One Of Your Biggest Problems Is Undiagnosed Boredom

One of the things I see so often for people still stuff still suffering from unresolved or even unknown grief is this undiagnosed boredom. It's that, that metaphor, again, it's the dog sitting on the nail. There's not enough pain to get off, but just enough pain to complain. And that's where boredom takes us. We just get enough to sort of keep us going. Whether it's work or bit of survival mode. Just different parts of life that just do enough to keep us where we are. It's crazy, right? So if you're at that point, now where you know you've got some of that boredom happening, might show up for you in procrastination, distraction, avoidance, you know, things like wasting time on your phone, scrolling, endlessly. watching and reading stuff that really in the big scheme of things doesn't add much value to your life at all. You might do other distracting tasks, like call someone and help them out. Give you a bit of a buzz but not really give you what you need. Maybe you are over generous with your time. You spend a lot of time helping people out being a volunteer. And it's a trap. You end up in this place where you're just helping so many different people. And then you realise that you just haven't got the time for what's most important. And then when you do have time you're not even sure what to do with it see end up bored. Be don't see it as boredom. He kind of just stuck in a bit of numbness. What if he could change that? What if he could fill that space with something meaningful? With something fulfilling? That energises you, brings you regular joy, not just those odd moments, in the odd moments like maybe your football team winning or some time with friends, that gives you a bit of a lift, but it's not sustainable. Now don't get me wrong, those things are all good parts of life. But it's having something beyond that. Something to fill that boredom with something that's worthwhile. That makes life exciting again, that makes life worthwhile. So you're not thinking is this all there is? Is this all life is. But instead, you actually turbocharged to go and take more action and do more of what you want. I'm regularly having conversations with clients, and helping them to re connect with something that they loved passionately years before, but maybe they've just drifted away from I might even forgotten that they had an interest in it. They might not even they might be aware of it. But they're not even sure how to transition into it, where to get started, how to free up the time how to get the energy and then helping them to see that if we tweak a few things, get more of that ability to emotionally regulate so we can get out of that numbness place. Fill the full spectrum of emotions in a healthy way, not in a way that leaves you feeling more miserable than ever boredom is a thing of the past

time may become a challenge because you find that there's so many things you want to do that are actually beneficial. But near fill up your your time with more of those sorts of things. And then you have good places and good time to relax and recharge. There's a space for the ball. There's a time for the boredom and there's certainly no motivation for to have a think at the moment do you need to admit to yourself, the numbness, the boredom and start making the changes? start being more curious asking better questions. Getting that ability to emotionally regulate so you can bring more of that fulfilment back into your day more of that back into your life, the satisfaction that's so uplifting and really charges you with so much energy. Get curious. Journal as you go, write it down and let your subconscious brain sort out the rest. Speak to you tomorrow.
