaker:

And it's that rare time of being in the right place in perspective, on this

Speaker:

planet, to witness a full lunar eclipse.

Speaker:

I went out, just before 4:00 AM, to a dark, clear,

Speaker:

glorious sky, laden with stars.

Speaker:

I'm fortunate to live in an area with not too many

Speaker:

streetlights or city lights, so...

Speaker:

The intensity of the stars is still quite vivid.

Speaker:

And there was the moon!

Speaker:

In all its round, golden, glory.

Speaker:

But shortly thereafter, the shadow of the earth started to pass over

Speaker:

the moon, because of the perfect alignment of the sun, our planet, and

Speaker:

the moon and that shadow started to nibble away at that beautiful golden

Speaker:

orb until it was just a red, sort of shadowy shape hanging in the sky.

Speaker:

It became quite a bit darker in those moments without the

Speaker:

illumination of moon light.

Speaker:

And I was, I confess...

Speaker:

I started to wax a little philosophically about how that experience mirrored

Speaker:

some of the cycles of my life.

Speaker:

Shall I say, I was thinking about how I am the woman in the moon at times.

Speaker:

I do go through cycles of change and being all of me to being less of me,

Speaker:

less visible, shall I say to the world.

Speaker:

If that wasn't enough to give you pause, to think about life, and representations

Speaker:

of these solar and celestial events.

Speaker:

I then was able to go for a sunrise walk shortly after.

Speaker:

If you listen to some of my earlier episodes...

Speaker:

You know I'm a morning person, and I like to get up and walk early as often

Speaker:

as I can, and witness the sunrise...

Speaker:

To remind me that no matter how dark the proceeding time may have

Speaker:

been, or how I felt it alone...

Speaker:

Every single day, the sun rises, and is brilliant, and warms everyone...

Speaker:

And so can I.

Speaker:

On my return hwalk home, after celebrating that beautiful sunrise...

Speaker:

I was listening to a podcast, which I was listening in on a conversation

Speaker:

between the host and his guest, about a rather life changing event...

Speaker:

Which it really turned him around...

Speaker:

From thinking about ending his life, to really having a full zest for his life.

Speaker:

He shared what was going through his mind at the moment of...

Speaker:

Where he might possibly die because of this event..

Speaker:

That he received a message that made him question...

Speaker:

At the end of his life...

Speaker:

Would he be able to answer the questions:

Speaker:

Did I live?

Speaker:

Did I love?

Speaker:

Did I matter?

Speaker:

That really had a great impact on me...

Speaker:

Just thinking about how three very, very short sentences.

Speaker:

Sum up for me how important it is to know our purpose, and to live our legacy.

Speaker:

And no matter what we have to do to keep stumbling forward in

Speaker:

life, to figure out what that is..

Speaker:

And becoming more of ourselves, so that we accomplish it.

Speaker:

That is what we should do...

Speaker:

Not to live with regrets, and find that we've run out of time to answer

Speaker:

those three questions satisfactorily.

Speaker:

It's also why I've created the tool called Live Your Eulogy..

Speaker:

Which is a guided journaling process, thought process, around thinking about

Speaker:

the things that really do matter.

Speaker:

As he said in the question...

Speaker:

Did I live?, Did I love?, Did I matter?

Speaker:

If you're not fully satisfied with the answers right now, the good thing is..

Speaker:

You still have time.

Speaker:

No matter what your age...

Speaker:

What your personal circumstances are at this moment.

Speaker:

No matter what your resources.

Speaker:

If you don't feel satisfied, if you don't like who you are, where

Speaker:

you are, what you are doing..

Speaker:

You have time to change...

Speaker:

Never too late my friends.

Speaker:

Remember, you're not starting from scratch...

Speaker:

You're starting from experience.

Speaker:

As I continue on with this podcast..

Speaker:

That's what I'm doing too.

Speaker:

I've been listening to podcasts, and learning tools and thought processes,

Speaker:

and gathering resources for myself...

Speaker:

To help me really live the legacy that I want.

Speaker:

To feel that I'm not alone on this journey and to gather

Speaker:

around me, people like yourself..

Speaker:

That are saying...

Speaker:

I'm not done yet.

Speaker:

I'm not expired.

Speaker:

I am not anywhere near my capabilities, or the level of

Speaker:

passion that I have for my life.

Speaker:

I'm one and a half years roughly into this podcast, about 50 episodes.

Speaker:

Everyday I learn as I share with you.

Speaker:

I learn when you comment and give me feedback on your experiences and your

Speaker:

thoughts around the topics we have.

Speaker:

You give me suggestions for where to learn more about how to become the best

Speaker:

of me, and live the best of my life.

Speaker:

Get out there, whether you're looking at the stars, or you're

Speaker:

looking at the sunrise...

Speaker:

Make sure that you look up, and that you have a big vision...

Speaker:

An expanding vision for your life.

Speaker:

I'll see you back here soon.

Speaker:

P.S.

Speaker:

Just in case you have any doubt about just how valuable you already are,

Speaker:

and the richness that you are, based on your life experience to date.

Speaker:

I would hlove it if you took stock of just how much you have

Speaker:

accumulated throughout your lifetime in the form of assets based on you.

Speaker:

Yes, you are the gem.

Speaker:

You are the richness.

Speaker:

There are many ways that you've continued to accumulate and

Speaker:

add to that valuable commodity.

Speaker:

Let me know what you discover.

Speaker:

What other ways there are to remind us that we have so much

Speaker:

to give, and that we continue to appreciate and compound in our value.
