Do you have any friends who seem to take risks and yet things always work out for them? There is a good chance these people are being guided by their inner wisdom. To the outside world, these individuals may appear to just be extremely lucky. The truth is, that luck favors those who are bold enough to listen to their inner wisdom. I say bold because what is involved in following this internal guidance is a willingness to step into the unknown, and most people fear taking that step. In this episode, I share three tips that will help you embrace a new belief that the best is yet to come so you can more confidently step into the unknown and create more “luck" in your life.

If you're looking for more clarity in your life, clarity of purpose, or how to activate that purpose, and you are someone who wants to operate from your highest self to be a force for good, you know this world craves, then this is the show for you. I'm Anita Adams, your host and guide to finding clarity and creating a life you love. Let's tap into our inner wisdom, access our highest self, and unleash joy. As we do this, we raise our vibration and heightened the collective consciousness. And that, my friend, is the joyful journey. Let's dive in. Hey, joyful journey are Anita Adams here, your host and today we're going to talk about stepping into the unknown with the belief that the best is yet to come. If you've been following any of my teachings, you understand that my key message is that you must tune in and listen to your inner wisdom. If you want to find true happiness and create the best possible life for yourself. There are three types of people in the world, those who are not tuned in to their inner wisdom, they can't hear it or feel it. Those who do hear it, but do not take action on the direction given and those who hear it, trust it and allow themselves to be guided by it. You likely know people in each category. Do you have any friends who seem to take risks, and yet things always work out for them, there is a good chance they're being guided by their inner wisdom. They may not call it inner wisdom, they may tell you they had a hunch about something, or they just understood what they needed to do and can't really explain it. To the outside world, these individuals may appear to be extremely lucky. The truth is, luck favors those who are bold enough to listen to their inner wisdom. I say bold because what is involved in following the direction of your inner wisdom is a willingness to step into the unknown. And most people, even those who hear the guidance of their heart, fear taking that step. Most people want to see the path clearly ahead of them before they take action and move forward. Although I am someone who was guided by inner wisdom, I well understand that fear of the unknown, as I've been there often and again, find myself at the edge of the abyss getting ready to take the leap. In January 2023, my husband and I are giving up our seaside home that we have been renting on beautiful Bowen Island for the past two years, and moving to Portugal for six months. Although I'm mostly really excited about this new adventure, there is an element of fear that hovers under the surface about the uncertainty of it all. We are letting go of something really awesome, namely a beautiful and affordable oceanfront home that is close to all of our friends and family and trading that in for the unknown. Living in a new home. We haven't even found yet in a community where we don't know a single soul. And in a country where we don't speak the language. And we have no idea where we'll land when we returned to Canada. Why on earth? Would we do that? Why would we let go of something so good, and risk never being able to have it so good again, because we understand that when you lean in to the calling of your heart, and we do feel called to go to Portugal, it will always bring you to where you are meant to be and ultimately lead you to the grandest version of your life.
Anita Adams:Although I am confident that this move to Portugal is the right next step for Tom and me. I also realized that this journey will come with discomfort, frustration, and probably tears probably a lot of tears. And yet into the unknown we go because I understand from multiple experiences that when you lean in and trust the whispers of your heart, it moves you into the flow of the universe and things work out better than you can have ever imagined. We experienced this 10 years ago when my husband and I listened to the calling of our heart and packed up the family and move to France for a year. There was a huge amount of fear and uncertainty around that, including the uncertainty about our marriage as we were working through some difficult stuff at the time, I figured this trip would either make us or break us. Fortunately, it made us and life got really good. Then three years ago, we stepped into uncertainty again, when I closed my business of 18 years, and we got rid of all of our possessions and turned nomadic, that was scary, or tears were had, and life got even better than it had been before. And here we are, again, stepping into the unknown by letting go of so much that is great in our life, and moving to another country. leaning in and trusting, letting go of what we know. And stepping into the unknown has gotten easier, because we've come to understand that the best is yet to come. I remember when we returned from France thinking, I just saw the end of the best time in my life, how could it possibly get any better than that? And then it did, it got better. And every time we leaned in and listened to the whispers of our heart, life has gotten better and better. Now my mantra is the best is yet to come. And this is an attitude I would like to encourage you to adopt, the best is yet to come. If you took on this new belief, how do you think that would change things for you when you are facing uncertainty. If you truly believe that the best is yet to come, and you lean in and listen to your inner wisdom, you would be able to let go of the things and the people that are holding you back with more ease. Maybe you would take action so you could quit that job that makes you miserable. Maybe you'd find the courage to leave that abusive relationship. Maybe you would lean into the dream of starting your own business with more confidence. It's your belief that things can't possibly be better on the other side that prevents you from stepping into the unknown, of letting go of what you have, even if what you have isn't so good. And if what you do have is already really good, then you cling even tighter because you were holding on to this false belief that it couldn't possibly get better. What I want you to understand is that it does get better when you lean in and trust your inner voice of wisdom that is trying to guide you. If you create this new belief for yourself, one that tells you that the best is yet to come. And it's easier to take that step into the unknown. I've got three tips that I want to share with you that will help you create this new belief so you can take that step into the unknown, with more confidence. First, get crystal clear on what it is that you want. And make sure you understand why it's important. Pull back the layers and keep asking why? Why do I want this? Ask yourself Do I really want this and listen to what bubbles up. Number two, identify the fears that are preventing you from taking action. When you name the fears, you diminish them and it's easier to pull them apart. Most people don't fear what's on the other side. They fear what's involved with getting there. They fear all the things they have to let go of including the belief that they are not enough because that belief keeps them firmly planted in their comfort zone. And the fear of the discomfort they will experience along the journey is a big reason that keeps many from listening to their inner wisdom and taking action. By identifying those fears. You can dismantle them or at least diminish them so they hold less power over you and three, journal journal about the future version of you the person you will be in the life you will have on the other side and write about that person and that life in the present tense using im statements. I talk about this journaling practice in more detail in Episode 13. If you need a refresher about how to do this effectively go back and listen to that episode. Journaling in this specific way is incredibly powerful and it will boost your confidence so you can begin to take action. Alright to quickly recap those three steps that will help you embrace this belief that the best is yet to come. So you can step into the unknown and take action are get clear on what it is you want and why it matters. Identify your fears so you can deconstruct them and journal about the future version of you in the present tense using I am statements in closing, I want you to understand one more thing. It's in the unknown, where you get to lean up against the edges of who you think you are, and stretch and discover that your boundaries are far wider than you ever imagined. As you stretch yourself in this way, you begin to learn who you really are and your confidence grows, your sense of love for self expands. And with that, life truly does get better and better. In fact, one could argue that it's because of this self growth and expansion that happens from stepping into the unknown, that allows life to keep getting better. And with that in mind, you can truly trust that the best is yet to come. If you are someone who is looking for more support on your journey to your best life as you lean into your purpose with competence and joy, reach out and let's connect. I love to work with you.
