Speaker:

Dr. Mike Van Thielen: So what we need to understand when it comes to chronic disease is that it can be stopped at any given seconds. You just need to make that decision, because chronic disease is basically an evolution of symptoms.

Speaker:

Dr. Fab Mancini: This is Dr Fab Mancini. I'm so excited because I have Dr. Mike Van Thielen, which is a dear friend, a mentor, somebody that I learned so much of because not only had he spent his life being a doctor of physical therapy, but also a PhD in holistic nutrition and a best selling author speaker, one of the most motivational speakers that I've ever heard on the subject of health, as you will find out today, but somebody that actually leaves his message and as we're having this discussion of ending chronic disease, I just felt like we needed to have somebody at his caliber to bring great insights as to what you can do to actually improve your health and well being so. Dr, Mike, it's such a pleasure to see you again. You're one of my favorite people in the world, and I've been looking forward to this interview.

Speaker:

Dr. Mike Van Thielen: Well, thanks again for having me. Dr, Feb, always a pleasure talking to you. Well, you know you have shared with me tremendous insights over the last few years that we've gotten to know each other, and you are a great leader in the world of bio hacking and training, not only providers like me, in how to be able to improve the health and the human potential that we all have. And I noticed that in your in the past, you keep mentioning health is the norm and disease is the exception. Let's start there. Tell me a little bit about what is the norm. Why do you say health is the norm where there are so many sick people out there in the world? Yeah, no, I keep saying that that's correct, and here's why. Because I work with individuals with chronic disease, and I think many times you need the individual to participate and make decisions with you, not just tell them what to do, because if they don't know why you're telling them to do something, then it's just not going to work. They're not going to be compliant for a long time. So there's a few concepts you need to understand, and this is one of those important concepts, because, you know, there are laws of human life. One of the better books out there is the laws of human life, by Herbert Sheldon. And so one of those laws of human life is the law of self preservation, which basically means, as long as we are breathing air, our body will strive for perfect health no matter what. So then the question become, why are so many of us struggling and in chronic disease? If the body is trying to heal us all the time? Well, you know, it's because we don't understand that the body can heal itself. And so instead of intervening, meaning using drugs, prescription medication, injections and surgeries, thinking that would solve or give us a long, lasting results. I beg to differ. I think we need to step back and let the body heal itself and put it in a state of balance and homeostasis. And so the best way that I have my patients understand this is just talk a little bit on numbers. Right? We all know we have 40 trillion cells. We can't fan them. What that means 40 trillion, but we have 40 trillion cells. But to go a little bit further, each one of those cells as a few 100 to a few 100,000 mitochondria, those are our energy factories that produce that ATP, right? So now 40 trillion times a few 100 or a few 100,000 and each of those mitochondria produces 2 billion ATP molecules per minute per minute. Why do we need so much much energy? Well, we need to sustain the 1.8 quadrillion chemical reactions per second, right? So this, this is mind boggling, and to think that we as humans can give a medication or an injection or take out a gallbladder and have a positive effect on that very delicate system, is a little bit arrogant, I would say. So what we need to learn from this is we need to step aside and we need to say, Okay, we have a system of body that, by the law of human life, can fix itself. So what is our job? Our job is to give it the right tools and put it in the correct condition so that it can do its job of healing. And that's why people need to start, you know, putting in foundational elements into place, such as drinking enough water, getting enough sunlight, of course, having a good diet. You know, upgrading their mind, upgrading their body, but I think it's a concept that we need to understand and the patients too, because it's not just getting another pill, another medication, another injection. It's as they already know. Dr fab, it's a vicious circle of worse and worse conditions, right? So we can break that anytime we want to.

Speaker:

Dr. Fab Mancini: So you know, Dr Mike, every time I talk to you, one of the things that I'm admired about you is that you were trained very traditional, in all of your degrees. And most people don't know also that you've been an Olympic athlete and you've been in this space for a long time. But we know that our healthcare system is broken, and you know that many of the ways that we were trained were not the proper way that the body heals. We also have the majority of the population out there going to a traditional medical doctor for their particular answers, right, which seem to be, for the most part, pharmaceutical, maybe from time to time, surgical in nature, what do you feel people need to understand as you transition into the functional space which you have become a leader in that space? What do you feel the average person should really evaluate as they're meeting with their medical doctors, traditional healthcare being offered a bill or pharma outfit, and in some cases, being told they need to take this for the rest of their life, right? What do you think that they need to really ask themselves and potentially research as to that there is another world out there that is solving some of these problems in a very natural, holistic, and, more importantly, safer way.

Speaker:

Dr. Mike Van Thielen: Yeah, no. Great question, because we know, especially the older generations, they still put so much value on their doctor, right? That's how they grew up. The doctor knows it all. And you know, they do know a lot of stuff, but you know, they only have a few tools in their tool bag, and maybe three, like I always say medicines, injections and surgeries and those tools, you know, please, I would receive those tools if I get in a car accident, right and I end up in emergency room, please save my life. These tools, they have a value, but there's another 1000 tools that they don't explore and don't know much about, because it's the way they're educated. So yes, we can blame our healthcare professionals. We can blame the government. We can blame the Big Pharma. We can blame the fake news and those commercials. We can for sure, but it's time that we take control and responsibility for our own health and that of our loved ones. So let's stop blaming and let's start figuring out on how we can help ourselves and our loved ones. And theoretically, it's actually very simple. And so what we need to understand when it comes to chronic disease is that it can be stopped at any given seconds. You just need to make that decision, because chronic disease is basically an evolution of symptoms, right? I often give this simple example. When we're in our 20s or 30s, we get a symptom of acid reflux, right, you know? And so we go to the doctor and we get that purple pill, Nexium, right, which suppresses the symptoms, but we're not addressing the cause, right? The doctor is not saying, Hey, you should you watch what you eat, or you should not combine carbohydrates with proteins, or you should not eat food after a big meal, because there's different enzymes and different PHS that our stomach needs to break down carbs versus proteins. Proteins need pepsin, carbohydrates need amylase, and they need a different pH. So if you eat them together, like a spaghetti with meatballs or a meatball sub, or a steak with mashed potatoes or fries, then obviously the body is going to say, Oh, what do I do now? So it needs to prioritize. It's going to break down those proteins first. But now the carbs have to wait about four to five hours, and while they're waiting, they are what fermenting. So instead of having healthy nutrients from the carbs, you're going to get toxins, and that's where indigestion and acid reflux and stuff starts. But no, the doctor's not going to educate you on how to immediately stop that and prevent that, because it could be totally disappearing in two weeks, but it's going to prescribe a prescription. So now you're not addressing the cause, you're suppressing the symptoms, and what happens one to two decades later, you end up with stomach ulcers once more, the doctor's not going to tell you what to do about it or what's causing it. Gonna just cut out those ulcers, as if that's the solution, right, and then another decade later, you end up with stomach cancer. So this is just to illustrate that at any given second, with simple advice on lifestyle and diet that could be prevented at any single moment. And we can give that example with any chronic disease, because many times I thought this is interesting to mention too, when people, when people do die, and there's an autopsy, and you look at the report, ah, this person died of a heart attack. No, the person didn't die of a heart attack. The heart attack was the last symptom. You know what the cause of death was. Decades and decades of abusing the body and poor lifestyle choices, that's the cause. The last symptom is heart attack. Oh, they died of cancer. Autopsy says cancer. Cancer doesn't just pop up. It's something that continues to evaluate or progress over years and years and years, not just today, right? So people need. To understand that even if they are suffering from a chronic disease, whether it's rheumatoid Artis or lupus or cancer or you name it, COPD, we can stop this progression right now, but you need to decide it well,

Speaker:

Dr. Fab Mancini: You know, it's interesting, because we noticed over the last few months and even the last few years, this America make America healthy again movement, and even when the administration began to talk about, let's address the root causes of the problem. Let's begin to leverage Natural Health Sciences instead of depending always on pharma and surgeries, which are primarily managing our symptoms but not really solving it. That's why the statistics are so great. So I love the fact that you gonna teach me to look at the root cause. What's causing this in the first place, I as a consumer, as an individual, can make a decision to say, You know what? That decision is not gonna help me long term or even short term. Let's change the decision. So that takes what we call a mindset that what is the power of the mind when it comes to looking at ourselves a chronic disease, and I look at it in a different way. I look at you as a professional athlete, and let's say you become my coach. What do you think as an athlete, right? As an individual, should be my mindset to get me ready to be able to begin to not only recognize the better behaviors to help me be healthy, but more importantly, come up with new behaviors and get out of my comfort zone that can actually not only make me healthier, but actually get me to live longer, higher quantity of life, be happier, etc. So what is the role of mindset when it comes to chronic disease? In your opinion? Yeah,

Speaker:

Dr. Mike Van Thielen: I think it's, it's maybe the number one important thing. Because, you know, like you said, I did physical education. I got a world record in swimming. I'm into physical therapy was always about the body, but the last decade also hanging around with you and all your amazing people at your events, Dr fat, it becomes more and more evident that the mind is the most powerful piece in the puzzle, and especially our patients have no clue about that. They have not been told about that either. But it becomes evident because with the knowledge that you and I have now, when we look at our patients, we can actually see what's happening, right? Because if a patient is diagnosed with a disease, let's say, because I call it a label, cancer, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, consciously or unconsciously, that very negative word is sitting there in our subconscious mind, whether we're thinking about it or not, and if the doctor tells the patient, you will probably die within the next year because of this cancer, and if the patient believes that, then the doctor is going to be exactly right and exactly on. So that's how powerful the mind is. The mind is the blueprint to not our to our future and to our failures and successes, but it also 100% not 99 controls your health and your disease. It controls it 100% and I've delved into this more and more over the last few years, and especially the last few months, and so I'm working very strong on myself too to get to that next level. But with my patients now, I have seven foundations that I teach them, and the first thing that we're gonna have to start implementing is that mindset, because we're all obviously, you know, limited by our past, because we label those lessons that we learnt, we label them as failures. And so we are very limited based on our past experiences, whether it's our own experiences, our parents, our loved ones, or even previous generations. We're limited by those and so we need to start to changing, you know that belief system, and you know, Mohamed Gandhi basically was very clear on how life progresses, right? Our thoughts that we thinking. If we repeat our thoughts, those becomes our beliefs, our beliefs we're going to act upon. So those become our actions, and those actions then basically create our character, and eventually create our life, our existence, on who we are. So it starts with your thoughts, and so most people are not thinking about what they're thinking. It just happens, right? But if you constantly think, I'm sick, I have cancer, I gotta go to the doctor, I probably won't get better. I'll probably die soon. If that's what your thought is, then that's what's gonna be reality, right? So especially with patients with chronic disease. And if you're listening and you have chronic disease, the first thing you gotta start working on is the thoughts you're thinking. And there's much help out there from Dr fab, from myself, and many people experts in this area. Even if you go on YouTube, you know, listen to what Jodi spends up. There are. Techniques and tools that we can use at no cost to start training and rewiring our brain by thinking differently. Anytime you catch yourself with a negative thought, you know we need to. We need to recognize that, oh, I'm thinking something negative, then reframe it in something positive. And if we keep doing that, we start to rewire. So I'll my patients now to rewire their brain thinking positive. And instead of focusing on this dirty word cancer or rheumatoid arthritis or COPD or emphysema, we're gonna say no. What we're gonna do is we're gonna overcome this, and we're gonna be projected by our future, which means what we're gonna overcome this disease in just a few months, because it doesn't have to take long. We're gonna live happy. We're gonna be able to play 18 holes of golf. We're gonna be able to see our grandkids grow up, and I'm gonna be 100 years and still be golfing. And so that's the mindset, and that's what we're gonna be pulled forward by. And I believe if we can do that with our chronic disease patients, then all the other stuff that we do as physicians, whether it's chiropractor or sunlight or water or hydrogen or PMF, all these tools will work much better if that mindset is there, because if we make them believe that those things work, then they're gonna work. If they say, Ah, I'll try it, but I don't believe it's gonna work, then it doesn't matter how good that equipment is. And so I've been convinced of that today, that upgrading that mind and really working with the thoughts you think, the words you speak, and then acting upon those things is something that all of practitioners need to start integrating, but patients themselves can start working on that today without spending any dollar.

Speaker:

Dr. Fab Mancini: Well, you know, one of the things that I've been a little bit concerned about it, I know you are, too, is the health of our children. And there may be a lot of parents right now listening and watching this and saying to themselves, you know, what can I do to ensure that even though I may not be making the best choices? How can I encourage my children to make better choices so that way they have a less less likely chance to develop a chronic disease like heart disease, cancer, arthritis, obesity, chronic pain? I mean, there's so many of them. What do you think are some of the best advice that you've been able to give some of your parents patients, to be able to get their kids in the right frame of mind and in the right frame of behaviors, to actually become disease free when it comes to chronic illnesses?

Speaker:

Dr. Mike Van Thielen: No, it's great, but our kids, they are our environment, right? They learn from us, the parents. So the best solution is for you to set the example. And it doesn't matter if you're 5060, 7080, today, it doesn't matter. You can change your course right now, and if you change that course without even telling them, they will see that you suddenly are healthy, more vital, not fatigue, picking up the phone, asking to play golf, whatever it may be. And they will ask you, what happened? What did you do? And then you just tell them, I think it's by setting the example, because we all know we need to drink enough water, we should spend more time in the sunlight, we should eat healthier. And of course, we need to do those things, because that's what we talked about, and putting that body in a balance, in a homeostasis, so it has the tools and the possibilities to help and heal itself. So yes, we still need to do that, but I think as parents, we need to just set the example and start acting differently. And like you said, Dr Thep, getting out of that comfort zone because we've been doing the same thing over and over, and it's not giving us this different results. So when is it time to actually do something different and see if the results would be different? Well, that time is now, but

Speaker:

Dr. Fab Mancini: I love it, and I know that you still take care of some patients, and you do virtual care, which is also wonderful, because I know you have some of the most influential people out there as your patients, but you came up with this system, limitless Lab, which you've been teaching people how to really live a limitless life, you know, and have limitless health. Tell me a little bit about how somebody that may be listening to this, and what is the primary value that this program offers somebody that may be experiencing right now one of these chronic diseases, and how they can benefit from that?

Speaker:

Dr. Mike Van Thielen: Yeah, no, that's a great question, and I'm so proud, because I worked the last month so hard on making this affordable for everybody, because I was using it for elite athletes and entrepreneurs, and it was expensive because it was a one on one time. So I was able to make this an online course with 62 videos and five modules, because it's not gonna require my time. It's as cheap as a cup of coffee per. Day. So there's no excuses for everybody to start this limitless lab journey. And it's basically a membership. So you you know, you pay a low fee, and you have access, not just to the online course with the limitless lab, but also the community, where you can interact with other people to upcoming seminars. So you always stay on top of this. And I have doctors and entrepreneurs as well as patients that are part of that community. But I just started the community because it was always a virtual, online training and one on one training. And so now we're starting to, just like you doing Dr Fauci, love it. We need to reach the masses, and we need to make it affordable for everybody. And so we only have 24 hours, so we need to leverage and scale, and that's what I've done with this limitless lab course, is make it affordable and accessible to everybody. But to answer your question, obviously we will talk about all the things in we talked about today on how do I optimize my immune system without going to a doctor. How do I listen to the warning signs of my water? How do I repair my DNA? What are the seven foundations of health? How much water do I drink? How much? Why do I have to be in the sunlight? All those questions are answered, but it goes a little bit further, because I talk about a foundation first, we first need to find a purpose in life, right? A lot of us, they don't even know what our purpose is, and we need to find excitement, passion and fulfillment in what we do. And usually it comes down to the same thing. And you know very well, it's about, how can I use my strengths to help other people? Because it's when you are service to other people that's when you become holy yourself. And so the first module is about purpose, and many exercises that we can do to counter, you know, get closer to ask ourselves and do exercises, what is our purpose? And purposes may change throughout life. Of course. Then the second part is what I think is very important, especially people with mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, is really talk about planning, because we are bombarded. Today. We've already over 14,000 messages, and so most of us are overwhelmed. They're worried. We don't know what tomorrow brings, next week brings. And so if we worried, if we're uncertain and fear, those negative emotions again, they will shape us. And so we need to plan on how to we need to put a system in place to create the chaos that comes to us. And so Module two is all about planning and saving time and getting organized, getting in control of our life, our calendar, because control creates clarity, and clarity gets rid of all the stress. So that's number two, and then number three and four. Module number three talks about, how can we be present in the moment? Because most of us live in the past or in the future, but we're never here, enjoying our family, enjoying our life and finding that fulfillment. So we teach that in module number three, module number four is all about upgrading the body and the mind. So what we talked about today you will find in module four and then the last module, basically, because there's many worksheets you're gonna take, all the elements of all those modules that you align with, that resonate with you, that work for you, because some people are good at meditation. I'm not. Dr, fab, I can't clear my mind. But if I do breath work and I really focus on my breath, then suddenly everything else clears. So certain elements work for me, but not for somebody else. So what are we going to do is we're going to identify the elements that work for you and mold them into what I call a power routine, something that you do every single day. Morning. I have four routines, morning routine, evening routine, a dream routine and a bio hiking routine. And when we implement those things on a daily basis, we don't skip those, then we're gonna make amazing, you know, significant improvements in such a short time, because people don't realize the incremental steps, you know, that we can the significant improvements we can make if we just take 1020, minutes per day, but we do it consistently. And so that's how you get to the next level, whether it's in business, whether it's in your personal life, whether it's in your health or inner peace, the limitless lap works for everybody, because it's about maximizing your performance of your life through self optimization. So I'm not teaching you how to wrestle, how to win the Olympic Games in track and field, or how to begin become a financial advisor. I don't know anything about those things, but I know that if I teach you on how to self, optimize yourself, upgrade your body, in your mind, that you're going to perform better no matter what you do in life.

Speaker:

Dr. Fab Mancini: Well, you know, I've lived it, and for those of you that are listening, I told you they were going to be inspired today. And if you feel I'm going to put Dr Mike's information so you can actually check out his program and his membership program, because he's made it accessible to everyone out there. There is no excuse anymore to actually begin this journey and how you can optimize your health. But also remember, you're learning from one of the top. Leaders in the healthcare space that has actually done it for many others, believes it every single day. So thank you, Dr Mike, for your time, for all the incredible wisdom that you share with us, but also your passion, because it's obvious that you live this and you're very passionate about it, and sometimes we could use a little bit of that passion when it comes to making healthy choices every single day. So thank you for coming. Thanks everybody for listening, and please check Dr Mike out. I know that you would enjoy very much learning from him, but more importantly, you get a taste of what is available to you if you choose to make the right choices, remember exercise your mindset, because your mindset sets the foundation for the behaviors that you're going to be acting on. So thank you so much. I will see you soon.
