And I'm here inviting you to do the same. Let's go.

Chanci Dawn:

Hello, lovely. Welcome to today's show. Today, we're going to be talking about what I like to call the 100% rule. And this is a little tool that I created to really help me rock my hard days, you know, the days where you just don't have a lot to give. So I decided to record this show about this, because this is actually something I'm using right now to do this podcast. So I woke up today, full of just cramps and really tired. So today is the first day of my cycle. And I didn't actually track it well, this month, like I usually do. And if you're wanting to learn more about tracking your cycle and the importance of doing so, when it comes to embodiment, and really learning how to take care of yourself, go and listen to episode eight, okay, because I interviewed Tara McKenzie, she is frickin amazing, and it will blow your mind. So this month, I didn't track well. And it actually came as a surprise to me. And I planned to do my podcast today. And it's summer, we're busy. There's all sorts of stuff going on. So it's not something that I could do tomorrow. Okay, so this is what's on the schedule, I want to be consistent for you, it's important to me that I show up every single week for you to be able to have these really important conversations. So I'm implementing this 100% rule. I did have another show planned. But I put that aside. And because this is my goodness, this has really helped me in my self care so much. And of course, self care is really, really important when it comes to embodied eating. Right? This isn't just like, follow this plan. This is a whole holistic way of living, and prioritizing yourself and taking care of yourself at such a high high level that you your brain, your body or soul knows how valuable you are. We always want to come back to that you deserve the best. So today when I woke up, I'm like, okay, okay, body. You are really tired today. Okay, body, you're sore today. Okay, brain, you're a little bit all over the place. And you're feeling a little clumsy today, because these are all things that happened to me during the first day of my bleed. So this is how I'm feeling today. So what I did, and I'm going to, I'm going to explain the 100% rule to you by demonstrating what I did. Okay, so the first thing I did is I realized that I allowed myself to feel what was going on in my body, the sensations that were coming up for her any, any different pain points, I was noticing what my brain was saying about it, just really dropping into her. This is that curiosity part of embodied eating. Okay, so go back. If you haven't, I'm going to always be telling you to go back because I don't want you to miss anything. Okay? So go back and listen to the four pillars. There's four different episodes, about the different pillars of the it tastes like freedom program that I created. Okay? So go back and listen to that because this is really important. And so much of what I'm going to talk to you about today is based on this, the way you do anything is the way you do everything. So when you can really sit into and lean on and really create a beautiful foundation for yourself with these four pillars. You will notice it filtering in into all areas of your life and it will truly change your life and the way you approach yourself and your self care and your self love. Your soul care. Okay, so curiosity, what's going on for you today? So I laid in bed Head, hand on tummy, other on heart center, and I just allowed myself to breathe. I'm doing it right now if you're not watching the video, so what's going on, and I noticed that my back was sore, I noticed that I had some cramping. And I just noticed a general sense of blah running through my body. And with this, instead of going, Oh, shit, today, you have so much to do, you have a podcast, you have to create part of your program, right? All of these different things I have on my schedule that I want to get done, that are really important to me. Instead of going oh, crap, this isn't something you're gonna be able to do and come down on myself for it. I dropped into compassion. So compassion is another pillar of the it tastes like freedom program. Compassion eliminates guilt, it eliminates shame. And it really helps our body relax, it helps your nervous system relax, it helps your helps your body go, Okay, I am supported, I am loved. And I can trust that she that you is going to take care of me. So with this compassion part, as I'm laying there, I gently allowed myself to get up. I had a shower. And again this entire time, I'm just tuning in, where am I at? What do I need right now? Right with this compassion, getting really curious, what do I need right now. So I did my morning routine. And then I had some coffee and breakfast and chatted with my kids and my boyfriend for a bit. And then we actually went to the Minions movie, which Oh, my goodness, if you haven't seen it go it is hilarious. And I just really allowed myself to have a very easy, beautiful, gentle morning. Okay, permission, I gave myself permission permission is another pillar of the embodied eating program. Okay, so now I'm home, I sent everyone away. And this is where the 100% rule comes in. I gave myself permission to just really, really chill out this this morning. And now I'm getting down to work. So before I did, I stopped and asked myself again, how much do you have to give today? Okay, so this is you kind of have to do a little bit of a background investigation on you. What does your 100% feel like? Right? If you're like mid cycle where you are ovulating, and you have energy full of creativity. To me, that is where I feel 100% That is when I'm like woohoo. I can like conquer the world. Okay. And this is actually when I try to record most of my shows, and do most of my work. Didn't work out that way today. Okay, so I'm like, if that's my 100%, if that's the base that I'm comparing this to, where am I at right now? Where am I at today? And today, I'm feeling at about 60% of that 100. And this morning, I was feeling probably about 30 or 40, right? So this morning, when I checked in and I saw that percentage, I'm like, okay, that's why I'm gonna take the morning off and just have fun and chill. Because I want to be able to see where I can feel out where I can be at. I don't expect 100% But I want to take care of myself. So I can show up today to do this show. Okay, so from there, I'm at a 60%. So, the goal here is not to give 100% of my 100% that is expecting too much. That is where we burn out. Okay, this is where we push, push, push, and our body say no, but we have all of these shoulds on ourselves and we just keep pushing. And now this is also a very masculine way of doing things. Okay, so pushing, pushing, pushing, go, go, go, hustle, hustle, hustle. That is not how I want to approach my life or my business. I prefer really in the flow of the feminine, okay, I love to be able to, again really feel what's going on for me honor that be in the flow be magnetic, really choose radiance, to be able to draw what I want towards me, okay, it's not hustle, hustle, hustle. I want to be like, oh, like dancing in the forest. Okay, I'm starting to sound a little woowoo here, but I love this and as soon as I really switched from the hustle masculine more into the feminine way of being in flow and building my business that way, everything just has flowed and felt so much better. We will talk more about the masculine and feminine archetypes and future episodes for sure. Because I love that stuff. Definitely, I think I'll have guests on for that. And get down and dirty with it. Because my goodness, it'll, it's so fun. It's so fun to study and to apply in your life. Okay, so back to this percentage 100% is again on their very best day, okay? On those days giving 100% of your 100% feels like you are just rocking it. And that's great celebrate those days. But days like today for me, are no less wonderful. They're no less valuable, and you are still absolutely enough. Okay, so what we want to do is we want to look at it. And we want to say if I have about 60% of what I usually have, right on my best days, if I have 60% to give, what does 100% of that 60% look like? This is really, really important. Because what we want to do here is we want to give ourselves permission to give that 100% of whatever the percentage is that we have to give that day. This really eliminate that all or none approach, I have a client who was just really all consumed with the all or none. And she kept beating herself up and feeling so much shame. If ever she didn't meet her own high, high high expectations. So this tool has really helped her because when you look at this, what happens is you celebrate the fact that you gave 100% of whatever percentage you had to give that day. And you celebrate that hard, because what really is happening is that you are absolutely giving your 100% you are giving your all even if you wake up and you have like 5% to give. If you give 100% of that 5% You celebrate that you are amazing. Okay, so this is again, a very beautiful, flowing, gentle way to approach things. And the reason we want to celebrate everything that you do here is because your brain thrives when she's feeling successful. Okay, your nervous system really comes down. And if you remember, your brain is constantly looking for evidence of what she already believes to be true. So if you're telling her yes, you are giving 100% Way to go look at you rock this, then she feels successful, and she looks for more evidence of how you are absolutely winning. Okay, and then success breeds more success. So this is actually what's happened with me with this podcast today. So I sat down, I'm like, How much do I have to give? Okay, 60. I'm gonna give 100% of this 60% What does that look like? And now as I'm going in, I'm feeling like I have more than 60% to give. Because my brain is looking for evidence. She's feeling so good about the fact that we're actually sitting down here and recording. So think about this in your own life. Where do you find yourself self sabotaging? On the days that you don't feel that great, okay? Or if something happens if something comes up? Where do you put what's a priority to you? Aside, because you can't give 100% So you get don't give anything. For me. Another example of this is to do with exercise. So my body, obviously, as a human body, she's meant to move as is yours. And exercise is so beneficial and so pleasurable if you let it be okay, but there's been so many times when I'm like, Oh, I'm feeling tired. I'm not going to go to the gym, or oh, you know, I'm a little sore from yesterday. I'm not going to go for my run. Okay, so I know that I feel amazing when I move my body. So this is a priority to me, this is non negotiable, that I incorporate movement into my daily life. So with this instead of if I'm feeling kind of a instead of talking myself out of it, which is really easy to do, instead I go How much do you have to give and then I give that and sometimes that means I'm going for a run. Sometimes that actually means I'm going for a walk around the block and that's it. Or maybe I'll do some push ups on my stairs. Okay, but that is enough and that again, we need to celebrate even when I just do a few push ups on my stairs. I'm like, You are an exerciser. Look at you way to go. And then my brain will look for evidence and create more of that and It will keep me going. And so this is a beautiful way to end self sabotage in your life. It's a gentle way to do it. And it's a very valuable tool. So I really encourage you to utilize it. And let me know definitely DM me, and let me know what your experiences are with this or where you find that you self sabotage and how you can incorporate this to be able to really show up for yourself. Now, one more thing that we absolutely have to mention is the fourth pillar of embodied eating. And that is pleasure. So when you're looking at this and going, how much do I have to give like for me again, 60%. Today? What does 100% of this 60% look like? And how can I make it fun? How can I make it deliciously pleasurable. And today, I brewed myself a great cup of tea, and I had some chocolate, and I sat down here, and I'm feeling really wonderful, and I'm feeling nourished with this tea. Just little things like that can bring so much pleasure. Another thing that I really love to do is I have a playlist on my Spotify that I only play when I'm out for a run, okay, when I'm exercising. So this is like a special little treat that I give myself when I'm going in honoring my body's need for movement. So you can create things like this for yourself in areas where you do see yourself self sabotaging. And it's really like turndown service, right? So if you think about like going to a fancy hotel, and at night when they come in, and they turn down your blankets, and fluff up your pillows and give you a little chocolate, right? So think about that. How can you take care of yourself ahead of time? What do you need to make these things that you really want to accomplish, but that aren't always easy, more and more pleasurable in your life. And like I said before, the way you do anything, is the way you do everything. So this will filter in into all areas, movement, your eating habits, the way you take care of yourself, these goals you have in your life, the way you parent, the way you show up in your relationship, absolutely everything and it is actually a complete game changer. Okay, my friend there is that my 60% my 100% of my 60% a day, because it's one thing to listen to this and to get motivated or encouraged. And it's a complete other thing to go and apply it. And that is where my goal is that everything I talk about on the show is something that you can take away that very day and apply it and to start to see results right away in your life. So again, message me, let me know how this is going for you let me know areas where you do self sabotage and how you can see this working. So a little recap 100% of whatever percentage you have to give that day is still 100% You win, celebrate the heck out of it, incorporate tons of pleasure, and keep moving forward because you deserve to live a wildly free and loving life and this is a tool to help you do that. Okay, my friend, enjoy the rest of your day. Thank you so much for tuning in. And we will talk next week. Take care
