Step Into Your Transformation (Part 1)

Step Into Your Transformation (Part 1)

In the first of a two-part episode, Dr. Sheila dives into the T in SHIFT; Transformation. Transformation is all about showing gratitude to what came before but recognizing that now it is time to move on. It’s time to start breaking the patterns and stepping into your new story.

The Takeaways:

  • Sometimes when you have a positive story, you dismiss it as it doesn't matter. The truth is it does matter, and it is part of you.
  • The transformation is really not just about what you think physically and mentally you can do, but also emotionally; how you can step up and how you can move forward.
  • Be willing to risk to your SHIFT and don’t allow yourself to be pulled back to your old paradigm of doing things.

Dr. Sheila Jaggard:

Hi there, you're listening to the Shift to Your Bliss podcast series. If you're in your 30s and beyond, with some life experience, and you're looking indeed searching for more in your life, your work and your career, then you're in the right place. In this podcast series, we will show you how to shift to your bliss. My name is Dr. Sheila Jaggard. I'm a world traveler from Machu Picchu, to the pyramids of Egypt. I've studied alongside Thomas Leonard, Bob Proctor, Dean, Grazi, OC, and Deepak Chopra. And after five decades, I created my very own formula to help you shift to your bliss. Welcome to the podcast series shift to your bliss. Are you ready? Let's dive in.

Dr. Sheila Jaggard:

Hello, again, it's Dr. Sheila here. And we're coming to the end of our shift to your bliss program, podcast programs. And, you know, just just to review, and I think it's important to review because you have been on this journey now for a number of sessions. And it's important to go back and realize where you started, and where you're now in the process. So we started out, first of all, by talking about what your story was. And your story is that thing that you've carried around for years and years, sometimes it's hidden from you, sometimes it has created patterns for you in your life, and in your work and in your relationships. And you know, the thing that's most interesting about patterns is that we get so used to them, that we don't realize that they can be debilitating, that they can be problematic, or that they can be helpful to us. And sometimes our story has served us in a way that we needed to be served at the time. Other times, the story has been something that has come along. And it's happened to us. We didn't know how to react to it. So we put it away, and we put it in that file drawer in our brain and our brain that's always trying to help us decided how to help you deal with this. And you know, the funny thing about this is, your brain has good intention. But sometimes, because of our own thinking our own patterns, our own belief systems, our own values, our brain steps in, and it does something that is not necessarily the way in which it would be most helpful to us. So then we talked about heal, and we talked about the journey and, and how you can be grateful to the story for what it has given you and what it has brought to you. It's also a time when you really want to figure out what is your awareness of the story. It's not just okay, that's the story that happened, what's your awareness of it. And as you recall, I talked about the fact that I didn't even realize I had the story, until I actually had someone who believed in me, and was essentially pushing me to be more of the person that I could be, and to be in education and learning in training. And so part of this is about the story, as you map it out, has an impact on you. And that story that has an impact on you may be something that you need to keep, only change a little bit of it so that it's not negative in your life. Or maybe it's something that's very positive, and you need to actually go back and use it. Because sometimes when we have a positive story, we just dismiss it as Oh, well, that doesn't matter. The truth is it does matter. And it is part of you. One thing you might want to remember about a story, if the story is is difficult for you, if the story has caused you some some difficulties, you might want to just try to get to the place where you identify it, you can encapsulate it and then you can let it go. And there's various techniques for letting it go, you know, a lot of the time writing it down, and then burning the paper.

Dr. Sheila Jaggard:

Other times it is about sharing the story in writing. And then going back later and reading it and saying is that true now? Is that true about who I am? And then we talked about imagine, and we are imagining the new story we are imagining, actually visualizing what was going to change because we were changing the story. And that goes to the point where I was talking about how you know I'm teaching it at To the universities or college and, and have my own business, which is consulting and essentially training and instructing and facilitating. So, you know, what is it that you want to do in terms of where that business goes, and now my business is shifting again. Because it's time. And I think that that's another thing that's important about this process. There are going to be times when your story surfaces yet again, and you need to take a look at it and say, why now? Well, maybe because you need to make a bigger shift, take on a bigger challenge. And for me, that challenge is all about technology. I've put it off, probably close to 10 years. And now I'm ready to do this. Now I'm understanding that it isn't this mountain that I have to climb, it's very simply understanding the techniques around it, and having someone who can help me through that. So part of this is also finding out that finding that person that can be your mentor, your belief, person, the person that believes in everything that you do. And then we talked about focus. And we talked about how important it is to focus on kind of where the story started, where you want to end up and what's the gap in the middle? What are those steps you need to take in order to get to that place in your story that you really want to get to, so that you can move on to what we're going to talk about now. Excuse me, what we're going to talk about now, which is transformation. And when we talk about transformation, it really is appreciating that which was before thanking it. Again, being in gratitude. Gratitude always works. You know, thank you so much. I am grateful for what you have done to serve me over the years. And now it's time for me to move on. Thank you for the opportunity to move on. And as you're moving on, and you're going to getting into the new story, the new you the new way of looking at things, and you're starting to break patterns. The transformation part of this whole journey is about stepping in. And, and literally, I would encourage you, when you're doing this in your homework, actually stand up and step in to the new story. Step into what you expect the new story to be, and step into the way in which you want it to be going forward. You know, the transformation that you're doing is really not just about what you think physically you can do, and mentally, what you can do. But it's also about emotionally, how you can step up and how you can move forward. And I will tell you that a lot of our stories have a great emotional attachment to us. They've served us they've taken care of us. And it's it's frightening in some ways to try and let go of that. And I'm here to say that when you step in to the new story, when you step in to what you need to do, yes, it is a little bit disconcerting. But also, there's an opportunity here for you to see something entirely new.

Dr. Sheila Jaggard:

And you heard that from Jonathan. You know, Jonathan said, you know, my mom had died, I lost my job. And now I had this injury. And I wasn't able to do anything for six months. And he had a choice. And the story that he had told himself in the past about, well, this is the only thing I need to I know. And this is the only thing that I can do. And he had the he had to face that straight on. And as he was doing that, as he was imaging what it was he really wanted to do. It wasn't completely clear yet. And then when he started to focus, and he started to read, and he started to research, and he started to do all the things he needed to do. He realized that there was a business underneath all of this. And of course, he had someone that came along and was a mentor was able to help him to do the things that he needed to do to get his business functional. And the transformation came from. Now I understand what I'm going to do. Now I understand those visualizations of I had of my business are entirely different. And to talk to Jonathan today, he tell you, he is continually looking at ways that he can transform his business away from that story of I don't have a job my mom died and I had that horrible accident. The story transformation is all about how much You're willing to risk to shift. Remember the T and shift is the final letter, it's the final thing you're going to look at. It is the piece of this shift process that is starting to wrap it up as a bow, and get the present out to you. We have one more session where we're going to talk about transformation, bringing it all together. And I want to thank you all for continuing this journey, you know, there's going to be times when you're on this journey, where you're going to stand back and go, I don't think I can do it today. I encourage you on those days, to be aware of what it is that's telling you, you can't do this today. Because sometimes, sometimes our demons come out. And when you get to transformation, that's where you're gonna see them. It's fun to visualize, and it's fun to focus. And it's fun to you know, even heal. But the truth is, transformation is where the rubber hits the road. This is the place that you're going to have to say Enough of that. Now this. And by the way, as I've said before, many times that is going to happen, and something will come up to say no, no, you need to go back, you need to go back no to this, that's just trying to pull you back into an old paradigm that honestly, you don't need to have anymore. So the homework this week, is really about being able to take a look at what you came up with under the s h i. F sections and move to the T which means what is it that's going to that's going to transform what is it that you're going to do to transform, remember, it can be physical, it can be mental, it can be emotional. And by the way, if you try to do all three at once, it's a bit of overwhelm. So pick one of them, and decide which one you're going to work on. Thanks so much for tuning in to the session. And I encourage you to keep going. We have one more session after this, to wrap it all up. And I am going to tell you about some of the really exciting things that we have planned going forward. And as I've said, you know, life is a journey, and we're on it. And it doesn't mean that the journey doesn't have forks in the road, it doesn't mean that the journey doesn't have an opportunity for you to shift and change. That's what this is about. It's about your shift. So until next time shifters, get out there and think about your transformation. Think about transforming the story. And I'll be right back here next week. Looking forward to another session with you. Thanks again for participating. Thanks for being involved in this podcast. Really appreciate it. This is Dr. Sheila saying so long. See again.
