Kalee Boisvert:

Kalee Boisvert:

Kaylee. And thank you so much for tuning into this episode of

Kalee Boisvert:

the wealth and wellness podcast. Really excited for today's guest

Kalee Boisvert:

in our conversation today. Very wellness focused, we can all use

Kalee Boisvert:

a little bit more of that in our lives. So our special guest

Kalee Boisvert:

today is hope Pedraza who is a certified holistic nutritionist,

Kalee Boisvert:

a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition practitioner. And

Kalee Boisvert:

she's the host of her own podcast, hopeful and wholesome

Kalee Boisvert:

hope helps career driven women to heal their gut, balance their

Kalee Boisvert:

minds and feel good in their bodies again. And she is a mom,

Kalee Boisvert:

a serial entrepreneur and founder of a Pilates based

Kalee Boisvert:

franchise in balanced studio. So you got lots on the go. Yeah.

Hope Pedraza:

Thank you.

Kalee Boisvert:

Thank you so much for joining us. Hey, thanks

Kalee Boisvert:

for having me online. To get started. Do you want to share a

Kalee Boisvert:

little bit more like about your self, your background? What

Kalee Boisvert:

brought you to do this work that you do?

Hope Pedraza:

Yeah, sure. Um, so my background is in dance, like

Hope Pedraza:

I started dancing when I was three years old. And that kind

Hope Pedraza:

of got me into like, the movement space and kind of the

Hope Pedraza:

Mind Body realm. Because as I danced throughout high school

Hope Pedraza:

and college, I got into Pilates. I started taking it myself. And

Hope Pedraza:

then I started teaching and it's just like a side gig in college.

Hope Pedraza:

And so that really got me into just really diving deeper into

Hope Pedraza:

movement. And the human body led me to nutrition. So it just kind

Hope Pedraza:

of all snowballed from there. I started my studio about 10 years

Hope Pedraza:

ago, and then initially just you know, wanted to build a studio

Hope Pedraza:

that kind of just offered a little bit of everything,

Hope Pedraza:

because all of our classes are Pilates based, but we have we

Hope Pedraza:

have you know, we bar if trampling cardio, we've hit

Hope Pedraza:

classes, and then from there kind of I brought in the

Hope Pedraza:

nutrition piece, realizing that, you know, all the ladies coming

Hope Pedraza:

into my studio needed to you know, they were looking for that

Hope Pedraza:

like holistic, comprehensive, like approach, right? And me

Hope Pedraza:

listening to them talk to each other, you know, in the studio

Hope Pedraza:

talking about they're doing this diet and that diet, and I do it

Hope Pedraza:

and I'm like no like this is you're not doing it right. And

Hope Pedraza:

so I started just kind of with like a basic nutrition coaching

Hope Pedraza:

program, like what least let me offer like some level support.

Hope Pedraza:

And then from there, I just, you know, I did some further

Hope Pedraza:

education, I did a degree program and just kind of kept

Hope Pedraza:

learning. So I could really offer like, as a deep go as deep

Hope Pedraza:

as I could with their nutrition and really help them like put

Hope Pedraza:

the pieces together.

Kalee Boisvert:

I love that. Yeah, the whole holistic

Kalee Boisvert:

approach. You're right, because we do the exercise, we get into

Kalee Boisvert:

that stuff. But the nutrition side of things can get really

Kalee Boisvert:

confusing.

Hope Pedraza:

It can yeah, there's a lot of noise out

Hope Pedraza:

there. And there's a lot of, you know, conflicting information

Hope Pedraza:

and trendy stuff. And that was really what I was listening to

Hope Pedraza:

the ladies do and then, you know, then I'd hear them all

Hope Pedraza:

complain about let's get this ache and that ache and I don't

Hope Pedraza:

have any energy. I'm like, Well, yeah, you're like starving

Hope Pedraza:

yourselves. So it's, it's there's a lot of noise out

Hope Pedraza:

there. So it's, it's hard to navigate. I think it can be it

Hope Pedraza:

doesn't have to be but it can be hard to navigate the World of

Hope Pedraza:

Wellness and trying to figure out you know, what path you

Hope Pedraza:

should be taking? It can be, it can be tricky.

Kalee Boisvert:

Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. So we're here

Kalee Boisvert:

to chat about that. And let's talk about that. What does that

Kalee Boisvert:

so you're a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition

Kalee Boisvert:

practitioner. Now, what is that? What does that mean? Yes,

Hope Pedraza:

yes, yes. So basically, it we're taking a

Hope Pedraza:

functional approach to nutrition. And so I use

Hope Pedraza:

functional labs in screenings to help get a picture of like

Hope Pedraza:

what's going on underneath the surface, and then treat the body

Hope Pedraza:

as a whole so we're instead of treat treating things like

Hope Pedraza:

symptomatically like if you were to go into just a regular

Hope Pedraza:

doctor, right, they're going to treat you per symptom, but

Hope Pedraza:

treating the body as a whole so treating the whole body coaching

Hope Pedraza:

up function of the entire body and then coaching down any like

Hope Pedraza:

dysfunction, imbalances, metabolic chaos, it's going in

Hope Pedraza:

the body, so we're treating the body from a holistic perspective

Hope Pedraza:

to heal the whole body. Okay,

Kalee Boisvert:

good. I like that. Not just dealing with the

Kalee Boisvert:

things as they happen, but actually being proactive. Do we

Kalee Boisvert:

all need that? Yes. Um, so what'd you do? Like I was on

Kalee Boisvert:

your Instagram and you had information about, like human

Kalee Boisvert:

design types? So can we tell a little, like, talk a little bit

Kalee Boisvert:

about human design? And how that plays into health and nutrition?

Kalee Boisvert:

And what what that means?

Hope Pedraza:

Yeah, yeah. So I got into human design, I guess

Hope Pedraza:

about a year ago, just with for, like, my own self, and just

Hope Pedraza:

really fell in love with it. Like, I, I connected with the

Hope Pedraza:

girl on the Facebook or Instagram. And that's, you know,

Hope Pedraza:

I did a couple of readings with her. And I, I just fell in love

Hope Pedraza:

with it. I had, like, I told her, I felt like, after having

Hope Pedraza:

that first meeting, like I was meeting an old friend, which

Hope Pedraza:

sounds so cheesy, but it's like, you know, you spend, you spend a

Hope Pedraza:

lot of your life like either trying to fit a mold and try to

Hope Pedraza:

fit like the conditioning that society puts on you. And then

Hope Pedraza:

when you realize, like, through human design, especially with

Hope Pedraza:

something like human design, like how you were actually

Hope Pedraza:

designed to be, it's like, it's so freeing, it's like, no, wait,

Hope Pedraza:

I've been trying to, like, hide all these pieces of me, but

Hope Pedraza:

like, this is me, like, and so it's just like that validation,

Hope Pedraza:

like, Okay, this is me, this is how I was designed, this is how

Hope Pedraza:

I was designed to live, this is like, you know, what my soul is

Hope Pedraza:

here for. And so I wanted to bring in that element to my

Hope Pedraza:

coaching with my nutrition clients. Because, you know, the

Hope Pedraza:

nutrition part, of course, is key. But I also feel like

Hope Pedraza:

there's, there's a way to look at wellness through the, through

Hope Pedraza:

the lens of human design, in that, a lot of times, I think

Hope Pedraza:

that a lot of times chronic disease happens when we spend

Hope Pedraza:

too much energy, trying to be who we are not trying to be

Hope Pedraza:

something that we're not in whether it's you know, society,

Hope Pedraza:

our family lineage, whatever our experiences, just beliefs as a

Hope Pedraza:

collective, but we're trying to, like mold ourselves to how we

Hope Pedraza:

should be right using quotes there, how we should be and what

Hope Pedraza:

behavior should look like, or how you know how we should

Hope Pedraza:

exist. And so when these things are, when these things add up,

Hope Pedraza:

and we're trying to be all the things we should you know,

Hope Pedraza:

using, quote should be, we expend a lot of energy, we waste

Hope Pedraza:

a lot of energy, and we spend excessive amounts of energy

Hope Pedraza:

trying to like, hold that like persona, these things, we think

Hope Pedraza:

we should be in that. Doing that, I think that that's what

Hope Pedraza:

builds up this ease in the body, because we're holding up all

Hope Pedraza:

that that stored energy, with with nowhere for it to go. And I

Hope Pedraza:

think that's a lot of times what causes you know, the body to

Hope Pedraza:

burn out and for, you know, stress really tickets toll on

Hope Pedraza:

our body. And so I think that with human design, you're able

Hope Pedraza:

to really discover how you were designed to exist, like what

Hope Pedraza:

your unique blueprint is, so that you can really live more in

Hope Pedraza:

alignment with who you're meant to be. Instead of wasting energy

Hope Pedraza:

trying to be someone you're not.

Kalee Boisvert:

Yeah, I love that. I started listening to a

Kalee Boisvert:

book last night on my like, Hay House membership. And it's

Kalee Boisvert:

called like f the shoulds. So it's exactly I love what you're

Kalee Boisvert:

saying. I'm like, oh, yeah, love. That's a lot of sense. But

Kalee Boisvert:

yeah, that coming, like coming into alignment with you know,

Kalee Boisvert:

who am I? How am I designed? Because it is different for

Kalee Boisvert:

everyone. And when we tried to kind of fit into the wall,

Kalee Boisvert:

that's what this person does. So I'll try that. And then you're

Kalee Boisvert:

chasing, and you're and then there's the guilt and the shame

Kalee Boisvert:

and the way when it's not working. It's like, Well, why is

Kalee Boisvert:

it work for them? But it's not working for me? And then

Kalee Boisvert:

Exactly, yeah, um, so what are the types of human design? Like?

Kalee Boisvert:

Are there a few types that you can talk about? Or?

Hope Pedraza:

Yeah, yeah, there's a, there's four or five

Hope Pedraza:

main types that can kind of go through like just kind of the

Hope Pedraza:

gist of each of them. If for anybody listening, if you're not

Hope Pedraza:

familiar with human design, you can go online and get your chart

Hope Pedraza:

free. There's like, multiple sites out there. I really like

Hope Pedraza:

my human design.com. She does a really good job of giving good

Hope Pedraza:

explanations and stuff, you can go to genetic matrix.com. My

Hope Pedraza:

body graph, there's a lot of sites, but But yes, you can kind

Hope Pedraza:

of get your chart and then kind of follow along. And you know,

Hope Pedraza:

because it'll give you your type, it'll give your profile

Hope Pedraza:

give you a lot of the basics. So for the types, so first, there's

Hope Pedraza:

a generator. Generators are here to kind of have initiate things.

Hope Pedraza:

They're the initiators. And so it's about 38% of the

Hope Pedraza:

population. And they're like the life force of the planet.

Hope Pedraza:

They're like the builders, they're the the self starters.

Hope Pedraza:

And so they have a really strong aura that's really magnetic.

Hope Pedraza:

Like it's constantly pulling like to them. And they're really

Hope Pedraza:

here to do what lights them up. And that's where they find like,

Hope Pedraza:

their zone of genius is really doing things that light them up

Hope Pedraza:

and enable to like, do the creative endeavors that that

Hope Pedraza:

they find that they're passionate about. They they're,

Hope Pedraza:

they have a lot of energy. So they're meant to expend a lot of

Hope Pedraza:

energy. So I usually tell like my generators like work until

Hope Pedraza:

exhaustion like but by the end of the day, you should be

Hope Pedraza:

exhausted because a lot of times If you're not, and you're trying

Hope Pedraza:

to go to bed, you have all this pent up energy that you haven't,

Hope Pedraza:

like expended and it's just ruminating in your head, and

Hope Pedraza:

then your body's like, Oh, it doesn't know what to do with,

Hope Pedraza:

you know, the excess energy. So working till exhaustion is what

Hope Pedraza:

I always tell my generator types. And then in really

Hope Pedraza:

focusing on kind of what we were talking before, which I think

Hope Pedraza:

it's true for every type, but especially for generators, doing

Hope Pedraza:

the things in terms of like, diet, nutrition, doing the

Hope Pedraza:

things that let you up, and the things that excite you eating

Hope Pedraza:

what excites you doing exercise that excites you, rather than

Hope Pedraza:

what you think you should be doing? Because that's when

Hope Pedraza:

you're going to meet resistance when you're doing things that

Hope Pedraza:

you think you quote, should be doing. Right. So, so that's the

Hope Pedraza:

generators. There's also next is manifest errs. So manifester is

Hope Pedraza:

a very small percentage, only about 9% of the population. And

Hope Pedraza:

they are the initiators. And so they're they're here to inform

Hope Pedraza:

the people around them about their decisions before they take

Hope Pedraza:

action. Manifest errs, because it's such a small percentage,

Hope Pedraza:

they can sometimes make people feel a little off because

Hope Pedraza:

sometimes they like to keep to themselves. And they kind of

Hope Pedraza:

have to protect their energy a little bit, but, but they really

Hope Pedraza:

are like visionaries. They're very independent, but they're

Hope Pedraza:

visionaries and they activate, they're here to activate people

Hope Pedraza:

around them. So the manifest errs are the ones that activate

Hope Pedraza:

the generators to get things done. So, for the manifester,

Hope Pedraza:

is, it's really important to like work with your energy. And

Hope Pedraza:

knowing that there's like a working phase, there's kind of a

Hope Pedraza:

transition phase, and then there's a resting phase where

Hope Pedraza:

they can kind of like recharge their batteries. And so I like

Hope Pedraza:

to encourage my manifester is to kind of use food and exercise

Hope Pedraza:

like that to like be okay with kind of doing things in spurts.

Hope Pedraza:

Like when you're in that like really working phase, that like

Hope Pedraza:

action phase, eating things that keep your energy up, maybe it's

Hope Pedraza:

higher calorie foods, maybe it's higher fat foods, doing things

Hope Pedraza:

to like, expend a lot of energy, but then when you're in that

Hope Pedraza:

resting phase, kind of have to shift that taking time to take

Hope Pedraza:

naps, rest, like do what your body needs, really tuning into

Hope Pedraza:

your body and do what your body needs to really like protect

Hope Pedraza:

your energy. And then next, we have manifesting generators. And

Hope Pedraza:

that's what I manifest generator. And these are here to

Hope Pedraza:

do things their own way. So I, when I did my reading, I've

Hope Pedraza:

always been somebody who has my hand and like 28 different

Hope Pedraza:

things at once. Like, my, my Google Chrome tab is like full

Hope Pedraza:

like testament to that my husband is on me all the time,

Hope Pedraza:

you can't possibly know what's going on and all those tabs and

Hope Pedraza:

like, but I do know what's going on all these tabs, but it's the

Hope Pedraza:

generators are here to do a bunch of different things and do

Hope Pedraza:

things their own way they like set their own rules, they're

Hope Pedraza:

supposed to be they're supposed to be multitaskers. And, uh, you

Hope Pedraza:

know, psychologists say that you can't really multitask, but

Hope Pedraza:

manifesting generators, you're here to multitask, you're here

Hope Pedraza:

to really inspire creativity, and to bring about creativity

Hope Pedraza:

and other people. And to really trust their intuition, their and

Hope Pedraza:

their own internal compass to find, like where they're

Hope Pedraza:

supposed to go. Because they have so much energy similar to

Hope Pedraza:

to generators, they have, they have a lot of energy that they

Hope Pedraza:

need to get rid of. And so they require higher calorie diet, a

Hope Pedraza:

lot of times, they require eating more like variety of

Hope Pedraza:

foods. So eating the same thing all the time for manifesting

Hope Pedraza:

generators isn't usually productive for them.

Hope Pedraza:

And knowing that, that you can go through phases, because you

Hope Pedraza:

change your mind a lot. And for manifesting generators know that

Hope Pedraza:

it's okay to change your mind a lot, that's you're here to

Hope Pedraza:

change your mind and follow where your intuition is telling

Hope Pedraza:

you to go, which sometimes mean, you know, changing directions.

Hope Pedraza:

And so the same is true for like phases in like exercise,

Hope Pedraza:

nutrition, you know, you might have a running phase, and then

Hope Pedraza:

you have a CrossFit phase, you have a cycling phase, but like

Hope Pedraza:

doing things in phases, because you're doing things that light

Hope Pedraza:

you up and that excite you and then you move on to the next

Hope Pedraza:

thing when it no longer excites you anymore. Because Because

Hope Pedraza:

once you're doing things that don't excite you, you're wasting

Hope Pedraza:

energy. So kind of what I was talking about the beginning when

Hope Pedraza:

we spend so much time, like being who are not made to be you

Hope Pedraza:

waste a lot of energy, you're expending energy, that's really

Hope Pedraza:

not, it's not to be wasted, you'd have to protect your

Hope Pedraza:

energy. And so yeah, that's what manifesting generators are. And

Hope Pedraza:

there's projectors. So projectors are about 22% of

Hope Pedraza:

population, and they are here to wait for recognition for an

Hope Pedraza:

invitation. So they are like our world's most gifted guides and

Hope Pedraza:

they're here to guide us but they're also here to wait for

Hope Pedraza:

the invitation for for them to guide us. So they're able to

Hope Pedraza:

really it's like the people you know that can really see things

Hope Pedraza:

differently they relate to like they're able to really like see

Hope Pedraza:

deep into other people and to read other people's energy

Hope Pedraza:

really well which can work against them in some cases

Hope Pedraza:

because it leaves them open to like taking on others people's

Hope Pedraza:

emotions and other people's conditioning. And so they really

Hope Pedraza:

have to buy projectors always tell them that you really have

Hope Pedraza:

to work to protect your energy so projectors are good at

Hope Pedraza:

working in spurts whereas like generators and manifesting

Hope Pedraza:

generators are like they just work work work they can work

Hope Pedraza:

till exhaustion, and then they can be like, Okay, I'm done for

Hope Pedraza:

projectors working in spurts, like even just like just Three,

Hope Pedraza:

four hours at a time and then taking a break, giving their

Hope Pedraza:

their internal battery a chance to recharge and so that they're

Hope Pedraza:

not running themselves into the ground. Because a lot of times

Hope Pedraza:

they feel pressure and conditioning, especially if

Hope Pedraza:

they're around other like generators and manifesting

Hope Pedraza:

generators. For people who are like, like partners, whether

Hope Pedraza:

it's spouses or dislike partners, a lot of times that

Hope Pedraza:

can cause you butt heads, because you feel this pressure

Hope Pedraza:

to like, oh, I need to be working, I need to be doing

Hope Pedraza:

this, I need to be doing these things because their spouse or

Hope Pedraza:

significant other is a different type. But that's not how

Hope Pedraza:

projectors are made to be projectors are made to just work

Hope Pedraza:

in spurts. And then and then they rest. And so using food

Hope Pedraza:

like that, too, so big portions can help you kind of feel

Hope Pedraza:

weighed down as projectors, so eating things that make you feel

Hope Pedraza:

light and vibrant. A lot of times having like a very

Hope Pedraza:

specific way of eating is helpful for a projector. So

Hope Pedraza:

whether that's you know, paleo or vegan, or you know, whole 30,

Hope Pedraza:

whatever they're good at, like sticking to something specific

Hope Pedraza:

ways of eating, and that keeps their energy up, and then

Hope Pedraza:

knowing to listen to their body because they, if they end up

Hope Pedraza:

working themselves too much, they can start to feel a little

Hope Pedraza:

foggy, their energy's low. And so just knowing that, that

Hope Pedraza:

that's an indication, your body's telling you like, hey,

Hope Pedraza:

it's time to take a rest period. And then the last type is

Hope Pedraza:

reflector. reflectors are the most unique type less than 1% of

Hope Pedraza:

the population is reflector. And reflectors are very sensitive to

Hope Pedraza:

the energy around them, they have a really sensitive aura,

Hope Pedraza:

where they just kind of take in everybody's energy around them,

Hope Pedraza:

and that kind of reflected back to them. So because they're so

Hope Pedraza:

sensitive to other people's energy, again, they have to

Hope Pedraza:

protect their own energy. And so you know, I always encourage

Hope Pedraza:

them reflectors, like taking time to be by yourself, alone,

Hope Pedraza:

time is really important. Having like a space that's your own,

Hope Pedraza:

like I meditation is something I always encourage my clients to

Hope Pedraza:

do, just keeping that mindfulness piece and with like

Hope Pedraza:

the holistic nutrition equation, holistic wellness. So if you if

Hope Pedraza:

you, you know, set a little corner up in your room, like

Hope Pedraza:

having your space, so that's your space for meditation, or

Hope Pedraza:

for quiet time, or for journaling, or whatever it is,

Hope Pedraza:

but having like, a safe space environment is really important

Hope Pedraza:

to reflectors. And so having just a space that's your own can

Hope Pedraza:

be feel really like grounding and nourishing to the body. And

Hope Pedraza:

then and then for reflect for reflectors, like like playing

Hope Pedraza:

with what feels good to your body. And, and if a specific way

Hope Pedraza:

of exercising or a specific way of eating feels good. If it

Hope Pedraza:

gives you a sense of like consistency for your energy,

Hope Pedraza:

then do that. So it's, it's reflectors, like really have to

Hope Pedraza:

hone in on like trusting your intuition listening to their

Hope Pedraza:

intuition, so they can find what works best for them. Because

Hope Pedraza:

everybody's different, it's going to be different for

Hope Pedraza:

everybody. But yeah, just really tuning into what feels good for

Hope Pedraza:

them and what feels like nourishing and helps them keep

Hope Pedraza:

just their energy consistent.

Kalee Boisvert:

Yeah, I love it. It was a really good rundown.

Kalee Boisvert:

There's a wealth of knowledge over there. Love it. Um, so

Kalee Boisvert:

knowing that, like, it sounds like that kind of how you work

Kalee Boisvert:

with your clients is taking that into consideration. And then

Kalee Boisvert:

that being how it impacts nutrition, their lifestyle,

Kalee Boisvert:

their

Hope Pedraza:

exercise. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Because it really

Hope Pedraza:

affects everything like, you know, we kind of look at like

Hope Pedraza:

the pillars of wellness that I work with, with my clients which

Hope Pedraza:

is like you know, it's diet nutrition and sleep that stress

Hope Pedraza:

it's you know, supplements and kind of putting that together

Hope Pedraza:

with human design because everything is affected by I mean

Hope Pedraza:

your sleep and your nutrition and all of that is you know,

Hope Pedraza:

human design is is so it integrates into all of those

Hope Pedraza:

pieces. And so yeah, just kind of personalizing that to each

Hope Pedraza:

person and knowing like because these it's the same thing with

Hope Pedraza:

like, like with diets, right? Like I always say this like

Hope Pedraza:

there's no one size fits all diet and I feel like human

Hope Pedraza:

design is like is the exact reason why like we're literally

Hope Pedraza:

all designed on a percent different. And so taking that

Hope Pedraza:

piece and putting the human design with it is a really good

Hope Pedraza:

just blueprint for like, hey, let's let's make this as, like

Hope Pedraza:

flowy as possible, like so you're meeting with as little

Hope Pedraza:

resistance as possible. So we can implement these things and

Hope Pedraza:

we're working with your body and not against it.

Kalee Boisvert:

Yeah, absolutely. So they can do

Kalee Boisvert:

you're saying online tests can help them at least identify Yes,

Kalee Boisvert:

their type and then yeah,

Hope Pedraza:

so you'll get so if you do it online, it'll give

Hope Pedraza:

you like your type and your profile, depending on which site

Hope Pedraza:

you go to, which is why my favorite really is probably my

Hope Pedraza:

human design cuz she gives I forget her name. Zoey, I'll

Hope Pedraza:

think of it later. But she gives a really good description of

Hope Pedraza:

like the main things now you can of course pay to get like more

Hope Pedraza:

in depth stuff, but she gives us a really good job of giving at

Hope Pedraza:

least like the main things, she gives talks about like your

Hope Pedraza:

digestion, your your best, like your most crucial since you're

Hope Pedraza:

like what environment you thrive in the most. So yeah, she gives

Hope Pedraza:

you all like the important stuff.

Kalee Boisvert:

Okay, I love it and then come From that people

Kalee Boisvert:

can even go deeper and write and even working with you to really

Kalee Boisvert:

get a plan in place of how that works. Okay. And then, like we

Kalee Boisvert:

talked about, like, okay, taking cues from your body trusting

Kalee Boisvert:

your intuition. I mean, I feel like people always want to know

Kalee Boisvert:

more about that, like, how do we do that? How do we, you know,

Kalee Boisvert:

navigate that I feel like we're, we're on the go, we're busy.

Kalee Boisvert:

There's so many things coming at us all the time. That, you know,

Kalee Boisvert:

it's hard to decipher. Okay, what, what is my body telling

Kalee Boisvert:

me? And yeah, so what is your recommendation for that?

Hope Pedraza:

That's a good question. And, and I mean, no,

Hope Pedraza:

this is like, kind of a non answer. But it really is just

Hope Pedraza:

like practicing and listening, because, and that's one of the

Hope Pedraza:

things I work with my clients first, like when we first start

Hope Pedraza:

working together, I have them do this food journal. And it's,

Hope Pedraza:

which sounds really boring and lame, but they're not just

Hope Pedraza:

tracking, like what they eat. But they're asking, like, how

Hope Pedraza:

did you feel before you eat? How did you feel after you eat? What

Hope Pedraza:

kind of mood were you in? Like, I'm asking him all these like,

Hope Pedraza:

really specific questions, like one of my clients is like, I

Hope Pedraza:

feel like I'm in therapy, like answering all these questions

Hope Pedraza:

about my food. But really, it's really to build that sense of

Hope Pedraza:

self awareness. Because a lot of times, you know, we're like, go,

Hope Pedraza:

go, go go going throughout the day, a lot of us very rarely

Hope Pedraza:

stop and really check in with with our body and like what our

Hope Pedraza:

body is doing. And so with, like, with this food journal,

Hope Pedraza:

it's forcing you to think about, okay, what mood was I in? How

Hope Pedraza:

did I feel what was going on during the day, and so then we

Hope Pedraza:

can relate it back to oh, well, I felt really crappy later in

Hope Pedraza:

the day. But then earlier in the day, I was super stressed, and I

Hope Pedraza:

was eating on the go, and then my digestive system was all

Hope Pedraza:

messed up. So you're able to like connect dots that way. So I

Hope Pedraza:

really think it just takes practice. And it takes

Hope Pedraza:

intentionality mean, it takes intention for sure. And, and

Hope Pedraza:

just even, you know, a few times a day stopping everything you're

Hope Pedraza:

doing. And this is something I always encourage my clients to

Hope Pedraza:

do. Just stopping. And literally just checking in like asking

Hope Pedraza:

yourself, hey, like, how do I feel right now? So I have no

Hope Pedraza:

holding tension anywhere? Am I feeling tired? Do I need to get

Hope Pedraza:

up and take a walk real quick? Do I need it, you know, so just

Hope Pedraza:

intentionally taking a couple breaks throughout the day to

Hope Pedraza:

check in with yourself. And I think that's really, the easiest

Hope Pedraza:

way to really check in with your intuition is checking in with

Hope Pedraza:

yourself and letting because your intuition knows the answer,

Hope Pedraza:

a lot of times we're just blocking the answer, because

Hope Pedraza:

we're in our head about it, but it's getting you out of your

Hope Pedraza:

head and getting you into your bodies, we can really feel it's

Hope Pedraza:

it's more about feeling the thinking. And so when we're able

Hope Pedraza:

to kind of put that into practice, it kind of helps that

Hope Pedraza:

that that inner voice of intuition speak a little bit

Hope Pedraza:

louder. And then I think the other part of it is, is really

Hope Pedraza:

bringing in mindfulness into your life. And that's why I

Hope Pedraza:

mentioned the meditation earlier. But but it doesn't have

Hope Pedraza:

to be meditation, it can be journaling, it could be praying,

Hope Pedraza:

it could be walking in nature, it could just be sitting outside

Hope Pedraza:

on the porch. But but but quieting your mind, right?

Hope Pedraza:

Again, turning off the mic going into your body, this that

Hope Pedraza:

bringing that sense of mindfulness really helps quiet

Hope Pedraza:

down the noise of the world and really can help you tune into

Hope Pedraza:

your intuition to that inner voice.

Kalee Boisvert:

Okay, absolutely love that. Lots of good ideas

Kalee Boisvert:

there. What else was he gonna say? Um, so what does this mean?

Kalee Boisvert:

Like once, like, what do you see from your clients? I guess kind

Kalee Boisvert:

of like, as you start them, you make these plans and sort of end

Kalee Boisvert:

result, like, what kind of things can they expect as as

Kalee Boisvert:

changes and noticeable kind of, like positive results from doing

Kalee Boisvert:

some of this work?

Hope Pedraza:

Yeah. So for most of the ladies I work with,

Hope Pedraza:

they're dealing with a lot of different things on the health

Hope Pedraza:

front, like there's, you know, multiple symptoms involved, some

Hope Pedraza:

of them have autoimmune issues. Some of them it's like, you

Hope Pedraza:

know, stubborn weight, which really and truly is just a

Hope Pedraza:

symptom of other things going on. So they just really want to

Hope Pedraza:

figure out what's going on in their body. So it's really a

Hope Pedraza:

combination of things. Because, you know, we're putting the

Hope Pedraza:

nutrition piece together with the mindfulness piece in with

Hope Pedraza:

just kind of that wellness piece. And they really build on

Hope Pedraza:

each other. And it's, again, it's my first goal is always to

Hope Pedraza:

get them to build that sense of self awareness first and

Hope Pedraza:

foremost, because that's really when you make the biggest

Hope Pedraza:

changes and the biggest transformations with anything,

Hope Pedraza:

not even with boldness, I mean, it can be in relationships, or

Hope Pedraza:

you know, whatever. But building that sense of self awareness is

Hope Pedraza:

always crucial. First and foremost, like let's really

Hope Pedraza:

track what's going on. And when they're having reactions to

Hope Pedraza:

things when you know, we've made some changes in their diet or

Hope Pedraza:

whatever and they're still having reactions haven't go back

Hope Pedraza:

to go back to wellness journal left, start journaling to speak

Hope Pedraza:

check everything you're eating, track your cycle, like let's

Hope Pedraza:

tune into our body and figure out what's going on. So that's

Hope Pedraza:

the first piece and in all of them come out with this sense of

Hope Pedraza:

like, feeling like kind of what I was saying before that cheesy

Hope Pedraza:

live life. I felt like I was meeting an old friend when I

Hope Pedraza:

started learning human design, but uh, you're feeling like that

Hope Pedraza:

to building that sense of self awareness because you're like,

Hope Pedraza:

Okay, I actually know what's going on in my body. I can feel

Hope Pedraza:

when things are off so we can help you kind of redirect you

Hope Pedraza:

know, your life or your diet or whatever to kind of get back on

Hope Pedraza:

track. So, I'd say that's first and foremost. and using human

Hope Pedraza:

design is like, I mean, I just think it's just the other

Hope Pedraza:

transformational piece because not only are you able to build

Hope Pedraza:

that sense of self awareness with like your health and stuff,

Hope Pedraza:

but now you've got this human design piece that's really

Hope Pedraza:

helping you to live in alignment in every other aspect of your

Hope Pedraza:

life. And so it's just, it just does just go hand in hand. And

Hope Pedraza:

then and then to the other big, you know, transformational piece

Hope Pedraza:

is the whole goal. And that's what I do as an FDA NP is to

Hope Pedraza:

help them live symptom free. And so it's being able to, you know,

Hope Pedraza:

heal the gut, lower inflammation and balance hormones, whatever

Hope Pedraza:

the issue is we're dealing with, so that they feel like them

Hope Pedraza:

again, they feel free in their body, again, they feel like they

Hope Pedraza:

have control their body. And so now I feel I have to have

Hope Pedraza:

control my body again. And now I can live in alignment, like it

Hope Pedraza:

just, it just all goes together.

Kalee Boisvert:

Yeah, that's very, like empowering. What

Kalee Boisvert:

you're describing is that self awareness, knowing yourself, and

Kalee Boisvert:

then you're right, the more you know, and recognize yourself,

Kalee Boisvert:

the more you're willing to make a change, because otherwise,

Kalee Boisvert:

you're just gonna kind of keep going to those past behaviors or

Kalee Boisvert:

whatnot. It's easy, right? It's easy. Yep. To go to McDonald's

Kalee Boisvert:

and get the french fries.

Hope Pedraza:

It really is. And it really is just like, you

Hope Pedraza:

know, interrupting. It's just interrupting those patterns.

Hope Pedraza:

Yeah,

Kalee Boisvert:

yeah, absolutely. Um, I love that, um,

Kalee Boisvert:

anything else that you can give people like, I think so common

Kalee Boisvert:

with women and busy women? Is that low energy, I feel like gut

Kalee Boisvert:

health, things like that, and kind of what they impact in, in

Kalee Boisvert:

our in our lives. And I guess maybe since there's symptoms of

Kalee Boisvert:

things like thyroid issues, or digestive issues and things like

Kalee Boisvert:

that, is there anything like kind of a few comments you can

Kalee Boisvert:

make on some of those, like, very commonly experienced, I

Kalee Boisvert:

guess? Issues and symptoms that people go through?

Hope Pedraza:

Yeah, yeah. Those really are probably the most

Hope Pedraza:

frequent ones is like the energy part, the digestive part, the

Hope Pedraza:

hormonal, like all, of course, all of its tied together. Yeah.

Hope Pedraza:

I mean, it's hard to give like a quick answer for this because a

Hope Pedraza:

kid like, yeah, right away. But I'd say really, of course, first

Hope Pedraza:

and foremost is like really tuning into your body. Because a

Hope Pedraza:

lot of times, you can kind of redirect things yourself, if you

Hope Pedraza:

can really go into your body and kind of start tracking things

Hope Pedraza:

and seeing when things happen when I'm feeling this way, that

Hope Pedraza:

way that you're able to pinpoint, okay, I know that

Hope Pedraza:

those foods are causing me problems. So maybe I don't eat

Hope Pedraza:

those as much. Or it's okay, well, I didn't drink as much

Hope Pedraza:

water this day, and I felt really crappy, by the end of the

Hope Pedraza:

day, probably need to hydrate more. So a lot of times, you're

Hope Pedraza:

able to redirect yourself by just like keeping track of what

Hope Pedraza:

you're doing, like just tuning into your body. Tracking your

Hope Pedraza:

cycle is always good, even if you're on hormonal birth

Hope Pedraza:

control, tracking your cycle to know what your body's doing at

Hope Pedraza:

what time of the month because a lot of times that triggers a lot

Hope Pedraza:

of other things, I have a lot of clients who their autoimmune

Hope Pedraza:

flares always happen around their menstrual cycle, like

Hope Pedraza:

that's, they know, they're gonna have triggers right then. So

Hope Pedraza:

like, Let's track things, let's do all the things around when

Hope Pedraza:

your cycles is about to start again, so that we can, making

Hope Pedraza:

sure we're you know, we've cut out the sugar and the alcohol,

Hope Pedraza:

the inflammatory things that are going to make the symptoms

Hope Pedraza:

worse. And then it's just, you know, limiting the amount of

Hope Pedraza:

inflammation on the body. So that's, it's, you know, there's

Hope Pedraza:

so many stressors that happen on and in the body, there's

Hope Pedraza:

physical stressors, there's chemical stressors, there's

Hope Pedraza:

situational stress, right? And so it's just limiting that as

Hope Pedraza:

much as possible and knowing how to, like manage the effects of

Hope Pedraza:

it. So, you know, eating as anti inflammatory as possible,

Hope Pedraza:

getting rid of super inflammatory foods are limiting

Hope Pedraza:

them as much as possible, right. It's limiting toxic exposure to

Hope Pedraza:

chemicals, and like, you know, makeup and personal care

Hope Pedraza:

products and cleaning products, it's really just limiting that

Hope Pedraza:

toxic load on the body, because that's, it's the toxic load on

Hope Pedraza:

the body is really just what causes things to go haywire in

Hope Pedraza:

the body anyway, and they come from somebody, and it's

Hope Pedraza:

impossible to limit all of them like we live on planet Earth,

Hope Pedraza:

there's going to be toxins we're going to come our environment is

Hope Pedraza:

not the best unless you're going to live in some agrarian society

Hope Pedraza:

out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean somewhere or something.

Hope Pedraza:

But we're, you know, we're gonna come into contact with toxins,

Hope Pedraza:

but it's just limiting it as much as possible. And knowing

Hope Pedraza:

how to like counteract that with anti inflammatory things in ways

Hope Pedraza:

to like really help the body detoxify.

Kalee Boisvert:

Okay, what are some anti inflammatory things

Kalee Boisvert:

for people but good? I aren't familiar.

Hope Pedraza:

Yes, yes. So it's really it's plants like plant

Hope Pedraza:

based foods, not saying you have to go plant based but plant

Hope Pedraza:

based foods, it's fruits and veggies and nuts and seeds, and

Hope Pedraza:

legumes. All of those foods are high in antioxidants, vitamins,

Hope Pedraza:

and minerals, all the things that your immune system needs to

Hope Pedraza:

really thrive and function optimally. It's all the things

Hope Pedraza:

that your gut means to thrive and function optimally. It helps

Hope Pedraza:

build a healthy gut, it helps build a healthy gut microbiome,

Hope Pedraza:

which is all the bacteria in your gut. So the power of plants

Hope Pedraza:

really can't be overstated. And that's again not saying you have

Hope Pedraza:

to eat plant based there's There's always room for meat, if

Hope Pedraza:

that's what you want to eat, but really putting a focus on it's

Hope Pedraza:

what I have my clients, I call it a plant focused diet with my

Hope Pedraza:

clients since just getting a focus on plants, and just

Hope Pedraza:

getting the power of the fiber and the vitamins and the

Hope Pedraza:

minerals and antioxidants and all the things that plants have

Hope Pedraza:

to offer.

Kalee Boisvert:

So make sure you get those plants, right, love

Kalee Boisvert:

it, okay, um, anything else before we wrap up, like, this is

Kalee Boisvert:

amazing. And like I said, you're just, there's so much here, so

Kalee Boisvert:

much good information, that, again, helps just anyone in day

Kalee Boisvert:

to day life like I think we can get so caught up in our lives or

Kalee Boisvert:

you know, we have our kids or work or just everything on a lot

Kalee Boisvert:

on our plate. So this is things that we do need to stop and pay

Kalee Boisvert:

attention to and have that awareness and be taking cues

Kalee Boisvert:

from our body. So I love this because our body is what's, you

Kalee Boisvert:

know, what are the the whole vehicle that we're able to

Kalee Boisvert:

function through? So we need to keep on you've got Yeah, it is.

Kalee Boisvert:

Anything else before we like wrap up that you'd like to leave

Kalee Boisvert:

listeners with or anything like that?

Hope Pedraza:

Um, yeah, I think my my parting wisdom is just to

Hope Pedraza:

spend more time tuning into yourself and spending more time

Hope Pedraza:

quieting your mind and really tuning in tune to your

Hope Pedraza:

intuition. I think that's really one of the most powerful things

Hope Pedraza:

you can do is to learn how to listen to your intuition. So

Hope Pedraza:

yeah, finding more time to do that can really be like the most

Hope Pedraza:

important thing you can do. Yeah,

Kalee Boisvert:

it is. And like you said, with that example, I

Kalee Boisvert:

just the other day, I was like, I was feeling off this day. And

Kalee Boisvert:

I noticed I didn't drink as much water. And so it was like the

Kalee Boisvert:

answer just came to

Hope Pedraza:

me myself. Exactly, exactly. Your body will

Hope Pedraza:

tell you. Yeah, it was like,

Kalee Boisvert:

okay, so I have to drink more water so that we

Kalee Boisvert:

do have that inner guide, and we just have to listen to it. There

Kalee Boisvert:

though. It's all it's there for us. How can people find you and

Kalee Boisvert:

connect with you?

Hope Pedraza:

Yes, yeah, so you can find me I'm probably most

Hope Pedraza:

active on Instagram at the hope Pedraza and then I have a free

Hope Pedraza:

Hope Pedraza:
