When to Break the Rules | UA43

When to Break the Rules | UA43

Another riff today on one of my favorite themes – rule breaking. This episode is a practical exploration of how to know it’s time to break one of your rules. Even if a rule has served you in the past, it may not be serving you now. Breaking the rule might be the best thing you could possibly do to enhance your life and career.

Many rules don’t serve you. The worst ones are the “rules” you make up and don’t even realize you’ve made up. You start to believe the rule is just a fact. You cite the rule as the reason you “can’t” do something every cell in your body wants you to do.

A habit of rule breaking will allow you to create more value and have a happier life than pretty much any other practice I can think of.

My secret desire is to create an army of Savvy Soul rule breakers! I have no doubt that a huge quantity of amazingness will flow into the world when we all ramp up our rule breaking behaviour.

I’D LOVE TO GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER

ABOUT ME:

I’m a former international tax lawyer and senior partner with Ernst & Young. I left the law in 2014 to learn how to paint. After a couple years painting and selling my work, I became passionate about helping other people who feel stuck in their careers and lives and want to feel more personally fulfilled, invigorated and soul connected. I now spend my time painting, coaching, and creating live events at the George Russell Academy of Creative Expansion in beautiful Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada.
