Ian Hawkins 1:01

I just record this I had to record this whole was fresh in my head. So apologies for the breathing, I'm running. And I'm like, Okay, that's good idea, I need to talk about that. And why wait till I get home. I know, I'll forget. And actually it plays in nicely to exactly what I want to talk about. So for those of us who have grown up being highly competitive, and that still shows up in different areas of our life. When we exercise, it comes in as well. Now I've done running, to try and improve, try and get personal bests. And I've improved by doing that run, because because it's possible with anything. But there are other times when we the exercise is that we just need to exercise because it what's going to what it's going to give us because the value that's going to bring to us because of the well being it's gonna provide to us. You know, I gotta be honest, I love running. But what I do love is I love what it gives me. I love how it clears my mind. I love how it actually gives me inspiration, it gives me ideas. It allows me to be in nature. So I'm in the bushy now. Pretty sure that's a Black Cockatoo in the background, which is really cool, because you don't see and hear a heap of them around the place. But there'll be a message on that, and then very for another podcast, but yeah, so with your exercise, are you not doing it because of lack of motivation, or you're not doing it or not doing at the level you want to. Because you don't like the level you're at. And you compare it comparing where you've been in the past. Or you're worried about what other people might think about where you're at, instead of just going, I want to get better, I need to get better, I'm going to get better. And it's going to have a big impact on the rest of my life. So when you exercise, why are you doing it? That should be the focus. Because if that's what it's giving you, your why. And that's what you go into. So for me, it was like, even as I've got older and now still trying to, in my head, get to certain levels that I used to get to five, six years ago, I still have to remind myself, just run, just run because you enjoy just run, because it would have gives you like, just remember why you're doing it. And when I do, I slow down enough and unconscious enough to have the awareness that I had today and have different ideas and different things come to me. And I'll share that another video because I ran across some critters on the track. And yeah, it's going to be a good story about the symbolism of what life shows you. And if it's repeating the same things. Same songs, in this case, the same type of animal. And I literally let out a bit of a girly screen before something ran across my track under my feet. That's why I'm laughing. Yeah, so you'll see, it was like that. Yeah, the symbolism of life. But that's another podcast, but just focusing on why you're doing your exercise. What does it actually give you put that down on paper or put it in the notes of your phone? To remind you whenever you have doubts whenever you don't feel like it. Remember why, what it's going to give you and how to do it in a way where you're honoring you and you're honoring why you're doing it. Not trying to be stuck in this competitive position. That's actually to your detriment. There are times for competition. That's why you are good at so many different things. It's why you push the boundaries to why you're trying to get better in so many different areas. But the contradiction, which shows off for so many of the things that we're good at is that it can also be one of our biggest traps. So if it's a trap for you at the moment, come back to why why are you exercising? What's most important and remembering that The most important thing to be honoring is yourself, not a competitive element that wants to be better because of some old pattern of behavior from quite a young age. I'll leave it there. Make sure if you're liking this, the either subscribing if this is on the podcast, or you're liking my pages or if, or both and, and share it with a friend, because that's going to help me to help more people. It's going to allow me to be able to share more of these messages and help us make the difference that we all get so much fulfillment out of making an awesome day. Speak to you soon.
