This show is about freedom. Freedom from your constant struggle with food and letting the size of your thighs determine your worth. Join me weekly for no hope back unfiltered girlfriend kind of conversations that will inspire, teach and empower you. As we tune into our own body's wisdom and tune out of the diet industry blinds, we can live our most radiant, pleasurable and fulfilled lives. My name is Chanci Dawn. I'm a non diet nutritionist embodiment and mindset coach. But most importantly, I'm a woman on a mission to grow a deeply connected and conscious relationship with food and my body. And I'm here inviting you to do the same. Let's go.

Chanci Dawn:

Hello, and welcome to tastes like freedom. Oh, my goodness, I actually hit record. Can we please just take a second? And can you celebrate the fact that this podcast is actually happening? My name is Chanci Dawn. And it has literally taken me around four to five years to be in this space where I'm sitting here in my closet, surrounded by all my clothes, recording this podcast for you. I have wanted to do this for so long. And it reminds me so much of when I first got pregnant with my son, Jacob. So I don't know if you've had a baby or not. But I remember when I first conceived, you guys, I wanted a family like I was ready, I wanted to be a mom. Yet. Once I found out I was pregnant, I remember going holy man, you're inside now. And this is really happening. And you actually have to come out somehow. And I remember being both really, really excited, and quite terrified. And that's how I'm feeling about this, it really does feel like I'm birthing something new, something so precious and so important to me. And that's one of the reasons why it's taken so long. Because I want it to be amazing. However, you know, four years later, it's not going to be amazing if I don't hit record. So here I am. And thank you for tuning in. And my goal here my whole desire is to be able to teach you and be the woman who I really needed when I was going through this process. I want to link arms with you, I want to build community with you and other women. So that together we can move forward in freedom from the diet culture as allies, and in that beautiful place of self love, healing that relationship with food in our bodies, so that we ultimately can feel free and can feel empowered to live the lives that we are on this earth to live. And I guarantee you were not put on this earth to be hyper obsessed and consumed with trying to shrink the size of your thighs or trying to make your body small enough, thin enough or whatever enough in order to feel valued. You are so much more than that.

Chanci Dawn:

And this podcast is all about that. Creating and finding freedom together. Okay, so who am I? Well, like I said, my name is Chauncey dawn. And my background is first I was a teacher. And then when I had children, I became very obsessed with losing my baby weight. And as such, I went and studied nutrition, holistic nutrition. And then I became a weight loss coach. And then I found a diet shake company, and I my entire thing on my whole career was trying to learn how to shrink my own body. And then by doing so I was helping other women do the same. And then I had a wake up call. I'm going to talk about this a lot more, you know, in in future episodes, obviously. But I had a wake up call and I literally woke up one day and was like, Screw it. There has to be a better way. There has to be more to life. And I am going to find this and create this for myself and then for other women because I knew I knew that if I discovered the how behind my desire to be set free from the obsession with food and diet and, you know, low body image that I would have to pass this on.

Chanci Dawn:

So here I am, it's not perfect. Of course, this is not a linear process. This is an up and down, this can be quite the roller coaster. And that's another reason why I really want to have this podcast, I really want to speak in to this with you and for you. Because support along this is so essential, because you are good at getting, you know, all of the noise, all of the voice is coming left, right and center saying that you aren't good enough unless you look a certain way unless you can control your food in a certain way unless bla bla bla, bla bla all sorts of lies. So we're going to just come together, and we're going to love ourselves healthy. And this is a journey, I am really here to link arms with you to explore this with you and to teach you what I know to be true. Um, what is it going to look like? Okay, well, my goal is to release a show weekly. And a lot of the episodes are going to just be me sitting here in my closet, chatting away, and sharing tools and tips. And all of these, you know, really liberating concepts and ideas. And like I said, tools that you can actually take away and use in a very practical manner that day. So I will be talking a lot. And I'm really also very excited to bring experts on along with me where we can jam and chat about all of this stuff and where I can learn more. And hopefully, they can learn more. And we can get this message out there.

Chanci Dawn:

One of my very, very favorite episodes that will be coming. I haven't made it yet. But I know it's my favorite. It's where I'm planning on interviewing my 14 year old daughter, her name is Celeste and she is phenomenal. She embodies exactly what I'm speaking on in this podcast, she inspires me daily. And I am so excited to bring her on. And of course, as I said, this is not perfect. This is not linear, she has her ups and downs as well. But, you know, opening this discussion up with her is something that my gosh, I'm so thrilled about, okay, now, just like a baby, just like my little Jacob and Evan and Celeste, of course, I nurture them, I feed them, I love on them, and I guide them, but they are their own little people. And just as they are growing into their own little people, and I get to meet them and discover who they are. That's also what I see this podcast being I definitely have a plan, I definitely have a message. And I am so open to just seeing where it's gonna go and what it's going to grow into.

Chanci Dawn:

So again, you play a role in this, I don't want to just be sitting here by myself, I am so excited for this community with you and that being so I would love for you to connect with me right now. I'm trying to grow my Instagram and having you connect with me on there would be the best way please do so it's it tastes like freedom. And so just look that up and connect with me. Follow me and drop message me any questions you have any thoughts you have any sort of topics that you're really wanting to hear more about and dive into. And I will do my best to do that. And I will answer every message that I receive right now. Because I'm just brand new starting out here with this podcast so I can do that which is really exciting to me. Okay, thank you so much for tuning in. And please share this, please pass this episode on. And please invite the other women in your life who are ready for this freedom, who are ready to grab life by the lady balls and really create the life that they desire and deserve. We are here to do this together. Thank you so so much for joining me and I really look forward to talking with you soon. Take care.
