What if it wasn't about resolutions - but an opportunity to reclaim your joy and the magic of who you are.

In this very special New Year’s Eve episode of The New Truth, I’m joined by one of my oldest and dearest friends - we've walked beside each other through every new beginning since I was 19 years old.

Farhad Khan is a world-class yogi, sound bowl healer, entrepreneur extraordinaire and overall magical human - and in this conversation, we drop into something far more powerful than New Year’s resolutions.

You will learn:

  1. Why 2026 is a potent energetic reset — not just another year
  2. How to consciously close cycles instead of dragging them forward
  3. The difference between forcing goals and allowing magic
  4. Nervous system regulation, embodiment, and why your body must feel safe to receive more
  5. The spiritual AND practical foundations of creating a truly aligned life
  6. What it actually means to live in devotion to your truth

This episode is grounding, expansive, deeply loving and so real- and the perfect way to cross the threshold into a new year with intention, clarity, and an open heart.

If you’re ready to stop surviving and start receiving

If you’re calling in more ease, pleasure, love, purpose, and magic…

This conversation is your invitation.

He has worked with various sound healers over the years and continues to offer his transformative services to elevate spirits and support healing. Having personally battled anxiety and depression, Farhad shares tools and practices from his own journey, aiming to offer peace, empowerment, and joy to all those who attend his teachings. His mission is to elevate the spirit through sound and experiential journeys.

Additionally, I’ve created the Farhad Khan Wellness line, a collection of therapeutic, all-natural, cruelty-free products crafted without synthetics and infused with the healing vibrations of crystal sound frequencies. Farhad Khan:

Because those mistakes or failures are

Farhad Khan:

beautiful. Lessons and teachings and learnings don't take you to

Farhad Khan:

the next thing. So try not to be so fearful. Be more playful.

Farhad Khan:

Have more fun. Don't think take things so seriously anymore.

Farhad Khan:

Life is short, and at the end of the day, you have a choice. You

Farhad Khan:

could be in fear and let it hold you back and restrict you, okay,

Farhad Khan:

if that's really what you want, and your heart's desire is that,

Farhad Khan:

or what is your heart's desire to take that risk, to take and

Farhad Khan:

see and explore and create, be creative. And I'm choosing that

Farhad Khan:

daily and and it's been fun and magical and beautiful. And so

Farhad Khan:

I'm healing the little boy inside of me. I'm working with

Farhad Khan:

all my traumas and all those things that I was now, I say

Farhad Khan:

gifted, and as hard as it is to hear that sometimes, because I

Farhad Khan:

went through some serious traumas and tragedies, so they

Farhad Khan:

were like, what? But it's like, you know, it's part of my path,

Farhad Khan:

and it's brought me to where I am today, and I'm proud of where

Farhad Khan:

I am today and who I am today. You know, I still have hard days

Farhad Khan:

and times, but now I have those tools, and I work through them

Farhad Khan:

and I share them.

Kate Harlow:

Hello, beautiful. I am so freaking excited for you

Kate Harlow:

to hear this week's episode. This is was a long time coming.

Kate Harlow:

I have one of my oldest friends who is literally we've seen each

Kate Harlow:

other through every phase of life since we were 19 years old,

Kate Harlow:

and he is a soulmate, a soul brother, a love and a

Kate Harlow:

extraordinary human who literally everything he touches

Kate Harlow:

turns to gold. He's created so much success in his life, in the

Kate Harlow:

wellness first in the banking industry, but then in the

Kate Harlow:

wellness industry, as a yogi, yoga teacher. Then he opened his

Kate Harlow:

first yoga studio. This is back in like, 2007 and then he, gosh,

Kate Harlow:

he's done, I mean, he talks about all the things on here.

Kate Harlow:

He's a sambal healer, of like, really renowned sambal healer

Kate Harlow:

does international retreats all over the world. Is a meditation

Kate Harlow:

teacher. Is a gem of a human. Has his own Oracle deck, his own

Kate Harlow:

wellness line. He's just created so much magic in his life. And

Kate Harlow:

so I thought there was nobody on planet earth I would rather have

Kate Harlow:

this conversation with about turning up the volume, upping

Kate Harlow:

the ante, and creating a year that is devoted to your path,

Kate Harlow:

your heart, your soul and everything that you've ever

Kate Harlow:

desired. Let's go 2026 enjoy this episode with my beautiful,

Kate Harlow:

beloved Farhad and I, and can't wait to hear what you think.

Kate Harlow:

Spread it to every woman you know who needs a little magic

Kate Harlow:

this year.

Kate Harlow:

Hello, beautiful. I am so pumped for this week's episode. I Happy

Kate Harlow:

almost new year. It is one day before the new if you're

Kate Harlow:

listening to this episode, when it comes out, it is one day

Kate Harlow:

before New Year's Eve. So we're almost at the end of 2025 and I

Kate Harlow:

had to bring out the big guns for this episode, because, I

Kate Harlow:

mean, this is a long time coming. We've talked about

Kate Harlow:

having you on the podcast since I started it. I think I'm

Kate Harlow:

sitting in front of one of my favorite humans on planet Earth,

Kate Harlow:

if not my favorite human on planet Earth, and we're talking

Kate Harlow:

about magic and how to create a magical life. And I feel like

Kate Harlow:

that is what both of us have done since I've known you, we

Kate Harlow:

both have just created so much magic and reinvented ourselves

Kate Harlow:

and been birthed into new versions of ourselves, over and

Kate Harlow:

over and over again. It's been so beautiful to witness your

Kate Harlow:

journey, and I love you. Welcome to the new truth podcast.

Kate Harlow:

Farhad, aka fuzz.

Farhad Khan:

Ah, thank you so much. Thanks for that

Farhad Khan:

introduction, to it's an honor to be on your podcast. Finally,

Farhad Khan:

yay. This is so great. Thanks for having me.

Kate Harlow:

Thanks for coming to the party. This is the

Kate Harlow:

perfect time it feels like for us to do this together. I just

Kate Harlow:

feel like both of us have created a lot of magic as of

Kate Harlow:

late. I mean, like I said, it's been happening for a long time,

Kate Harlow:

but this conversation your most magical year yet. I feel like my

Kate Harlow:

life just keeps getting more and more magical, and I feel the

Kate Harlow:

same is true for you. Would you agree?

Farhad Khan:

I agree? Yeah. I mean, it's always, you know,

Farhad Khan:

I've always, since a young age, I've had so many kind of

Farhad Khan:

hardships in life, and to see me turn things around and make it

Farhad Khan:

magic is like, amazing, because I'm like, I have that choice to

Farhad Khan:

kind of stay in that kind of world of failure and things

Farhad Khan:

aren't going well. And then, you know, I know what that

Farhad Khan:

trajectory could have looked like for me, because I had that

Farhad Khan:

kind of vision around me, with people in my life, my

Farhad Khan:

surrounding environment, and then I'm like, to be able to,

Farhad Khan:

like, choose the other way of being, and then have magic come

Farhad Khan:

from it over and over and over again. And then today, still,

Farhad Khan:

many years later, you know, it's kind of like, it's like a

Farhad Khan:

recipe. It's like, okay, I'm choosing. Magic, and it's a

Farhad Khan:

simple recipe. It's such a simple recipe now that I've

Farhad Khan:

learned how to hone in those skills and remind myself of all

Farhad Khan:

the things to remind myself of, to continue to expand the magic,

Farhad Khan:

you know. So, yeah, it's been amazing. And watching you as

Farhad Khan:

well, like, you know, inspiring individuals in my life. We

Farhad Khan:

inspire each other, so that helps to generate the magic as

Farhad Khan:

well, I think so thank you as well. To you.

Kate Harlow:

So it's so amazing. It's, I love that you said it

Kate Harlow:

simple. It's like it takes practice. I think that's where

Kate Harlow:

people get tripped up. Is they want a quick fix or they want to

Kate Harlow:

instant gratification, and we've really been trained to have

Kate Harlow:

instant gratifications in the Western world. But it's, it is.

Kate Harlow:

It's so freaking simple and what we're talking about, and we'll

Kate Harlow:

of course, dive into all the ways that we that we create

Kate Harlow:

magic, and how our lives are so magical and beautiful and

Kate Harlow:

aligned with who we really are and our souls. We'll share so

Kate Harlow:

much of that today. But I think that, you know, remembering that

Kate Harlow:

it's a I always say this, and I think people are like, Oh, I

Kate Harlow:

just want it to happen and be done, but you would be bored if

Kate Harlow:

you just got to some arrival point. There's always more parts

Kate Harlow:

of ourselves to grow into, and more parts of ourselves to meet.

Kate Harlow:

And it is simple, it's simple, but it's about being really

Kate Harlow:

present and honest with yourself and showing up for yourself over

Kate Harlow:

and over and over again, which I think you've done so

Kate Harlow:

beautifully.

Farhad Khan:

Yeah, you know, and I'm gonna it wasn't always easy,

Farhad Khan:

that's for sure. It was hard, you know, choosing the path of

Farhad Khan:

maybe, for me, it was spirituality more and like

Farhad Khan:

immersing in, like my practices at a younger age, like my yoga,

Farhad Khan:

my meditation and the sound healing, so discipline in that

Farhad Khan:

form of like, I want to commit to something that nurtures my

Farhad Khan:

spirit in a way that I feel Like, okay, like there is so

Farhad Khan:

much chaos around me and the trauma and all the stuff in my

Farhad Khan:

worlds, that I found something that was a disciplinary thing

Farhad Khan:

daily, that helped me stay connected to my body, listen to

Farhad Khan:

my heart, find more clarity in my mind with all the noise. And

Farhad Khan:

I think through that because it was hard, like it was, it's not

Farhad Khan:

an easy thing to do sometimes, because I think a lot of times

Farhad Khan:

we don't put ourselves first. It's like a trained thing with

Farhad Khan:

or untrained ourselves of how to, like, put ourselves first.

Farhad Khan:

And I used to think that was selfish, and then learning,

Farhad Khan:

okay, that's self care. You know, take care of yourself,

Farhad Khan:

because it starts within, and then you can give it out

Farhad Khan:

authentically, right? Because I was always kind of, like

Farhad Khan:

struggling, and I didn't understand exactly why. And then

Farhad Khan:

when I found these practices, I could really internally, move

Farhad Khan:

inward and realize, like, Okay, I need to, like, take care of

Farhad Khan:

myself, my health, my mind, my well being. And then through

Farhad Khan:

that, I start to get more creative and explore and feel

Farhad Khan:

like I can do this and I can take this risk, because why not?

Farhad Khan:

What have I got to lose? And I think the voices of the people

Farhad Khan:

around me who were maybe telling me I couldn't do something, or,

Farhad Khan:

you know, all the kind of negative things to like not

Farhad Khan:

pursue something that was within me, I was kind of like just just

Farhad Khan:

let them say what they want, let them just talk however they want

Farhad Khan:

to talk. But I really learned to kind of build that sort of

Farhad Khan:

boundary and realize in myself, if it's something I really want

Farhad Khan:

and brings me joy, I'm going to do it, because if I don't do it,

Farhad Khan:

I'll always wonder, and if I do it and it fails, let's say, if

Farhad Khan:

there is a failure, it's a lesson, then great. Move on to

Farhad Khan:

the next thing, right? So I really wanted to, like, live my

Farhad Khan:

life. Well, the quote I always would be, like, through my

Farhad Khan:

adversity, I gained strength. And I think that was powerful

Farhad Khan:

because I allowed change in any shape or form, that it came in

Farhad Khan:

good or bad, to be the catalyst of, like, making me stronger.

Farhad Khan:

And I learned more through it, and it brought me to the next

Farhad Khan:

thing. So with that mentality, it was like, there are really no

Farhad Khan:

failures. It's like, just follow your heart if it brings you joy.

Farhad Khan:

It's something you want to do. We only have one life. So like,

Farhad Khan:

live it up, do it and learn from it in your own way that you need

Farhad Khan:

to learn. Like, find the beauty in it. If it didn't go the way

Farhad Khan:

you thought it would go, and if it does, oh my gosh, you just

Farhad Khan:

kind of keep going and building off it and creating more and

Farhad Khan:

more. So yeah, and that's how I kind of work today, too. I just

Farhad Khan:

kind of like, let it flow with that way of being. And it's,

Farhad Khan:

it's definitely worked for me in a lot of ways, that today I can

Farhad Khan:

look back and be like, Okay, I want to share this with other

Farhad Khan:

people. Like, this is amazing. You can you can do it. And there

Farhad Khan:

are going to be moments that aren't easy, but those moments

Farhad Khan:

are like, you're actually living life. And let's learn from these

Farhad Khan:

moments, and let's see where this takes you now or takes us

Farhad Khan:

now, right?

Kate Harlow:

And it's just like, it's just such a fantasy that

Kate Harlow:

life is ever just going to be easy all the time, like, you

Kate Harlow:

guys, come on, look around like us. That's not the human

Kate Harlow:

experience. That's not what we signed up for. Soul, signed up

Kate Harlow:

for the contrasting experience. And like you said, we grow so

Kate Harlow:

much through the contrast. And yet life is guiding us like

Kate Harlow:

there is this heart and this light inside. And when, when

Kate Harlow:

something is aligned, we feel that resonance internally. And

Kate Harlow:

if you follow that, and you're willing to be uncomfortable and

Kate Harlow:

you're willing to to grow through the challenge, there's

Kate Harlow:

so much available to you. And I mean, you've just done that over

Kate Harlow:

and over again, I feel it seems it feels like everything you

Kate Harlow:

touch turns to gold. But I think because everything you devote

Kate Harlow:

yourself to is coming from your heart, and it's coming from

Kate Harlow:

divine guidance, and it's coming from where you're led, and so

Kate Harlow:

that has, I've never thought of this before, but I think with my

Kate Harlow:

journey too, it's like that has energy behind it. I'm picturing

Kate Harlow:

a wave carrying the surfboard, like if you are going in the

Kate Harlow:

direction, you always use the word flow if you're going in the

Kate Harlow:

direction that the wave is the wave of life, aka the universe

Kate Harlow:

life, the the unscripted path, the path that's meant for your

Kate Harlow:

soul, that you're being guided to, when you listen to the

Kate Harlow:

guidance, when we when we're willing to say yes. And even

Kate Harlow:

though it's scary, even though failure could happen, even

Kate Harlow:

though you're gonna have to grow and get uncomfortable and all

Kate Harlow:

those things you get to you ride the wave. That's when life sends

Kate Harlow:

you another one and another one and and watching your journey,

Kate Harlow:

that's what it's like. You just like, you're just on the

Kate Harlow:

surfboard. You're like, woo hoo, and you're in the middle of it.

Kate Harlow:

It's just like, the waves keep getting bigger, and you're like,

Kate Harlow:

let's go. And you just the more you surf, the more confident you

Kate Harlow:

get surfing. I'm totally Have you ever surfed? I'm totally

Kate Harlow:

picturing

Farhad Khan:

I have. I've surfed one time in Hawaii because the

Farhad Khan:

water was nice and warm. And I would probably always lean

Farhad Khan:

towards warm water surfing, and it was fun.

Kate Harlow:

Most people don't even know cold weather surfing

Kate Harlow:

exists. I think only Canadians

Farhad Khan:

know that. Yeah. Tofino, yeah, no. And you said

Farhad Khan:

it beautifully, and yeah, like, sometimes you'll fall off the

Farhad Khan:

surfboard and just get back on it, you know what? I mean, you

Farhad Khan:

buy the big wave, the little waves, you know? And I think

Farhad Khan:

that's the beauty of life, is we have so many things at our

Farhad Khan:

fingertips that we can explore doing. And I don't know. I just

Farhad Khan:

think, like, maybe, you know, taking kind of like a moment to

Farhad Khan:

think of like, like, are you happy in your day to day life?

Farhad Khan:

And what could make you happy? Like, just reading, writing a

Farhad Khan:

little list, and like, what are the things stopping you from

Farhad Khan:

being happy or finding your joy? Like, you know, like, what are

Farhad Khan:

the things like? Because I feel like there's always a solution

Farhad Khan:

that we can figure out a way to kind of work towards that do

Farhad Khan:

what you love, love what you do, sort of concept, because, why

Farhad Khan:

not, right? Like, why not try to move in that direction and take

Farhad Khan:

the little steps it takes, or the big leaps and bounds, like

Farhad Khan:

the ride the big wave or the little waves, until you kind of

Farhad Khan:

cultivate more of that life around you, within you, that can

Farhad Khan:

bring you the things you love to do. And you know life, life is

Farhad Khan:

short. You know we don't know when our last breath is going to

Farhad Khan:

be. And I mean, we've all witnessed that, like majority of

Farhad Khan:

us have seen grief and know that it's precious our time here, and

Farhad Khan:

what we do here is, I think, really important. And one of it

Farhad Khan:

is exactly what you had said, too, is like we've been gifted

Farhad Khan:

the senses, taste, smell, touch, like we can dance, we can eat

Farhad Khan:

amazing food. We can smell beautiful aromas, like we can

Farhad Khan:

experience on a level that's so dynamic and powerful and

Farhad Khan:

beautiful. So let's use that in sharing with ourselves and

Farhad Khan:

others in ways, like for me, you know, moving the body, dancing,

Farhad Khan:

yoga practices, I teach a lot of that, like freestyle movement. I

Farhad Khan:

love music, you know, food, I love cooking and sharing that.

Farhad Khan:

Like, these are all things. I love art, painting and creating,

Farhad Khan:

and it's like, I want to do things that inspire me and bring

Farhad Khan:

me joy, because I will only then offer it to others in such a

Farhad Khan:

way, because it's like, I'm excited, and it's like, I want

Farhad Khan:

to share this, because it's, it's beautiful, and I feel like

Farhad Khan:

it could spark some excitement or inspiration to someone who's

Farhad Khan:

like, Oh, cool. Like, I want to pick up painting again, or I

Farhad Khan:

want to pick up cooking or do that again, or I love that yoga

Farhad Khan:

class that was so fun. I've never done anything like that

Farhad Khan:

before. Like we dance and I. Put on music, and everyone's like,

Farhad Khan:

they did not expect that, but just to throw in, like, get

Farhad Khan:

outside the box, try something new, and you never know. It

Farhad Khan:

might be that spark of the magic that hits you where you're like,

Farhad Khan:

oh my gosh, like, I need to do more dance classes in my life,

Farhad Khan:

or whatever it is, but, like, that's how it starts, and then

Farhad Khan:

it just builds. And keep doing the things that bring you, Joy,

Farhad Khan:

inspiration, excitement inspires you to get up out of bed every

Farhad Khan:

day, because sometimes that's hard, but, like, find those

Farhad Khan:

things, those moments, and I think, yeah, and I think that a

Farhad Khan:

lot of time too. You know, it can start from, like, your

Farhad Khan:

little bit day by day, like a little spiritual practice, you

Farhad Khan:

know, sometimes little meditation or sitting in your

Farhad Khan:

yard or going going for a walk at the ocean. You know little

Farhad Khan:

moments in your day that can let you kind of investigate that

Farhad Khan:

inner knowing or wanting or desire within yourself. And then

Farhad Khan:

it starts to open up those doors.

Kate Harlow:

I love it, yeah, and it feels because your energy

Kate Harlow:

frequency, I'd say it's it's always light, it's Oh. And

Kate Harlow:

you've been through so much, and it yet you have this incredibly

Kate Harlow:

high vibration. And it always feels so joyful to connect with

Kate Harlow:

you. And there's such Lightness of Being. And I think, you know,

Kate Harlow:

so many people are so dense and have really dense energy, but

Kate Harlow:

it's because of where they're hanging out, like if you're

Kate Harlow:

hanging out in the stories in your mind about how much the

Kate Harlow:

world sucks and how everything should be different than it is,

Kate Harlow:

and how you're the worst, and they're the worst, and blame

Kate Harlow:

them. Blame you, whatever. You're gonna feel bad. You know,

Kate Harlow:

if you eat McDonald's every day, you're gonna feel bad if you

Kate Harlow:

like what? What is, what is your life look like? And so I love

Kate Harlow:

that the exploring new like new places, is everything. I'm

Kate Harlow:

living in Kenya, I'm learning Swahili. I've taken five Swahili

Kate Harlow:

classes, and I it is so fun. It Like It's fun. I'm, like,

Kate Harlow:

giggling, and it's playful. And every time I get into an Uber

Kate Harlow:

I'm like, Nina eatwa, Kate, Nina Toka, Canada, Nina recite the

Kate Harlow:

things that I know and and it creates connection everywhere I

Kate Harlow:

go. And it's just like, playful light thing. And it's something

Kate Harlow:

I didn't know. I didn't even know I was ever going to come to

Kate Harlow:

Africa, let alone move here and learn so here and learn Swahili

Kate Harlow:

like it. But it's this new, new place, like, ooh, something

Kate Harlow:

about the language sparks my heart, so I'm going to follow

Kate Harlow:

that. And I mean, gosh, you do that in so many ways. I have a

Kate Harlow:

client right now who a woman I worked with for who's amazing,

Kate Harlow:

magical woman. She just like, all of a sudden felt curious

Kate Harlow:

about horses, and she's just like, really curious, and she's

Kate Harlow:

gone down the rabbit hole now she's like, I have a feeling

Kate Harlow:

it's going to open up massive things for her, because she's so

Kate Harlow:

in love with them. And every time I talk to her, she's more

Kate Harlow:

and more and more in love with horses and doing more things

Kate Harlow:

with them in different ways. And it's been so beautiful to

Kate Harlow:

witness. Is like, a year ago, she that wasn't even on her

Kate Harlow:

radar, and now she's a horse person, and like, going down the

Kate Harlow:

rabbit hole of falling in love with learning from these

Kate Harlow:

beautiful animals. So there's, I just think there's, like, so

Kate Harlow:

many parts of ourselves we haven't met yet. And if you're

Kate Harlow:

not willing to try new things, you won't meet them.

Farhad Khan:

Yeah, that's beautiful. No, totally. And,

Farhad Khan:

yeah, like, I think, like, just like, the horse thing is

Farhad Khan:

amazing, because it's like animals are such amazing beings,

Farhad Khan:

like my dog's sitting in my lap right now, and he's just like,

Farhad Khan:

snuggled up to me, grounding me. I'm obsessed with my dog. I love

Farhad Khan:

him so much. The animals are just I think that's what it's

Farhad Khan:

about. Being with animals absolutely grounding me, calming

Farhad Khan:

me, and just the spiritual connection of just like being

Farhad Khan:

with an animal, your animal is, like, very powerful. And I think

Farhad Khan:

that, you know, you like, I am quite busy, like, I'm doing a

Farhad Khan:

lot of events, and I do a lot of things, but my favorite thing is

Farhad Khan:

really coming back to him. And just like being snuggled into

Farhad Khan:

him, he just kind of resets my nervous system, which, you know,

Farhad Khan:

horses are very known for, that. You know, the spirituality and

Farhad Khan:

energy of a horse. It's, it's becomes like this medicine. You

Farhad Khan:

know, being around these beings, we're so lucky to be able to

Farhad Khan:

have them close to us. I think it's a privilege and a blessing,

Farhad Khan:

you know. And the other thing with that, with you know, what

Farhad Khan:

you're mentioning is, you know, I think the reminders of just

Farhad Khan:

being grateful every day, gratitude our blessings like we

Farhad Khan:

are very fortunate, like how we live in our day to day lives.

Farhad Khan:

So, you know, just remembering that we are very blessed. We are

Farhad Khan:

very like fortunate with what we have in our lives compared to

Farhad Khan:

some other people in the world and other parts of the world.

Farhad Khan:

And I think that daily practice as well is like a really good

Farhad Khan:

reminder of maybe, you know, finding that deeper purpose

Farhad Khan:

within yourself. Yourself. Like, what is that you can actually

Farhad Khan:

give back as well to others and share the parts of yourself, but

Farhad Khan:

it comes from like that internal gratitude, like reminding us of

Farhad Khan:

that and then sharing that with other people is like, such a

Farhad Khan:

gift. So, like, a lot of the work I do is like, I do it for

Farhad Khan:

myself, and I love it and enjoy it, and then it's like, shared.

Farhad Khan:

And then it's like, the abundance in that, and the

Farhad Khan:

feeling is like, it's definitely what lights me up, you know, you

Farhad Khan:

mentioned, like, you're so light and, you know? And, yeah, it's

Farhad Khan:

like, I think it's because of, you know, the work that I we do.

Farhad Khan:

It's like, I'm so lucky. I have the life I have and get to do

Farhad Khan:

these things because, yes, it's a choice. I chose it and I

Farhad Khan:

created it consciously, because I wanted to create the things I

Farhad Khan:

love more and brought me joy within myself, the self care

Farhad Khan:

part, you know, and then the fact that I get to share that

Farhad Khan:

and see what it does in that ripple effect to the people and

Farhad Khan:

communities and people around me. It's like it's such a win

Farhad Khan:

win, and it feels like this is such a nice way to live life.

Farhad Khan:

I'm going to keep going and keep creating, because it's fun and

Farhad Khan:

inspiring, and just lifting my environment around me up as

Farhad Khan:

well, which is beautiful.

Kate Harlow:

Yeah, yeah, it's, it's, it's amazing. Yeah, I love

Kate Harlow:

appreciation. I find is a really grounding energy to ground when

Kate Harlow:

things when, when, when you're you have things to celebrate,

Kate Harlow:

and things are going well. We're so used to beating ourselves up

Kate Harlow:

and but about the the last thing you said around what you do

Kate Harlow:

brings you joy, and it's for you I want to, let's talk about your

Kate Harlow:

journey. I would love for you to take us on a trajectory, if

Kate Harlow:

you'll share your personal story of like how you even found yoga

Kate Harlow:

or yoga found you, and how you started on the journey of

Kate Harlow:

opening your first yoga studio, and how your your purpose has

Kate Harlow:

evolved. Because I think often i i know a lot of my clients,

Kate Harlow:

especially in the last couple years, have been really, really

Kate Harlow:

feeling that, like I can't do this job anymore, like I cannot

Kate Harlow:

force myself, like stick the square peg into the round hole

Kate Harlow:

anymore, like there's something deeper, there's something more

Kate Harlow:

meaningful. And I know that is such a hot topic of conversation

Kate Harlow:

that I'm having with everyone in my community right now, and I

Kate Harlow:

know, you know, in friend groups, and it's happening

Kate Harlow:

everywhere for people who aren't already feeling their own

Kate Harlow:

purpose. And I think often people have a fantasy that

Kate Harlow:

they're just going to figure it out in their mind first, what

Kate Harlow:

the thing is. But if I look at your journey and my journey, I

Kate Harlow:

had no idea where I was headed. I didn't know I would have this

Kate Harlow:

podcast. I didn't know I would have this amazing community. I

Kate Harlow:

didn't know anything like it was one step at a time. So would

Kate Harlow:

love to hear your story of going from like, how how yoga impacted

Kate Harlow:

your life, how it found you, and then and then, where you went

Kate Harlow:

with your stepping into your purpose and claiming your

Kate Harlow:

magical life that you have now.

Farhad Khan:

Well, yeah, and thank you. That's, you know,

Farhad Khan:

it's a, it's a pretty big story, so we might have to do a few of

Farhad Khan:

these podcasts, but I'll give you the summary of just kind of

Farhad Khan:

like the journey, you know, growing up. You know, I was born

Farhad Khan:

and raised here in Vancouver. My parents are both from India, and

Farhad Khan:

when we came to Vancouver, I was born here, like I mentioned, you

Farhad Khan:

know, we we had a bit of a dysfunctional family growing up,

Farhad Khan:

you know, like my parents were both chefs, and I remember being

Farhad Khan:

at the restaurant in Gastown in Vancouver, and they would argue

Farhad Khan:

like two chefs in the kitchen. So I saw a lot of like

Farhad Khan:

dysfunction, arguing between my parents. They had such a deep,

Farhad Khan:

deep love, but that love also was like, they'd fight a lot,

Farhad Khan:

and I remember seeing that as a kid, I'd be so embarrassed

Farhad Khan:

because people could hear them in the front of the restaurant.

Farhad Khan:

And I'm this little kid like drawing dishes, because I'd have

Farhad Khan:

to work there on weekends all the time. So I grew up in the

Farhad Khan:

restaurant world, and you could literally hear them screaming,

Farhad Khan:

fighting. My dad was a messy Cook, my mom was a clean cook,

Farhad Khan:

and they just butted heads so and then growing up with that

Farhad Khan:

dynamic with all my siblings, I'm the youngest of five kids in

Farhad Khan:

my family, and just the dynamic of fighting with parents and

Farhad Khan:

kids. I watched it all as this the youngest looking up it at

Farhad Khan:

all. And, you know, going through everything under the

Farhad Khan:

moon you could think of with family dysfunction, like

Farhad Khan:

addiction to it's just, it's on. It's like I experienced

Farhad Khan:

everything, if you will. It was crazy, and at the same time it

Farhad Khan:

was almost a blessing, right? Like, I, for some reason, as a

Farhad Khan:

child, knew I'm going through this for a higher purpose. I

Farhad Khan:

remember one specific moment. I was looking in the mirror, and

Farhad Khan:

there was like, arguing happening in the hallway of my

Farhad Khan:

home, and I was looking at myself, tears running down my

Farhad Khan:

eyes. I was a kid, and I was like, in my head, there was a

Farhad Khan:

voice saying, you're going through this for something

Farhad Khan:

greater. Now, what can. Kid hears that, and I've never I can

Farhad Khan:

see and hear that moment clear as day, and I carry it with me

Farhad Khan:

today. I'm like, I had an angel guide. I had guides with me

Farhad Khan:

because there's no kid that has, I mean, I don't really know

Farhad Khan:

many, and I kind of kept that as like my mantra ever since, and

Farhad Khan:

reminding myself through the traumas and tragedies, because

Farhad Khan:

many more came as I got older, like in 9319 93 my dad was

Farhad Khan:

incarcerated for 21 years, went to prison, which really rocked

Farhad Khan:

our world and broke our family apart. And again, I had to,

Farhad Khan:

like, really, like, pick myself up and try not to live in the

Farhad Khan:

whole victim world, which I had many opportunities to do, and

Farhad Khan:

the path of, you know,

Kate Harlow:

what, what kid like, what, you know, that's

Kate Harlow:

wild. I think of how many people are victims of, like, their boss

Kate Harlow:

being grumpy or something, and it's like, what child goes

Kate Harlow:

through that and the whole time is connected to his higher self?

Kate Harlow:

I mean, yeah,

Farhad Khan:

and like, it was hard, because I was 13 when that

Farhad Khan:

had that part happened, and I had much more prior to that.

Farhad Khan:

Like, that'll be in the book Kate. Yes, yes. You know, that

Farhad Khan:

was probably the really big turning point when that

Farhad Khan:

happened, because it was like, blasted all over media, and it

Farhad Khan:

was like, my life was exposed. I'm a kid in high school and

Farhad Khan:

going to school, and, you know, media and news and newspapers

Farhad Khan:

like going through that whole like having I used to walk with

Farhad Khan:

my head down a lot, like I would walk down because I didn't want

Farhad Khan:

someone to see my face, because I was so ashamed, living in

Farhad Khan:

shame, and I'm not worthy. And we lived in an affluent

Farhad Khan:

community at the time, and we lost all our friends. I had no

Farhad Khan:

friends. Everyone turned on us. It was crazy. It was, it was, it

Farhad Khan:

was a out of a movie. It felt like it's very surreal.

Kate Harlow:

It probably will be a movie. I think I'm getting

Kate Harlow:

that download now, like your life story is a book and it and

Kate Harlow:

it becomes a movie, for sure.

Farhad Khan:

You know, it's there's so many different facets

Farhad Khan:

to it as well, like so many little things in there, you

Farhad Khan:

know, that I will share over time eventually. But you know,

Farhad Khan:

like I mentioned, just like on

Kate Harlow:

our future show, yeah, we're gonna have a

Kate Harlow:

sideshow and

Farhad Khan:

you know what the spin off show? I'm totally into

Farhad Khan:

that, because I think that a lot of my story is relatable to

Farhad Khan:

people in one way or the other different parts of the story,

Farhad Khan:

like from, you know, the depression, anxiety, addiction,

Farhad Khan:

the shame, the guilt, like so many things around the that that

Farhad Khan:

we all endure as humans on different levels, in the

Farhad Khan:

emotional state, trauma, really, right? And carrying that as a

Farhad Khan:

child, and then as I got older, you know, I was very lost,

Farhad Khan:

because I was like, that really throws you off. And you you lose

Farhad Khan:

sense of identity, or what your identity might be or should look

Farhad Khan:

like, because you're kind of like hiding a lot. And I was,

Farhad Khan:

and I remember, I was at a point in my life, and I was in my

Farhad Khan:

early 20s and 1920 2020s, yeah, around 20 and I was having

Farhad Khan:

suicidal thoughts. I was like, I am just done, like I couldn't

Farhad Khan:

live with the feelings of not good enough and shame and

Farhad Khan:

everything that was happening with my family and within

Farhad Khan:

myself, the turmoil, and one of my best friends at the time, and

Farhad Khan:

she's still my best friend today, and she actually was with

Farhad Khan:

me through a lot of my, you know, upbringing. And she's

Farhad Khan:

like, why don't you try yoga? This was in 2001 now. Michelle,

Farhad Khan:

yeah. Michelle, yeah. And she said, try yoga, because she was

Farhad Khan:

very concerned about me. She loved me like we were family,

Farhad Khan:

right? And so I did. I went to my first yoga class by myself.

Farhad Khan:

And back then, where, in North Vancouver, at the yoga pod, yoga

Farhad Khan:

pod. Where was yoga pod? Just on Esplanade. It's no longer there.

Farhad Khan:

Obviously, shut down many years ago now, but they were a really

Farhad Khan:

beautiful yoga studio, and that was my first time doing a yoga

Farhad Khan:

class, which is crazy, in 2001 Yeah. And so I went by myself in

Farhad Khan:

the afternoon. I remember it. I did the most amazing practice a

Farhad Khan:

teacher, her words were like speaking to my soul. And I went

Farhad Khan:

after the class, into the car, sat in my car, and started

Farhad Khan:

crying uncontrollably. I was crying, crying, crying, and I

Farhad Khan:

knew it was tears of almost joy or release, or like I finally

Farhad Khan:

found something that made me feel or open me up or release,

Farhad Khan:

something on a deeper level than I was so externalized. I was so

Farhad Khan:

living my life through what other people thought of me, the

Farhad Khan:

judgments, what they were thinking of me, through my

Farhad Khan:

family's experiences, and like I always thought, like people were

Farhad Khan:

talking about me in a negative way because of everything I had

Farhad Khan:

been through. And finally, I was able to go inward. Realize,

Farhad Khan:

like, who am I? Like, I'm a good person. Like, I have been

Farhad Khan:

through a lot, and it wasn't of my doing. This was just what I

Farhad Khan:

was presented in my soul's journey. I was born into this. I

Farhad Khan:

didn't commit these crimes or these things, these moments. I

Farhad Khan:

was a kid, and I really started to get connected to my inner

Farhad Khan:

wisdom and self through the practice of meditation, of yoga,

Farhad Khan:

and I realized I'm going to stick to this path now, because

Farhad Khan:

I found something, oh my gosh, like I was amazing,

Kate Harlow:

yeah, and something that makes you feel good, like

Kate Harlow:

that. It's such a beautiful feeling when you're in so much

Kate Harlow:

pain internally, and then you find something that actually

Kate Harlow:

connects you to really to who we truly are,

Farhad Khan:

I think so, or at least unmasking or unlayering

Farhad Khan:

parts of ourselves, or transforming those parts of

Farhad Khan:

ourselves that we had, you know, endured the traumas and sadness

Farhad Khan:

and all the things like, how can I now use these to empower

Farhad Khan:

myself? So there's the adversity. I gained strength

Farhad Khan:

coming back in the mantra, you're going through this for a

Farhad Khan:

higher purpose. That reminder came back because I went inward

Farhad Khan:

through my practice. So that reminder spoke louder within me,

Farhad Khan:

like, oh, yeah, you're doing this for a higher purpose. This

Farhad Khan:

is an experience you're experiencing. So you can help

Farhad Khan:

yourself through it, and then help others that are going

Farhad Khan:

through the similar suffering. Because, you know what? You're

Farhad Khan:

not the only one going through this, I guarantee it. And that

Farhad Khan:

was kind of, then the language I adopted, that in the darkness I

Farhad Khan:

can find light. You know, the lotus flower growing in the mud,

Farhad Khan:

the dark dirty mud, this light, beautiful flower will grow and

Farhad Khan:

come so from the dark comes light, from light comes dark.

Farhad Khan:

There's this balance of polarities that we're living in

Farhad Khan:

the human experience. And I think that there's so much

Farhad Khan:

wisdom and teaching and beauty. And I know this now, of course,

Farhad Khan:

that it can, it can make you take leaps and bounds into the

Farhad Khan:

light and the magic and the dreams you want to manifest. But

Farhad Khan:

it's transforming. It re patterning, learning from it.

Farhad Khan:

Don't run away from it. There's so much amazing. It's like that

Farhad Khan:

compost of stuff that amazing, that too, you know, right? Like,

Farhad Khan:

the dirt,

Kate Harlow:

there's, there's minerals, there's, like, there's

Kate Harlow:

things you need to jewels and diamonds in that dirt. Like, I

Kate Harlow:

was picturing, maybe there's the Kenyan Red Earth, like, Rich.

Kate Harlow:

It's like, that's the dirt you want on your skin. Yeah,

Kate Harlow:

exactly. It's healing. It's, it, there's, there's so many gems

Kate Harlow:

inside of it.

Farhad Khan:

Yeah, absolutely, and so, yeah, like, you know,

Farhad Khan:

just, I was in a job too that I did not love. I was working for

Farhad Khan:

a bank and insurance.

Unknown:

Remember, he got me my first credit card, where it all

Unknown:

went downhill,

Farhad Khan:

and, you know, and I learned a lot from there. It

Farhad Khan:

kept me disciplined. I had responsibility. It was a bank,

Farhad Khan:

you know, I didn't go to college or university. I wasn't able to

Farhad Khan:

due to my circumstances at the time and where I was in my

Farhad Khan:

mindset. So I worked. I always worked, and I had some amazing

Farhad Khan:

jobs, but I always kept my foot in the practice, because it was

Farhad Khan:

like helping me get through and then at one point, I realized

Farhad Khan:

I'm like, I want to make this my life. Because what an amazing

Farhad Khan:

life to be able to practice every day and then share it with

Farhad Khan:

people like, I want this for my future, because I know my

Farhad Khan:

nervous system and mind really would need that. Because going

Farhad Khan:

through what I went through as that young adult child. I'm

Farhad Khan:

like, if I don't find a path that's gonna keep me on a path,

Farhad Khan:

it's gonna go another direction, and that direction was like

Farhad Khan:

those, you know, negative, dark thoughts that could consume one

Farhad Khan:

right?

Kate Harlow:

I I just want to highlight one thing you just

Kate Harlow:

said. I want to make this my life like, how? What a beautiful

Kate Harlow:

statement. Just thinking of how many people do things they love

Kate Harlow:

and then they go to a job they hate, and maybe because they

Kate Harlow:

believe, Oh, you can't make money from that, or whatever.

Kate Harlow:

There might be some limiting beliefs in there, but I want to

Kate Harlow:

make this my life. How beautiful is that?

Farhad Khan:

Yeah, I you know what? It was clear as day that

Farhad Khan:

I'm like, why not? Why not choose this as a life path?

Farhad Khan:

Because it's so beautiful. It felt amazing. It was healing me

Farhad Khan:

on levels I didn't know at that time yet, until I learned much

Farhad Khan:

later about the science and what's actually happening to our

Farhad Khan:

brain, gut, nervous system, our spiritual being, energy, body,

Farhad Khan:

the dense body, like you said, we're in the dense. I learned

Farhad Khan:

about the dense and then the subtle energies and and the

Farhad Khan:

healing around that. So all, all I know, is in the moment. Back

Farhad Khan:

then it was a felt, sense and knowing, and then later, because

Farhad Khan:

in 2006 I did my first teacher training. Training to become

Farhad Khan:

certified as a yoga teacher. That's when it really opened up

Farhad Khan:

the door of, okay, there is a science to this. There is actual

Farhad Khan:

science of what's happening. And now that everything was starting

Farhad Khan:

to click in my brain, my heart, like all the dots, I'm like,

Farhad Khan:

this is actually medicine. This is therapy medicine. This is a

Farhad Khan:

path of spirituality that is uplifting and lightning, and

Farhad Khan:

it's only going to get better and better if I move in this

Farhad Khan:

direction for myself, because the other route and road was a

Farhad Khan:

darker place that I would have stayed in, and I knew I didn't.

Farhad Khan:

I knew I was going through this for a higher purpose, and I

Farhad Khan:

wanted to make that my, my mantra, and move forward with

Farhad Khan:

that in life as my mission, to be of service, you know? And I

Farhad Khan:

did that, and so many years later, yeah, 2007 then I opened

Farhad Khan:

up my yoga studio, like, a year, not even a year after I

Farhad Khan:

graduated, I'm like, I'm just doing this. I'm making it my

Farhad Khan:

life. And I'm going to say something kind

Kate Harlow:

of, most people will be like, I'm not good

Kate Harlow:

enough. Yeah, I need to practice like, 10 million more times and

Kate Harlow:

do my training. Oh, yeah,

Farhad Khan:

no, absolutely. And I was also like, people around

Farhad Khan:

me, like, when I was gonna open up my yoga studio, I was like,

Farhad Khan:

Are you crazy? First of all, you don't have a following. You

Farhad Khan:

haven't even done this really. You even really started

Farhad Khan:

teaching. And I had not a lot of money at all. I was, you know,

Farhad Khan:

how is this going to happen? Like, everyone's like, the

Farhad Khan:

economy's bad right now, but I just had this inner feeling and

Farhad Khan:

knowing guidance. And I don't even know how to really fully

Farhad Khan:

name it as one name, but angels, like inner voice, universal

Farhad Khan:

self, whatever you want to call it. It's like, you need to

Farhad Khan:

create this space of community where people can practice in a

Farhad Khan:

safe space and nurture selves through this and community and

Farhad Khan:

connection. And I did, and it all manifested magically, and

Kate Harlow:

it was during a recession, and also, like the

Kate Harlow:

most beautiful studio, because you're also one of your I mean,

Kate Harlow:

you have insane amount of gifts from anyone I've ever met, but

Kate Harlow:

it your gift of esthetics. I mean, like your studio is and

Kate Harlow:

your house is everything, every what you wear, like, always,

Kate Harlow:

just beautiful.

Farhad Khan:

Yeah, thank you. Well, I mean, I like style. I

Farhad Khan:

like things that look I'm a Libra. So I like detail,

Farhad Khan:

totally, totally Libra. And like, I, you know, I I'm drawn

Farhad Khan:

to like esthetics and balance and nice looking things and so,

Farhad Khan:

yeah, my studio, I want it to be, like, beautifully,

Farhad Khan:

stunningly simple, classy that would never go out of style,

Farhad Khan:

like it could just stay and be minimalist as well, like very

Farhad Khan:

zen and meditative. When you walk in, you just feel grounded.

Farhad Khan:

And so I think I achieved that I really do, and I was so proud of

Farhad Khan:

it, and I had it almost around 18 years.

Kate Harlow:

And 18 years, was it that long? Well, wait, I

Farhad Khan:

opened in 2000 I'm a little girl.

Unknown:

No, no, I said, we. I said, we, we've been doing this

Unknown:

dance a long time.

Farhad Khan:

I love it. No, I think, yeah, 2007 and then I

Farhad Khan:

sold it in 2020, right before covid, basically. So it was a

Farhad Khan:

long thing, and but through that, I learned and grew and did

Farhad Khan:

many trainings and sound healing. I learned and the sound

Farhad Khan:

therapy. And, you know, so much adventure happened through

Farhad Khan:

there, like, big, huge, amazing chapter in my life, absolutely,

Farhad Khan:

and now that I'm, like, free community.

Kate Harlow:

I mean, like everyone you had, the most loyal

Kate Harlow:

community I had, I I met because my parents, like, were from

Kate Harlow:

North Vancouver too, and my parents friends would, my mom

Kate Harlow:

would be talking to someone and be talking about you, and then

Kate Harlow:

they would be like, oh, what my yoga. I love my yoga. And like,

Kate Harlow:

they had so many friends who would do my yoga. I don't even

Kate Harlow:

know if I've ever told you that.

Farhad Khan:

No, yeah, no, I let you know. Ma became a thing, and

Farhad Khan:

mom means mother in Hindi. So I did it to honor my mom. And also

Farhad Khan:

the vision was, nurture yourself the way a parent does to their

Farhad Khan:

child, like do that for yourself. The self care, first,

Farhad Khan:

as hard as that can be sometimes. And then once you do

Farhad Khan:

that, you can give it authentically outward, so really

Farhad Khan:

embodying the nurture self care kind of ritual, if you will,

Farhad Khan:

that practice. And then from there, authentically it is given

Farhad Khan:

outward, because, you know, the whole thing you can't get from

Farhad Khan:

an empty cup or that sort of thing. It was very much rooted

Farhad Khan:

in that, you know, and when I was younger, too, it's like, I

Farhad Khan:

want to give that to myself. Remember, I was like, the whole

Farhad Khan:

selfish thing versus self care. It's like, I trans, transform

Farhad Khan:

that word into selfishly, like, no, it's self care. You do

Farhad Khan:

deserve to take care of yourself and go and do a go, get a spa

Farhad Khan:

go, you know, do the practice take time in your day for

Farhad Khan:

yourself, the rituals, like the things that bring you joy, like,

Farhad Khan:

you know, I, you know, taking my bath or my shower and putting on

Farhad Khan:

my nice skincare products is like taking care of

Kate Harlow:

your skincare. Products, let's plug the

Kate Harlow:

skincare products, and you turn to gold, yeah,

Farhad Khan:

like that daily ritual of self, or like that cup

Farhad Khan:

of tea, and like just sitting watching nature and gardening,

Farhad Khan:

whatever brings you that moment in your day for yourself to,

Farhad Khan:

like, Just be quiet and listen. I think is so self care

Farhad Khan:

practices that we need to do more of absolutely

Kate Harlow:

makes me and when you describe it that that way,

Kate Harlow:

in such a sweet, sensual, beautiful way, it makes me think

Kate Harlow:

of like how everyone is to someone they're trying to like,

Kate Harlow:

Woo in the beginning of a relationship. When you're

Kate Harlow:

dating, you like do what exactly woo you. Is that the name of our

Kate Harlow:

spin off show you?

Farhad Khan:

Wait. Are we doing a spin off to do we share that

Farhad Khan:

already? Yeah, we did.

Kate Harlow:

We're planting a seed YouTube channel, but, and

Kate Harlow:

it's going to be really playful and funny, but like, woo you.

Kate Harlow:

Maybe that's it. It might not make sense to people you, but

Kate Harlow:

that is it. You're, you woo people in the beginning, you do

Kate Harlow:

things to impress them, and you want to like if you're an

Kate Harlow:

amazing cook, you make them dinner. If you're, you know, you

Kate Harlow:

buy them presents. You to, you know, do these little things for

Kate Harlow:

them, to impress them, or to make them like you more. Like

Kate Harlow:

make yourself like you more.

Farhad Khan:

But it's like, that's kind of like you hear,

Farhad Khan:

you know, the honeymoon phase of, like, the first bit of

Farhad Khan:

relationship, where you're trying to, like, you know,

Farhad Khan:

really impress and be sexy and but then all of a sudden there's

Farhad Khan:

a moment that things shift after a year or so, or six months or a

Farhad Khan:

year, probably, but, and then that starts to dwindle down. But

Farhad Khan:

exactly, it's like

Kate Harlow:

learning not when you woo you like, when you don't

Kate Harlow:

have such a high and low like and this podcast is so much

Kate Harlow:

about dating and relationships is like the high and low comes

Kate Harlow:

from the fantasy, and then the crash of the fantasy

Kate Harlow:

dissipating, and now you're meeting each other's wounds and

Kate Harlow:

each other's you know, patterns, but, but when you live a life

Kate Harlow:

like you're talking about following your heart, following

Kate Harlow:

Your joy, doing what you love, wooing yourself, caring for

Kate Harlow:

yourself, then your cup is full, and you meet a partner and you,

Kate Harlow:

of course, you're gonna have challenges, you're gonna have

Kate Harlow:

triggers, stuff comes up that's normal, but you're not gonna

Kate Harlow:

look to them. You're not they're not gonna be like heroin

Kate Harlow:

anymore, where it's like, oh my god, need another hit and need

Kate Harlow:

another hit because you're already full inside.

Farhad Khan:

Yeah, no, that's a big one. And the funny thing is,

Farhad Khan:

I do love being on my own. I love time with myself, like just

Farhad Khan:

sitting around, laying and, you know, listening to music or

Farhad Khan:

whatever. Like, I do enjoy, like, cooking alone. Like I like

Farhad Khan:

alone time. I do, like, I feel like I'm good company with

Farhad Khan:

myself. If that sounds weird, but like, I think that's

Farhad Khan:

important is like to have that relationship with yourself and

Farhad Khan:

enjoy your personal time. And I crave personal time. I think

Farhad Khan:

because I'm I am an introvert, believe it or not, and even

Farhad Khan:

though I'm exposed to a lot of people and audiences for like,

Farhad Khan:

my events and things like that, like I get my energy when I'm

Farhad Khan:

alone or with my dog in the quiet time, that's where I

Farhad Khan:

really fuel myself internally and nurture and give back to

Farhad Khan:

myself, and so finding that balance, right? So for me, it's

Farhad Khan:

that ritualistic thing every day, and finding those things in

Farhad Khan:

my day, that that I have that time for myself,

Kate Harlow:

that if everyone had a lot more woo in their

Kate Harlow:

life, they would enjoy being alone. But most people are stuck

Kate Harlow:

alone with the critical voice in their head, being a victim of

Kate Harlow:

circumstance, judging themselves, judging other

Kate Harlow:

people, you know, fighting for their limitations. So the more

Kate Harlow:

yoga meditation, I just feel like there's so many already,

Kate Harlow:

and you're not even I want to hear more of your story. Your

Kate Harlow:

story is so good, it's so amazing, but it's if people

Kate Harlow:

spent, you know, there's so many clues to all of the things

Kate Harlow:

you're saying, and how if we spent more time doing these

Kate Harlow:

things that we love, doing things that feel good, doing

Kate Harlow:

things that are nurturing and and healing, and soul giving and

Kate Harlow:

heart expanding. We'd all love being alone instead of just

Kate Harlow:

hanging out with the mean roommate that lives upstairs

Kate Harlow:

your penthouse.

Farhad Khan:

Sweet, you know, I think, I think with a lot of

Farhad Khan:

things, and we hear this a lot, everything in moderation and

Farhad Khan:

balance. And again, here comes back my Libra vibes. You know, I

Farhad Khan:

It's I have to put myself out there and be social and do the

Farhad Khan:

events and connection, because I do believe I'm here of service,

Farhad Khan:

and I have things to share with my community and communities,

Farhad Khan:

and I I love that, because it's, it's wonderful, but then I find

Farhad Khan:

the balance of what feeds my soul and nourishes me. So it's

Farhad Khan:

kind of like check in with me first, remember that whole Maw

Farhad Khan:

vision and I embody that I really do. I praise that within

Farhad Khan:

my rituals, in my daily practice, because I also believe

Farhad Khan:

too I have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression on such real

Farhad Khan:

grief. Life on such real deep levels. And I realized in my

Farhad Khan:

mind, okay, I've gone through this. I still go through this on

Farhad Khan:

some levels daily. It's not as consuming, consuming as it used

Farhad Khan:

to be, but because I realized you're going through this

Farhad Khan:

experientially, so you can understand it, learn from it,

Farhad Khan:

and help others going through it, so I can relate to people

Farhad Khan:

more, because I've gone through so much tragedy and trauma and,

Farhad Khan:

you know, the PTSD and CPTSD and all the ADHD, all the stuff, you

Farhad Khan:

know, growing up the way I did, it was just okay. I understand

Farhad Khan:

now through textbook and the teachings, I'm more educated,

Farhad Khan:

knowledgeable that I do have these things. You know, are they

Farhad Khan:

allies? Are they allies? Are they tools that I've been gifted

Farhad Khan:

on this journey? Or are they there as like, heavy, dead

Farhad Khan:

weight that's like, holding me back from manifesting my dreams,

Farhad Khan:

desires and my joy and cultivating the life I want? So

Farhad Khan:

I'm like, wait a second. No, I can use all those things and

Farhad Khan:

transform them, re pattern them within myself that, wait a

Farhad Khan:

second, those might have been gifts or little jewels or pearls

Farhad Khan:

of wisdom. I was gifted in the life's journey because I know

Farhad Khan:

life is all about, you know, struggle, figuring it out,

Farhad Khan:

survival and finding the balance and peace within it. Or the

Kate Harlow:

neutral journey, the hero's journey, the hero's

Kate Harlow:

journey,

Farhad Khan:

yeah, and coming back to the outcome Exactly. Or

Farhad Khan:

in finding neutral, try to find neutral in every situation. And

Farhad Khan:

you know, the end in yoga called the Bodhisattva, the

Farhad Khan:

Bodhisattva, right? Like, coming into that place of neutrality is

Farhad Khan:

a really place to live in, the seat of that. I think you're

Farhad Khan:

really living in the seat of your soul when you're living in

Farhad Khan:

the Bodhisattva, in the place of neutral. We're not triggered

Farhad Khan:

into like, negative mind or overly positive. Like, recognize

Farhad Khan:

those as an observer or witness in your situations. Like, and

Farhad Khan:

then come back to neutral for a moment and breathe, pause, okay.

Farhad Khan:

Like, what's the teaching and lesson here? Like, let me see if

Farhad Khan:

I can put myself in the other person's shoes or the other

Farhad Khan:

situation, the polarity of the situation. Like, take yourself

Farhad Khan:

outside of the the wheel of your thinking mind that the patterns

Farhad Khan:

always go to. And see it from a broader perspective. Some people

Farhad Khan:

call this like the universal self, you know, the little self,

Farhad Khan:

big self. And just pull back for a moment. And I think going back

Farhad Khan:

to the practice, for me, that's what it taught me a lot about

Farhad Khan:

is, you know, the discipline, the witnessing, observing,

Farhad Khan:

listening to my body, hearing the thoughts and really being

Farhad Khan:

curious about the thoughts, rather than like, like, what's

Farhad Khan:

wrong with me? Why am I thinking like that? Because there was a

Farhad Khan:

period of time where I would think like, why is why am I

Farhad Khan:

thinking like this? Why are these so I know I'm good, I know

Farhad Khan:

I'm good enough, but why is it telling me I'm not good enough?

Farhad Khan:

Who is that voice? Where is it coming from? So then I started

Farhad Khan:

to investigate that child, that little boy in me, that still

Farhad Khan:

needed healing and attention, obviously. And so I started to

Farhad Khan:

go deeper into that world, and I started to realize, okay, let's

Farhad Khan:

see how we can, like, take his hand and be like, I got you. We

Farhad Khan:

got this. Let's walk together and let's, let's create

Farhad Khan:

something different now, like that old pattern and story isn't

Farhad Khan:

working for us anymore. It's kept us protected and safe, but

Farhad Khan:

now we can go here and it's okay, and we can make mistakes,

Farhad Khan:

because those mistakes are failures. Are beautiful lessons

Farhad Khan:

and teachings and learnings. Don't take you to the next

Farhad Khan:

thing. So try not to be so fearful. Be more playful. Have

Farhad Khan:

more fun.

Farhad Khan:

see and explore and create, be creative, and I'm choosing that

Farhad Khan:

daily and and it's been fun and magical and beautiful. And so

Farhad Khan:

I'm healing the little boy inside of me. I'm working with

Farhad Khan:

all my traumas and all those things that I was now I say

Farhad Khan:

gifted, and as hard as it is to hear that, sometimes because I

Farhad Khan:

went through some serious traumas and tragedies, so they

Farhad Khan:

were like, well, so we were like, what? But it's like, you

Farhad Khan:

know, it's, it's part of my path, and it's brought me to

Farhad Khan:

where I am today, and I'm proud of where I am today and who I am

Farhad Khan:

today. You know, I still have hard days and times, but now I

Farhad Khan:

have those tools, and I work through them, and I share them,

Farhad Khan:

and I remember, I have a remembrance of, Wow, your soul

Farhad Khan:

was gifted many opportunities and experiences that were rich

Farhad Khan:

and full of that dirty, dirty dirt, which I've now composted

Farhad Khan:

and now flowers to do a facial. I'm gonna do a facial with that

Farhad Khan:

mud. Exactly. Yeah. They're red, but I'm coming to Africa. We're

Farhad Khan:

doing a retreat.

Kate Harlow:

Yeah, you are you better come soon. Yeah, we'll

Kate Harlow:

plug out all our retreat. But I, yeah, I love everything you're

Kate Harlow:

saying. It's so beautiful, and it's like, it's so important,

Kate Harlow:

because you and I represent light and joy, and it's, I love

Kate Harlow:

how much of your story you've shared. I feel like this is just

Kate Harlow:

makes the conversation so much more potent and powerful,

Kate Harlow:

because it's not all light and love, like it's like meeting

Kate Harlow:

ourselves in the pain I always say, like we're just in

Kate Harlow:

expansion and contraction, like breathing as humans, and

Kate Harlow:

probably we all chose whatever journey we're on. So even if it

Kate Harlow:

might seem like it fucking sucks and you wish whatever's

Kate Harlow:

happening wasn't happening on some soul level. This is the

Kate Harlow:

curriculum. Your soul is here to experience. And especially if

Kate Harlow:

you're listening to this podcast, you're on this path.

Kate Harlow:

Your soul is here to evolve, and you can choose the fear based

Kate Harlow:

small path. That's an option. That is so people think this

Kate Harlow:

path is work. No, that's way more work. That is exhausting

Kate Harlow:

being in your patterns all the time, and and, and in your

Kate Harlow:

limitation, but when we can meet ourselves in those younger parts

Kate Harlow:

of us, in when we're in those contracted states, when we have

Kate Harlow:

that pain activated, and we can love ourselves through it, like,

Kate Harlow:

I just felt that so strongly, when you're like, I'm holding

Kate Harlow:

his hand now and I'm walking with him, like, Can we be to the

Kate Harlow:

little girl, to the little boy inside, who went through

Kate Harlow:

everything that they went through. Because all of us,

Kate Harlow:

whether you have capital T trauma or small traumas, like

Kate Harlow:

all of us, were told who to be, what to think, what's right,

Kate Harlow:

what's wrong, what's good, what's bad, all of us were

Kate Harlow:

pulled away from the magic of who we are and the essence of

Kate Harlow:

who we are. So in order to reclaim that, you have to be

Kate Harlow:

willing to be the divine mom, divine dad, divine lover, love,

Kate Harlow:

mentor, Guide to that Wounded Little kid inside. And I feel

Kate Harlow:

like that's just what you do. It's like doesn't come without

Kate Harlow:

pain, it doesn't come without a lot of grief, but it comes with

Kate Harlow:

also, also simultaneously, as you're holding that little boy's

Kate Harlow:

hand as you're letting him feel you. I imagine this is true for

Kate Harlow:

me, but I imagine it's true for you too, also always

Kate Harlow:

simultaneously holding the perspective that there is

Kate Harlow:

something greater happening here. Like I, no matter what I'm

Kate Harlow:

going through, I always hold that perspective, but I'm like

Kate Harlow:

crying my eyes out, while simultaneously being like this

Kate Harlow:

is for a purpose, and we don't need to get in our head about it

Kate Harlow:

like it will make sense later. It doesn't often make sense

Kate Harlow:

during but later when you're willing to just feel your

Kate Harlow:

feelings and love yourself through the experience, that's

Kate Harlow:

what alchemizes it, and then you get to come back to that life of

Kate Harlow:

joy, yeah, give that little boy the joy like I feel like your

Kate Harlow:

life now, and magical things you do, like, keep telling us your

Kate Harlow:

life story, because I think it's important to share where you you

Kate Harlow:

went beyond the yoga studio, because it is like your life now

Kate Harlow:

feels like a reclamation for that little boy and giving him

Kate Harlow:

the best fucking life he could ever imagine, You know, and

Kate Harlow:

that's and most support and the most guidance and all those

Kate Harlow:

things.

Farhad Khan:

It's exactly right. And I feel like that little boy

Farhad Khan:

that was so confined for so long and anxiety and all the scary

Farhad Khan:

and, oh, the world's scary, and it's shame, and you're right.

Farhad Khan:

And today, how I've totally transformed it now into, like,

Farhad Khan:

exposing myself, into a big audiences and sharing and having

Farhad Khan:

fun and creative, and all my creativity outlets are coming

Farhad Khan:

out, like my wellness line, my retreats, my deck of cards, and

Farhad Khan:

the practices I do like so many things. I'm like, I'm doing all

Farhad Khan:

the things I love. It's like a kid I'm playing and for so long,

Farhad Khan:

though too, it's like, you're I was conditioned to always think

Farhad Khan:

of like, what other people thought of me and the shame and

Farhad Khan:

they're judging me. And today I'm like, let them, let them. It

Farhad Khan:

doesn't matter. That's their stuff. It's not mine. And I can

Farhad Khan:

either spend my life worrying about what they're all thinking

Farhad Khan:

and saying, because there's always going to be people

Farhad Khan:

talking about us, good or bad. There's always gonna be critics.

Farhad Khan:

There's always, it's always, it's always, is just how the

Farhad Khan:

human czar, you know? So I can spend my time waiting and

Farhad Khan:

wondering what they're all doing, or I can spend my time

Farhad Khan:

cultivating the joy in my life and what brings me happiness,

Farhad Khan:

and move from within my inner space into my outer space and

Farhad Khan:

creating my reality and world, because I do believe, you know

Farhad Khan:

when, if you get up with every day and look in the mirror and

Farhad Khan:

say, I'm ugly, you know what? You're ugly. So ugly for sure.

Farhad Khan:

Yeah, like, I your thoughts create our reality. Our actions

Farhad Khan:

are fancy. They create our environment, surroundings. And

Farhad Khan:

so now I'm like, okay, like, no, like, I am going to let them

Farhad Khan:

just be all those voices and things that noise around that

Farhad Khan:

isn't serving my highest and best self. I'm not going to let

Farhad Khan:

that be as loud, you know, it'll be there. I'm always aware, but

Farhad Khan:

I definitely, I know the path that is. A beautiful one of the

Farhad Khan:

souls journey, and it's a gift. We're very precious and

Farhad Khan:

powerful. And everyone has the same light within them and joy

Farhad Khan:

and that that inner child spark that wants to be creative and

Farhad Khan:

playful and feel special. And I think we all have that in us.

Farhad Khan:

And so learning that about ourselves, you know, is such a

Farhad Khan:

beautiful gift to give ourselves that you can achieve and be

Farhad Khan:

those things and be free with it absolutely. So that's it.

Kate Harlow:

Yeah, and when you live from that place, like of

Kate Harlow:

the willingness, the no longer willing to let other people's

Kate Harlow:

opinions and limitations limit you. Your world opens up so

Kate Harlow:

much, and then you attract people who also aren't limited.

Kate Harlow:

I don't know about you, but like, I have so many amazing

Kate Harlow:

humans in my life, and every day, I mean, Africa attracts

Kate Harlow:

really cool people. There's amazing people here, but every

Kate Harlow:

day I meet people that are living unscripted and living

Kate Harlow:

these big, expansive lives, and that are that are seeing the

Kate Harlow:

world through such an empowering at a time where, you know, I

Kate Harlow:

could plunk into a neighborhood in America and everyone's

Kate Harlow:

talking about how the world's going to shit and everything's

Kate Harlow:

burning and how, like, it's all going to hell in a handbasket.

Kate Harlow:

Is like, we can have totally different realities, because

Kate Harlow:

your inner world creates your outer world. And if your inner

Kate Harlow:

world is a mess and you're just in that toxic abuse of

Kate Harlow:

punishment cycle internally from your traumas, and you haven't

Kate Harlow:

done the deeper healing to love up those parts of yourself and

Kate Harlow:

to reclaim your own life and your own joy, then your outer

Kate Harlow:

world is going to reflect what you're experiencing. Like I

Kate Harlow:

remember the first time I changed the first time, the

Kate Harlow:

first time I changed my name, because I did change it a couple

Kate Harlow:

times when I added the last name and all that, but the first time

Kate Harlow:

I went through that that was like an initiation for me,

Kate Harlow:

because I lost lots of friends. They didn't say, I'm not your

Kate Harlow:

friend anymore because you changed your name. But my whole

Kate Harlow:

external world changed because I was reclaiming me, just like

Kate Harlow:

going to doing something really fucking wild and different,

Kate Harlow:

which I wasn't that person before. I never did things that

Kate Harlow:

were wild and different. I was like, oh my god, can I be more

Kate Harlow:

like you and you and you and I just want to be like everyone

Kate Harlow:

else, so to take a stand and be like, You know what? This might

Kate Harlow:

seem weird to everyone, but I don't care, because I hate my

Kate Harlow:

name, and why am I going to go 75 more years if I live to 100

Kate Harlow:

being called a name I hate, and so that, if I look back on my

Kate Harlow:

journey, that was like, the first initiation where I'm like,

Kate Harlow:

even though I feel so much, you know, embarrassment, I feel like

Kate Harlow:

judged. I feel, you know, I part of me didn't want to do it. The

Kate Harlow:

part of me that was like, No, we're doing this. Was stronger.

Kate Harlow:

And the more we follow that over and over and over again, and we

Kate Harlow:

say yes to ourselves, you'll realize people actually don't

Kate Harlow:

care about you in your life as much as they might say they do.

Kate Harlow:

They just say those things in the moment because they're

Kate Harlow:

projecting their own limitations. If they're afraid

Kate Harlow:

of change, if they're afraid of doing something against the

Kate Harlow:

grain. If they're afraid of being judged and being called

Kate Harlow:

weird or whatever, then they'll project that onto you. You're

Kate Harlow:

starting a yoga studio in a recession. What are you crazy

Kate Harlow:

like I, because they wouldn't do something that courageous at

Kate Harlow:

that at a time like that, right? So it's like, just a reflection

Kate Harlow:

of who they are and where they're at within themselves.

Kate Harlow:

It's nothing to do with you. And so the willingness to just say,

Kate Harlow:

like, what matters the most is how I feel. And then the ex let

Kate Harlow:

the external world catch up. Because in my experience, it

Kate Harlow:

just gets more and more aligned. And I just, I feel like I keep

Kate Harlow:

just surrounding myself with more inspiring, expanded people

Kate Harlow:

who are even more wild and unscripted. And then I am, I'm

Kate Harlow:

just like, ooh, so inspired daily by this world around me

Kate Harlow:

that changes. The more my inner world changes beautiful.

Farhad Khan:

And I think that, yeah, like you, you start to

Farhad Khan:

attract those people in your community around you that, you

Farhad Khan:

know, I love the light attracts light. It's infectious, right?

Farhad Khan:

Like you're like you're embodying it, your inner spark.

Farhad Khan:

People are drawn to that energy, and you're you're lifting other

Farhad Khan:

people up, and then that becomes your circle, and your people

Farhad Khan:

around you. And I think that's, it's very important too, who we

Farhad Khan:

surround ourselves by, you know? And I think that it's beautiful,

Farhad Khan:

like when we find that within ourselves it just, just like

Farhad Khan:

that snowballing effect of, like, what's next, like, what's

Farhad Khan:

gonna happen next, what's, you know, what's, what's just

Farhad Khan:

waiting for us around the corner. It's exciting to be able

Farhad Khan:

to create from that free, like, uncontrolled place is just like,

Farhad Khan:

how fun. How cool is that? You know,

Kate Harlow:

yes, and because you, you're, you're at the place

Kate Harlow:

now where you can say, what's next, what's next? My old

Kate Harlow:

business mentor used to say you have to choose one thing to

Kate Harlow:

start that, that that feels really aligned, and give it your

Kate Harlow:

all, which you did with the yoga studio. And then you can be like

Kate Harlow:

Oprah, like she committed to. The TV show and the talk show

Kate Harlow:

for a long time. You know, no matter if the ratings were bad,

Kate Harlow:

no matter what was going on, she committed to that. And now she

Kate Harlow:

can be like, school in Africa, oh magazine, this network,

Kate Harlow:

whatever, oh network or whatever. Like, she can now,

Kate Harlow:

like, in an instant, make something happen. Yeah, be like

Kate Harlow:

you're at that stage now, because you devoted yourself so

Kate Harlow:

fully to Ma, and then you so really the most magical year

Kate Harlow:

yet. It feels like so much of it is connected to purpose, right?

Kate Harlow:

Like, because what we what we spend our time doing, matters,

Kate Harlow:

and so you devoted yourself to this thing that you loved that

Kate Harlow:

was so healing and transformational for you. And

Kate Harlow:

then as you were there, you let yourself evolve. You started

Kate Harlow:

doing sound bull healing. You started doing different types of

Kate Harlow:

sessions. You started tapping into different parts of yourself

Kate Harlow:

there and then tell us, take us on the rest of the story.

Kate Harlow:

Because now it's like, oh, I'm doing the cards. I'm doing the

Kate Harlow:

take us, yeah, on the rest of the journey, yeah.

Farhad Khan:

So basically, you know, when I sold the studio, I

Farhad Khan:

kind of took a little moment to pause. I was dealing with grief.

Farhad Khan:

My mom had passed away in 2020, like, literally, when I sold the

Farhad Khan:

studio, which is very symbolic, and it was, it came as a shock,

Farhad Khan:

you know, Ma, being mother, and my mom, and I was so extremely

Farhad Khan:

close to my mom, like, literally, my best friend, so

Farhad Khan:

that that hit me very hard. And I think that was one thing I

Farhad Khan:

hadn't fully, fully experienced. I mean, I experienced grief in a

Farhad Khan:

lot of ways, but the loss of my mom was like the biggest heart.

Farhad Khan:

Nothing ever could have prepared me for it. And I was so lucky

Farhad Khan:

that I had a yoga practice, because I'm like, wow, how do

Farhad Khan:

people do without some type of spiritual practice? Because that

Farhad Khan:

was really hard. So it was like three months of like being on

Farhad Khan:

the ground. And it's funny, because I sold the studio too,

Farhad Khan:

so it was kind of like a good timing, in a way, because I

Farhad Khan:

needed that time to really go inward with myself and move

Farhad Khan:

through the grief experience, it on a raw level, and really miss

Farhad Khan:

her, that I wanted to literally be dead again. I went back to

Farhad Khan:

that place of like, I just want to be with her. Like, what I got

Farhad Khan:

to live the rest of my life? Like however many years I have

Farhad Khan:

left, seems like a long time without her. And so I then was

Farhad Khan:

kind of like, thinking, I'm gonna send me retire. I didn't,

Farhad Khan:

I didn't really know then, because I was, like, kind of a

Farhad Khan:

bit down. And then I just re sparked the adventure of like,

Farhad Khan:

you know what? I have a gift that I want to keep offering of

Farhad Khan:

service. It healed me then, and through this grief, I can now

Farhad Khan:

commit to this place of helping myself heal with community and

Farhad Khan:

help people going through grief as well now too, because I've

Farhad Khan:

experienced it on such a deep, raw level. And I had known

Farhad Khan:

people along my way who experienced grief, and I really

Farhad Khan:

my heart went out to them, but I didn't fully grasp the pain and

Farhad Khan:

the sadness that comes around it. And then when my mom passed

Farhad Khan:

away, I was like, Oh, wow. Like, this is, this is something

Farhad Khan:

crazy, like this. This is insane, like, I can't even

Farhad Khan:

imagine. And we're not prepared. We're not prepared. We and I

Farhad Khan:

don't think we talk about it enough, or a lot of us didn't

Farhad Khan:

ride in any way. And I think so. Then I did a grief workshop. I

Farhad Khan:

put on my very first grief workshop, and it was very well

Farhad Khan:

attended. It was so beautiful, and it healed me and other

Farhad Khan:

people. We got to share our stories and talk and community

Farhad Khan:

and cry, and it was beautiful. And so I really want to do

Farhad Khan:

another one. I want to do an online grief one. Actually, I'm

Farhad Khan:

thinking about that for the new year, and I just started, then

Farhad Khan:

doing sound baths again, and going to, like, various

Farhad Khan:

locations around the city, in Vancouver, and offering my yoga,

Farhad Khan:

gentle, somatic, therapeutic, gentle movement yogas, some

Farhad Khan:

Kundalini like, I just kind of switch it up, and depending on

Farhad Khan:

where and what the event is, and then I'll do my sound baths,

Farhad Khan:

like the gongs, the bowls and many other sound healing

Farhad Khan:

frequency tools that I use to help the nervous system and calm

Farhad Khan:

the mind. So it's another form of meditation, and I have been

Farhad Khan:

doing it now it's been it's going to be three years since

Farhad Khan:

I've been doing it, and it's just become so beautiful and an

Farhad Khan:

offering that I will continue to do. And through that, it's led

Farhad Khan:

me to many amazing collaborations, connections.

Farhad Khan:

It's expanded into doing shows at the Planetarium at the space

Farhad Khan:

center, so you're astral traveling through the cosmos,

Farhad Khan:

and I'm doing a sound bath with a live vocalist on stage,

Farhad Khan:

narinjin car, who I love her and her voice, and her and I's

Farhad Khan:

journeys were very similar in a lot of ways, too. So we co wrote

Farhad Khan:

like, four songs together, and one is about healing your inner

Farhad Khan:

child called walk your way home. We sing that. We sing that at

Farhad Khan:

the. Event is while we sing live. And you know, she's

Farhad Khan:

brought out this playful singing in me and making music with my

Farhad Khan:

bowls and her voice and my steel drum. And we have a story and a

Farhad Khan:

journey through that. And so this will be our seventh show at

Farhad Khan:

the planetarium, and she's with me at all those shows. And I do

Farhad Khan:

other events around the city too, of course, and just meet

Farhad Khan:

different communities and different pockets now. So I'm

Farhad Khan:

more free than being in one space like I have the studio. I

Farhad Khan:

can go like and all the retreats and doing international local

Farhad Khan:

retreats, and seeing culture and being in community with each

Farhad Khan:

other. And, you know, coming out with the cards, I just launched

Farhad Khan:

my first deck of cards that are just, you know, every it's

Farhad Khan:

called whispers for the heart and soul. So basically, it's

Farhad Khan:

like you pull a card once a day, if you like, or whenever you

Farhad Khan:

want to, and it has like a word, like love or joy, and then it

Farhad Khan:

has like a little write up on that to kind of inspire you,

Farhad Khan:

give you wisdom, some strength in your day to remind us of

Farhad Khan:

things embodied around that word and ourselves. And the artwork

Farhad Khan:

is done by myself and three other local artists, these three

Farhad Khan:

other women I was working with, and we collaborated to do the

Farhad Khan:

artwork on every card. So I'm so proud of it. It's a beautiful it

Farhad Khan:

took me about a year, so that's out now, which is great. And,

Farhad Khan:

yeah, the next just creating more, like, unique opportunities

Farhad Khan:

and workshops and classes that bring, like dance and play and

Farhad Khan:

painting and ceremony, like more rituals, like bringing more

Farhad Khan:

rituals back. You know, we don't have enough of that here on the

Farhad Khan:

West Coast, fourth birth, there's rituals like making

Farhad Khan:

ceremony and offerings, making an altar. It's that sacredness

Farhad Khan:

again, in your day, right? Like, I think that's really important,

Farhad Khan:

and that was one of my major awakenings. Is that spiritual

Farhad Khan:

moment daily, whatever that looks like for you, you can

Farhad Khan:

create your own. That's the beauty of it. But having that

Farhad Khan:

daily, that magical moment to pause in your day for whatever

Farhad Khan:

it is you're doing, and giving yourself that time, and that's

Farhad Khan:

what will get more clarity and purpose and direction of

Farhad Khan:

manifesting more of what it is you love or want to cultivate

Farhad Khan:

more of in your life, you know, but you got to give yourself

Farhad Khan:

that, that self care, nurturing time, right? And and so on my

Farhad Khan:

journey today, all the things I'm doing the wellness line,

Unknown:

you know, I'll talk about that. Talk about wellness

Unknown:

line. And so the

Farhad Khan:

wellness line is like ever since so Michelle,

Farhad Khan:

funny enough, my bestie, who I've known since forever, who

Farhad Khan:

actually told me to do yoga for the first time. She, like, she's

Farhad Khan:

an aesthetician. She does the most amazing facials, and, you

Farhad Khan:

know, does all the skin care stuff. So since I was like, 16,

Farhad Khan:

I would take care of my skin because of her a lot, like, I

Farhad Khan:

was using good skin care and taking care of, like, my skin

Farhad Khan:

and body and stuff. And I still do it today. And I'm like,

Farhad Khan:

Wouldn't it be great create my own, all natural, no synthetic,

Farhad Khan:

no fragrance, like a nice line where, like, it's like the mist

Farhad Khan:

or the toners that I use in some of my events, the essential

Farhad Khan:

oils. And you know, the ritual of every day putting something

Farhad Khan:

on your skin, on your body that we should take care of is just

Farhad Khan:

kind of like another meditation. It's a mindfulness practice,

Farhad Khan:

daily self care, putting those oils on your body feeling good

Farhad Khan:

self care, nurture. That's another component I really

Farhad Khan:

believe, and teaching people to take care of yourself, nurture

Farhad Khan:

this vessel we've been gifted because it also is part of the

Farhad Khan:

soul and that energetic self, it carries it and by doing those

Farhad Khan:

conscious things, like a yoga practice, a dancing practice, a

Farhad Khan:

meditation, a walk in the forest or sitting by the ocean or the

Farhad Khan:

bath with the bath salts, you know, all those things are part

Farhad Khan:

of that time in your day for introspection, self care, and

Farhad Khan:

the more moments we have like that, that relationship with

Farhad Khan:

self that we can build a loving relationship with, that's your

Farhad Khan:

ultimate partner. Is you. The wooing of you. Here we go back

Farhad Khan:

to woo woo you boo, woo you boo, woo you boo, yeah, and it's so

Farhad Khan:

true, though, and it can be very simple. You don't got to spend a

Farhad Khan:

ton of money, and like, you can literally go for a walk, or sit

Farhad Khan:

with a cup of tea, or just sit and listen to music and whatever

Farhad Khan:

brings you that solace and joy. Find the moments the little ones

Farhad Khan:

in your day. Maybe they can be bigger ones, if you have that

Farhad Khan:

grace of time, you know, and then yeah, like for me now,

Farhad Khan:

that's my creative outlet, and that's how I can create more. I

Farhad Khan:

literally had a dream that I did a sound bath in the in the

Farhad Khan:

Planetarium Sky Dome, and then I contacted them, saying, Hey,

Farhad Khan:

would you guys be open to this they've never done? And they're

Farhad Khan:

like, yes. And. On my seventh show, December 23 my seventh

Farhad Khan:

show for winter solstice. And I have three more next year there,

Farhad Khan:

and it's just like it's been so popular and beautiful and

Farhad Khan:

unique, and I love being able to create a different experience

Farhad Khan:

for people. Because typically, you're laying on a yoga mat for

Farhad Khan:

a sound bath of one of my sound bath events. But this is you're

Farhad Khan:

sitting in a big chair, you're watching visuals, you're getting

Farhad Khan:

a sound bath meditation. So it's like inviting in more

Farhad Khan:

inclusivity with people who would never walk into a space

Farhad Khan:

where there's, like yoga mats. And what is this, you know? So

Farhad Khan:

it's opening up people to, like, a way of meditation without them

Farhad Khan:

really knowing it, too. So it's inviting both types of crowds,

Farhad Khan:

all different people. And it's been amazing, and it's so fun.

Farhad Khan:

And, yeah, I'm just gonna keep riding the wave. I'm gonna keep

Farhad Khan:

riding the waves.

Kate Harlow:

Don't stop coming. And it's like, I just, there's

Kate Harlow:

so many threads here. I see. It's like, you follow these

Kate Harlow:

things that are deeply joyful for you or or that they're

Kate Harlow:

deeply serving you and on your own path and your own healing

Kate Harlow:

journey, and then you create a thing so everybody can benefit

Kate Harlow:

from it. It's like ultimate generosity, but you are but, but

Kate Harlow:

you're included. You're not excluded. And also just thinking

Kate Harlow:

how you have such magnetic energy. So as soon as you do

Kate Harlow:

something, it fills you do retreats all over the world. You

Kate Harlow:

have one coming up in India. You have one coming up in where

Kate Harlow:

Egypt

Farhad Khan:

is, south of France, Egypt, a bunch of places

Farhad Khan:

Africa, all over Africa, Okinawa. Okinawa, Japan. I know

Kate Harlow:

Okinawa Japan is coming. I will tell you guys

Kate Harlow:

about that, because that's we can plant the seed here. I

Kate Harlow:

already planted the seed about my healer doing a retreat, but

Kate Harlow:

they don't know that me and you are going to be involved too.

Kate Harlow:

But, like, it's the magnetism, because, you know, it's

Kate Harlow:

interesting, because I can see this perspective, because I used

Kate Harlow:

to be a business coach for a long time, as you know, and I I

Kate Harlow:

really see like that. So many people are trying to fill their

Kate Harlow:

yoga classes, trying to, like, feel like, putting on an event

Kate Harlow:

at the planetarium, and then being stressed out they're not

Kate Harlow:

going to sell the tickets and, and, you know, trying to create

Kate Harlow:

or do business from the mind, and, oh, this thing would sell,

Kate Harlow:

this thing would, you know, make money. This thing would, this is

Kate Harlow:

what people need, even, versus what's different with you is

Kate Harlow:

you're doing these things. It's like the inside out. You're

Kate Harlow:

doing these things because they bring you joy. Like, oh, I want

Kate Harlow:

to go to India and bring a group of people there. I want to go to

Kate Harlow:

Egypt. I want to, I want to share this sound bath. I want to

Kate Harlow:

and it's like for your own joy and your own and you're

Kate Harlow:

connected with yourself so deeply that you bring it to the

Kate Harlow:

community and everyone wants it, because you're not doing it to

Kate Harlow:

get clients, to get like, to to have the next strategic tier of

Kate Harlow:

your business. It's coming from Soul, like it's coming from your

Kate Harlow:

soul. So then it's magnetizing everyone else's soul. So there's

Kate Harlow:

just so much to that.

Farhad Khan:

Well, it's a, you know exactly. It's like it's

Farhad Khan:

coming from a place of the child in me, the playful, the joy

Farhad Khan:

cultivating. What do I want to do? Where do I want to go? What

Farhad Khan:

do I want to see and share with people? Because it excites and

Farhad Khan:

inspires me. I'm embodying it. So it's coming from that place

Farhad Khan:

of authenticity, absolutely, and I think that's part of the

Farhad Khan:

magic, is that when it comes from that place, then it

Farhad Khan:

translates in, like you said, Yes, filling up my workshops and

Farhad Khan:

classes and stuff. It attracts people because I'm inspired.

Farhad Khan:

They're inspired. It's exciting. But don't get me wrong, there's

Farhad Khan:

always that fear of like, oh, are people gonna like, this?

Kate Harlow:

Is it gonna get of course, but always, for sure, I

Kate Harlow:

have that too.

Farhad Khan:

Yeah, it doesn't trump yes to do it. I'm like,

Farhad Khan:

why not? I'm gonna do it because it's fun and I want to do it.

Farhad Khan:

And it's an inner calling and a feeling I'm being, like, guided

Farhad Khan:

or flowing in that direction, like there's a natural,

Farhad Khan:

spiritual pull. So I know when it's a yes, and I know when it's

Farhad Khan:

a no. I feel it in my body. If there's blocks and roadblocks,

Farhad Khan:

I'm like, Okay, no, this is just not happening right now. You

Farhad Khan:

know, like, like me, and you like the podcast like, we've

Farhad Khan:

been talking about doing a podcast for, like, years and

Farhad Khan:

years and years, and we were planting seeds, but we never

Farhad Khan:

forced it. And now, naturally, it's magically happening now,

Farhad Khan:

many years later, you're like, What, you're five years into

Farhad Khan:

your podcast, or something. So, you know, and I love that,

Farhad Khan:

because it's like, when you feel the natural like flow, it's

Farhad Khan:

like, okay, I'm being guided to do this. I'm doing it, and let's

Farhad Khan:

do it. And like, I won't be so scared about the numbers and the

Farhad Khan:

next tier in the business. It's not about that. It's like, at

Farhad Khan:

this time in my life, it's like, what's bringing me joy, what

Farhad Khan:

excites me, what I want to do creatively, and how do I don't

Farhad Khan:

want to express myself and show up at this moment in chapter in

Farhad Khan:

my life, because it changes and it will. And I welcome the

Farhad Khan:

change. I welcome like, what's it going to be in my 40s, 50s,

Farhad Khan:

60s? Like, every chapter is exciting and new every year. So

Farhad Khan:

much can happen in a year. And I love the mystery and being like

Farhad Khan:

going. On the fly being inspired by just something I saw, and be

Farhad Khan:

like, I'm gonna try that or do that, because I want to see

Kate Harlow:

and most people would just stop, like, most

Kate Harlow:

people would just be like, Okay, I have my wellness line now, and

Kate Harlow:

they just put everything into that. And you're like, Oh, what

Kate Harlow:

about this thing? Oh, you're also a manifesting generator. So

Kate Harlow:

that, I think that also plays a part here. But it's like, it's

Kate Harlow:

so cool. It's, it's, you know? And I also was thinking like,

Kate Harlow:

when you are doing something from deep joy, people want to

Kate Harlow:

hang with you, because you're joyful. You feel good, you know,

Kate Harlow:

when you're doing things that feel good for you, people want

Kate Harlow:

to hang with you. So of course they're going to want to come to

Kate Harlow:

India with you. Of course they're going to want to come to

Kate Harlow:

Okinawa with us and Akiko. Of course they're going to want to

Kate Harlow:

go to the next place, right? Because the magnetism is your

Kate Harlow:

energy frequency. That's That's why they're coming. It's not,

Kate Harlow:

you know, yeah, maybe they've always wanted to go to India, or

Kate Harlow:

they've always wanted to go to Egypt, or they've always wanted

Kate Harlow:

to have a sound bath, maybe, maybe not, you know, but it's

Kate Harlow:

your energy frequency and where it's coming from within you that

Kate Harlow:

has everyone that want to hang with you. So I feel like that's

Kate Harlow:

so relevant, even to dating and relationships. You know, if

Kate Harlow:

you're like, empty cup, like, why aren't you making me feel

Kate Harlow:

good, like you do with that person versus the person who's,

Kate Harlow:

you know, in their own joy, in their own creativity, in their

Kate Harlow:

own energy and and then they're magnetic to be around because

Farhad Khan:

they feel good. Yeah, exactly, yeah, no. And

Farhad Khan:

it's like, I guess it's, it can be simple, but it could also be

Farhad Khan:

something that we kind of have to, like, untrain or retrain or

Farhad Khan:

re pattern ourselves into this way of being, this new way of

Farhad Khan:

being for some of us, you know. And I think that, yeah, I

Farhad Khan:

figured out a way that works for me, that keeps me happy and

Farhad Khan:

joyful and creative, and I'm like, it's working, so I'm just

Farhad Khan:

gonna keep going with it. And why not? Why not? Why not? One

Farhad Khan:

life, one life,

Kate Harlow:

woo you boo. We're gonna get T shirts, woo you boo

Kate Harlow:

also. Okay, so tell us before we wrap, because obviously you and

Kate Harlow:

I could just talk forever and ever. We're 88% compatible. And

Kate Harlow:

yeah, I think we're 100% compatible, but we'll see. But I

Kate Harlow:

would love for you to share like so we, of course, we're going to

Kate Harlow:

link everything below. Some people don't look at the show

Kate Harlow:

notes. So for those people that don't look at the show notes,

Kate Harlow:

can you share all the like, the names of your website and where

Kate Harlow:

people will find information about well, where they can order

Kate Harlow:

the oracle cards and where they can check out your wellness

Kate Harlow:

line? Yeah.

Farhad Khan:

So far, had con sound.com or farhadcon

Farhad Khan:

wellness.com would be like my two sites, the wellness line,

Farhad Khan:

I'm actually relaunching, I'm changing the look of it. So in

Farhad Khan:

the spring, I'm doing a relaunch of it, just kind of rebranding a

Farhad Khan:

little bit, and new bottles, new packaging, like, really nice. So

Farhad Khan:

that's exciting, but you can still check out what I currently

Farhad Khan:

have. And then my Instagram handles are usually the most up

Farhad Khan:

to date, because that's where I'm on a lot with my events. So

Farhad Khan:

my far head Khan Instagram, and then far headcon sound, other

Farhad Khan:

Instagram, far headcon wellness. And I do have far headcon art

Farhad Khan:

and DJ Farhad Khan because I like music. No, really, I got

Farhad Khan:

into DJing because I do a lot of, like yoga classes, and I

Farhad Khan:

love creating my own playlist that the music seamlessly weaves

Farhad Khan:

into each other. So I know too, like it's all timed, like I take

Farhad Khan:

people on a yoga journey, essentially, and I love music is

Farhad Khan:

such a big part of it, and movement with music. So I really

Farhad Khan:

think of that and what I want to have during a certain part in

Farhad Khan:

the practice. And so I learned to DJ because I'm like, I'm just

Farhad Khan:

going to learn to mix my own music and create what I want for

Farhad Khan:

my playlists. And rather than like, next song pause next song

Farhad Khan:

volume up to this volume down. I'm just like, No, I'm gonna do

Farhad Khan:

it all perfectly, and I've done that, and I love it, and it's

Farhad Khan:

fun.

Kate Harlow:

Another, oh, my god, Kay, I have to say one

Kate Harlow:

thing, because I remember something I was gonna say

Kate Harlow:

earlier that this is relevant to it. It's like, hearing your

Kate Harlow:

story. I imagine everyone's feeling so inspired, your most

Kate Harlow:

magical year yet. Like we are the creators. We are the CO

Kate Harlow:

creators. We get to choose hearing your story. It's like,

Kate Harlow:

you just keep meeting new parts of yourself, like, now I'm a

Kate Harlow:

singer and I'm doing an album with this woman and putting on

Kate Harlow:

shows at the planetarium. Now I'm like, now I'm a DJ. Now I'm

Kate Harlow:

a rapper, now I'm an artist. Now I'm making these spiritual

Kate Harlow:

cards. Like, we're infinite, really, and I feel like you

Kate Harlow:

might be a scientist next year. You might be a mathematician.

Farhad Khan:

Who am I now? Who am I now? But it's like all of

Farhad Khan:

these things. It's a tapestry. It's a tapestry. It's like you

Farhad Khan:

don't need to be like one thing. You can be go for it, but like

Farhad Khan:

I'm just, like, I'm just having fun with like, pain. Painting,

Farhad Khan:

music, practice, sound, bath, like I want to do all the things

Farhad Khan:

I want to have fun and be inspired to do. And it's yeah,

Farhad Khan:

that comes back to, why not? Like, just if it's in you, if

Farhad Khan:

that desire and fire is stoked, go for it. Go have fun and play

Farhad Khan:

the little boy never really got a lot of play, you know. So I'm

Farhad Khan:

living his best life at this time, and it feels wonderful.

Farhad Khan:

And I'm just going to keep going with that. Because, yeah, look,

Farhad Khan:

I'm, you know, DJ and the art and the wellness line and all

Farhad Khan:

the sound and the practices and the yoga and and, yeah, I'm

Farhad Khan:

going to keep adding to that and and having fun, and because I

Farhad Khan:

want to, the desire is there, the enjoyment and fulfillment,

Farhad Khan:

it's, it's a way of play and, and I think that's, you know,

Farhad Khan:

really important in life we take there's, like you mentioned,

Farhad Khan:

there's so much happening in the world. It's confusing. There's

Farhad Khan:

so much hardship, there's a lot of dark and a lot of people

Farhad Khan:

running the planet that you know may maybe aren't making the best

Farhad Khan:

decisions. There's a lot of hurt and war and tragedies you know,

Farhad Khan:

so creating as much light as we can and joy to help balance that

Farhad Khan:

energy out a little bit, I think is really key and vital for our

Farhad Khan:

human race, getting off of the devices so much and dancing,

Farhad Khan:

embodying ritual sacredness, paints make music sing. Yes, I'm

Farhad Khan:

going to be recording an album next year with norinjun. I'm so

Farhad Khan:

excited. Writing music has been so healing for me and her, and I

Farhad Khan:

know she's been writing some music too, and poetry, and we're

Farhad Khan:

weaving those parts in. And it's, it's another healing

Farhad Khan:

journey. You're writing your book as well. Like, I love this

Farhad Khan:

right?

Kate Harlow:

It's if there, if there wasn't someone who taught

Kate Harlow:

us that there's, there's, like, a right way and a wrong way,

Kate Harlow:

right like, because as as you're talking, I'm just like, God,

Kate Harlow:

this is what kids do. They write, they play, they sing,

Kate Harlow:

they dance, they create. They make up stories. They make up

Kate Harlow:

movies. They make up like they perform. They, they love, they

Kate Harlow:

they they feel, they cry, they rage, they like. Little kids are

Kate Harlow:

the perfect example of of just that fully expressed soul. So if

Kate Harlow:

you couldn't do it wrong, like, I just think, like, you say all

Kate Harlow:

these magical things, and then I can hear women's saboteurs in

Kate Harlow:

their minds saying, like, oh, I can, you know, I'm not a good

Kate Harlow:

artist, or I'm not a writer, I'm not a this, I'm not that. It's

Kate Harlow:

like, that's just a story. We are all everything, and all you

Kate Harlow:

have to do is do it over and over and over again and play

Kate Harlow:

this way and play that way, and do it from non attachment, like,

Kate Harlow:

for the joy of it, for the experience of it. I went to

Kate Harlow:

dance class high heels, you know, in so, in high heels and

Kate Harlow:

fishnet stockings and underwear and torque. I remember hair

Kate Harlow:

flipping, and I like, I sucked, and I was with a whole bunch of

Kate Harlow:

really good dancers, and it was a beginner class, but I was so

Kate Harlow:

bad, and I let myself be. I was like,

Farhad Khan:

you know, I got better. You were good, and you

Farhad Khan:

became something. I became. Was like, oh, there is, there's,

Farhad Khan:

there's, Miss Harlow,

Kate Harlow:

yes, yeah, I became something that's it, right? But

Kate Harlow:

in the beginning I was awkward, but I welcomed that too. I was

Kate Harlow:

like, Okay, I'm just gonna dance awkwardly and feel and, you

Kate Harlow:

know, my mind's telling me, everyone's judging me, and

Kate Harlow:

meanwhile, everyone's watching themselves like nobody cares. So

Kate Harlow:

it's just like, like you said, Bring playfulness to it, bring

Kate Harlow:

lightness to it, bring joy to it, and let yourself be weird

Kate Harlow:

and awkward, and you'll discover so many new parts of yourself,

Kate Harlow:

like you have, and how beautiful your tapestry keeps growing. And

Kate Harlow:

I can't wait to see what's to come. Like, yeah, and,

Farhad Khan:

you know, and I think a lot of it, too is like,

Farhad Khan:

it's that inner voice, that inner self, and we have many of

Farhad Khan:

them within us. And get to know that inner voice that tells you,

Farhad Khan:

like, oh, it's weird. I can't like, that's maybe the biggest

Farhad Khan:

one, because the outside projections, like you said,

Farhad Khan:

they're not really thinking that much of us. So people are going

Farhad Khan:

to talk maybe for a minute, and then they're in their own world

Farhad Khan:

and universe, and they've carried on. But it's what's

Farhad Khan:

lingering within ourselves, is that voice sometimes and so

Farhad Khan:

really develop that loving relationship and nurturing it,

Farhad Khan:

and talk to it and be like, You know what? Let's, let's be

Farhad Khan:

kinder to ourselves. Let's try that. Let's explore and think of

Farhad Khan:

the outcome ahead of time. If you're one of those people that

Farhad Khan:

already is more negative and fearful, think of go to all the

Farhad Khan:

steps to the end of it. Okay, so I do it and it fails. Okay. Now,

Farhad Khan:

what do we do? Okay, it can be a lesson. It can take me to the

Farhad Khan:

next thing. At least I tried it like, figure out the worst case

Farhad Khan:

scenario and make it better. Talk to yourself, to that little

Farhad Khan:

child, as if you're saying the worst thing that can happen, and

Farhad Khan:

then tell that. Child, it's okay, like, do it anyway, or,

Farhad Khan:

you know what you learned, or, Hey, play with this next time.

Farhad Khan:

Or whatever you know. Like, it's almost like, let yourself go to

Farhad Khan:

the fear. Move through face the fear. And through it is the

Farhad Khan:

magic. The light is right behind that dark veil, and open

Kate Harlow:

that door totally. That door Yes, and it's, it's

Kate Harlow:

only that little kid that feels like all the fear, and only

Kate Harlow:

because they were shamed in school for not being a perfect

Kate Harlow:

artist or a perfect writer or perfect whatever. And like this

Kate Harlow:

school system, you know, and many other systems, have taught

Kate Harlow:

us to to suppress and squash these parts of ourselves that

Kate Harlow:

that that, because it would be a very different world if we were

Kate Harlow:

all expressed in these parts of ourselves. So be the change in

Kate Harlow:

the world you'll wish to see. This is such a fun conversation.

Kate Harlow:

Okay, before we wrap, tell us your retreat schedule, like

Kate Harlow:

what's coming? Because definitely there's this is

Kate Harlow:

there's women all over the world that listen to the podcast, and

Kate Harlow:

I have a lot of community in Vancouver that listen to so I

Kate Harlow:

know you got lots of local events as well. So share them

Kate Harlow:

all.

Farhad Khan:

I mean, I have so many coming up next year. I have

Farhad Khan:

India, which is January, but that's going to be really tight

Farhad Khan:

for people to come when this airs. And then I have a local

Farhad Khan:

one at loom Lake, Salt Spring Island. I'm doing my first

Farhad Khan:

Silent Retreat. I'm going to lead a silent one for three days

Farhad Khan:

for introspection. It's very powerful. And then

Kate Harlow:

Moon Lake in Salt Spring Island, for those of you

Kate Harlow:

that don't know, is in British Columbia. If you've never

Farhad Khan:

been you want to go Vancouver, yeah, Vancouver and

Farhad Khan:

Vancouver Island. And then I'm going to be doing south of

Farhad Khan:

France, Egypt. There is a whole bunch coming up. If you go to my

Farhad Khan:

website under retreats, you can find that under trainings, you

Farhad Khan:

can find trainings that I do online and in person for sound

Farhad Khan:

healing. I do coaching. I do private offerings as well. I

Farhad Khan:

have a treatment room in my home, which is lovely. I see

Farhad Khan:

clients privately for many things, which all my offerings

Farhad Khan:

are on my website, so you can check that out and just explore.

Farhad Khan:

And I'd love to see anyone at an event. There's lots of events

Farhad Khan:

around the city, in Vancouver mainly, but I do do some

Farhad Khan:

internationally, ones that are coming up next year too. So

Farhad Khan:

yeah, just gonna get out there and hope to meet a lot of

Farhad Khan:

wonderful people and build bigger communities around the

Farhad Khan:

world.

Kate Harlow:

You are magic, and there's no one in the world that

Kate Harlow:

could fit this episode better than you, your most magical year

Kate Harlow:

yet with I mean, you blow me away. I could cry just

Kate Harlow:

everything you've been through and and, and the fact that I've

Kate Harlow:

known you since I was 19, and I've seen you transform and

Kate Harlow:

alchemize and transform and alchemize and go through so much

Kate Harlow:

and transform and alchemize. It has been like an honor to walk

Kate Harlow:

this life with you. I love you so much.

Farhad Khan:

I love you too, and it takes one to know one you two

Farhad Khan:

right back at you. Kate, you're doing amazing, and I love what

Farhad Khan:

you're doing, and I'm so excited to continue the journey with

Farhad Khan:

you, with creating fun things in the future.

Kate Harlow:

Yeah. Me too. Lots of fun things coming. Okinawa,

Kate Harlow:

march 2027, put in your calendar. There will be three

Kate Harlow:

magical souls leading that one, it sounds like so if you're

Kate Harlow:

interested, I've actually already had a lot of interest.

Kate Harlow:

So if you are interested in, if you've watched the Blue Zones,

Kate Harlow:

Okinawa is a blue zone. It's the Hawaii of Japan. It's a

Kate Harlow:

beautiful island, similar to Kauai, I think they say off of

Kate Harlow:

Japan. And Japan is such a hot spot right now. I've been

Kate Harlow:

longing to go there for a while. It's top of my list, and so it's

Kate Harlow:

it life is bringing us there. And with my magical healer, who

Kate Harlow:

I met in Nairobi, who's from Japan, she's absolutely amazing,

Kate Harlow:

and her mother is from Okinawa. So it'll be also a cultured

Kate Harlow:

experience and a really beautiful we don't even know

Kate Harlow:

what it is yet, but it's going to be magical and fun.

Kate Harlow:

Absolutely there. Definitely let us know if you're interested and

Kate Harlow:

any final words. So this is it's those, are those who are

Kate Harlow:

listening. Tuesday, it's the 30th. New Year's Eve is

Kate Harlow:

tomorrow. We're moving into 2026, which is the Year of the

Kate Harlow:

Fire horse, moving out of the snake. So a lot this year's a

Kate Harlow:

lot of transition, letting go big transformation and moving

Kate Harlow:

into new beginnings. So what? What final words do you have for

Kate Harlow:

your most magical year yet. I mean, I think you've said a lot

Kate Harlow:

of things,

Farhad Khan:

but you know what? And it's, I'm actually the year

Farhad Khan:

of the horse. That's my year. I'm the horse. Yeah. So 78 baby.

Farhad Khan:

So the snake has been powerful, shedding a lot of self things,

Farhad Khan:

shedding skin, and really fluidly moving like the serpent

Farhad Khan:

does, right? That Kundalini energy is really just awakened

Farhad Khan:

and creating boundaries with people for healthy space, and

Farhad Khan:

that's a shedding to move forward and now with the horse,

Farhad Khan:

it's going to be such a powerful, beautiful year. I'm so

Farhad Khan:

excited. It's just really both feet in faith. Face forward,

Farhad Khan:

heart, open and collaborate, manifest. Keep creating magic.

Farhad Khan:

And I wish that for everyone listening and everyone around

Farhad Khan:

like, just go for it. You know, go for it and have a beautiful

Farhad Khan:

year ahead. Happy New Year and be free. Be your best self and

Farhad Khan:

live it up.

Unknown:

Yeah, I love it, living it up in the city, wherever you

Unknown:

live world, love it so much the whole world.

Kate Harlow:

Love you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. This

Kate Harlow:

was Magic. I'm so happy we did this. Me too. And as always,

Kate Harlow:

share this episode with every woman you know who needs to hear

Kate Harlow:

it and who needs a boost for the coming year, and share it with

Kate Harlow:

men.

Farhad Khan:

I feel like this, yeah, I think, I think people

Farhad Khan:

share this with everyone, everyone, people, persons, all,

Farhad Khan:

I

Unknown:

love it, all the people love you. Happy. New Year.

Unknown:

Happy. New Year.
