Unique Leaders: Scott Simmons

Unique Leaders: Scott Simmons

Megan speaks with Scott about how an ultra positive outlook on life can manifest success and movement in the right direction.

Scott is from southern West Virginia. He has a bother and they grew up in the lower middle class. Their
parents worked very hard to give them opportunities. Both their parents were a part of large families and
they both worked hard. They also pushed both Scott and his brother during their childhood to work hard
to be in successful jobs. They were also raised by their aunt who was a big part of their life. She was
never married and never had her own children, but she was always there for them growing up. During his senior year he was doing his high school classes, college classes, playing baseball and working at a local fitness place. He was working close to 60 hours a week. His parents, especially his dad, lived in the scarcity mindset. He would push Scott and his brother to save and make sure they work hard to have enough. Scott did not want to continue to live his life that way. He learned a lot from his dad in terms of
finances and his work ethic.Scott has always had a happy heart. He believes this comes from his mother. He chooses to be kind to
others and not make enemies. If someone wishes him ill will, he acknowledges that and moves on. He has
bad days like everyone, but he works hard to be positive for his business team. He’s a leader and he
believes positivity in the workplace is important. He is married to a beautiful wife of 20 years and he has one daughter and a son. He feels very blessed to have the family that he has. He does wish they did have more children but he does mentor
kids in the local area that are going through tough times with family life or other places.
