Candy Motzek:

Welcome to she coaches coaches. I'm your host,

Candy Motzek:

Kandi motsek. And I'm going to help you find the clarity,

Candy Motzek:

confidence and courage to become the coach that you are meant to

Candy Motzek:

be. If you're a new coach, or if you've always wanted to be a

Candy Motzek:

life coach, then this is the place for you. We're going to

Candy Motzek:

talk all about mindset and strategies and how to, because

Candy Motzek:

step by step only works when you have the clarity, courage and

Candy Motzek:

confidence to take action. Let's get started. friends, and

Candy Motzek:

welcome to this episode. I am so glad you're here. Okay, so

Candy Motzek:

today, I'm bringing you a special episode. I've been

Candy Motzek:

talking to my clients and I talked to the people that

Candy Motzek:

respond to my emails. You know, I'm hearing from a lot of

Candy Motzek:

coaches, a lot of new coaches specifically. And there's two

Candy Motzek:

questions that I ask people to particularly, and I'm really

Candy Motzek:

curious about the first question, what do you want? I

Candy Motzek:

asked them? And when I asked them that, they say, I want

Candy Motzek:

clients, I want to coach, I want coaching clients. And the second

Candy Motzek:

one I asked, So what's getting in your way?

Candy Motzek:

What's making it hard? What are the hurdles you're dealing with?

Candy Motzek:

You respond with? I don't know where to start? So in this

Candy Motzek:

episode, I'm going to answer both questions to help you. And

Candy Motzek:

that is why I'm calling it a special episode. By the end,

Candy Motzek:

you're going to know exactly where to start, and how to start

Candy Motzek:

in a way that helps you get clients. Yeah, I know, it's

Candy Motzek:

pretty ambitious. But I know this is gonna work. I have a

Candy Motzek:

concept that I share with my new coaches, and I'm sharing it with

Candy Motzek:

you today. I call it the five by five. And it looks like this 5x

Candy Motzek:

Five, I recommend that all new coaches start by coaching five

Candy Motzek:

clients, for five hours each, each of those clients gets five

Candy Motzek:

full hours of coaching, that's the five by five, an even

Candy Motzek:

stranger, I suggest that you do it for free. Now, if you've been

Candy Motzek:

coaching for a while, and you're still not exactly sure how you

Candy Motzek:

sign clients, or how you create clients or where they come from,

Candy Motzek:

if you're just still not quite comfortable knowing what to ask

Candy Motzek:

during a coaching session, or even when to stay quiet, or

Candy Motzek:

you're uneasy with what to do on your coaching calls, this five

Candy Motzek:

by five approach will help you to and yes, even if you've been

Candy Motzek:

coaching for a while, I highly recommend you do it for free. My

Candy Motzek:

approach is that by taking small, frequent steps, the kind

Candy Motzek:

of steps that are a little bit of a stretch outside of your

Candy Motzek:

comfort zone, you're going to find that it accumulates your

Candy Motzek:

results accumulate so much faster. So if you take one small

Candy Motzek:

step, that's just a little bit of a stretch, and then another

Candy Motzek:

and another and another. It's not as painful, and you make so

Candy Motzek:

much more progress so much more quickly. And you're going to

Candy Motzek:

find that it is that much easier to go from brand new to fully

Candy Motzek:

booked fast. So here's what I know. A new coach often doesn't

Candy Motzek:

necessarily feel like a coach yet. You might call yourself a

Candy Motzek:

baby coach or a newbie coach. But what it comes down to is you

Candy Motzek:

don't quite feel like you're a coach yet. Don't necessarily

Candy Motzek:

believe that you can coach powerfully. And you don't

Candy Motzek:

necessarily believe that you can help someone with your coaching.

Candy Motzek:

And if you've had any of these self doubts, then you're

Candy Motzek:

definitely going to have problems trying to sign clients

Candy Motzek:

for a paid coaching package. If you don't believe it. You don't

Candy Motzek:

believe that you can help them. You don't 100% Believe in

Candy Motzek:

yourself as a coach, then why would they? If you don't believe

Candy Motzek:

in yourself or your skill as a coach, then potential clients

Candy Motzek:

are going to feel that vibe rolling off of you. And they

Candy Motzek:

won't believe you either. It might not be a big overt Oh, I

Candy Motzek:

don't believe her or him. But it's going to be something's not

Candy Motzek:

quite right and I don't even know what it is. But they just

Candy Motzek:

won't believe you quite yet. Doesn't matter what words you

Candy Motzek:

use. Doesn't matter if someone hands you fancy scripts to use

Candy Motzek:

or just the perfect wording. What matters is how you feel. So

Candy Motzek:

here are some of the places that you gain by starting slow and

Candy Motzek:

doing my free five by five method. You learn how to invite

Candy Motzek:

people to be your client. You learn how to shedule and deal

Candy Motzek:

with people who show up late. You learn how to deal with last

Candy Motzek:

minute cancellations. You learn how to track your progress, you

Candy Motzek:

learn how to track their progress, and you can show them

Candy Motzek:

their growth. You learn how to coach, you learn how to handle

Candy Motzek:

challenging topics. And if you saw me, you'd see I'm kind of

Candy Motzek:

doing these air quotes around challenging topics. One of them

Candy Motzek:

might be something like your client shows up to a call, and

Candy Motzek:

they say, Oh, I got nothing to coach on. And now you know,

Candy Motzek:

you've got a whole hour to spend time with them. And to coach

Candy Motzek:

them, what do you do, right, you're going to learn how to

Candy Motzek:

handle that, because you're going to have dealt with it. You

Candy Motzek:

have coached for 25 full hours, five people, five hours each 25

Candy Motzek:

hours. And that is a major achievement, you will begin to

Candy Motzek:

believe that you can coach, you will start to see how your

Candy Motzek:

clients lives are changing for the batter, and how they're

Candy Motzek:

growing. It's a huge list, right? So if you're a coach that

Candy Motzek:

doesn't know what to do to begin, or you don't exactly know

Candy Motzek:

what to do next, you've got one job and one job only. And that

Candy Motzek:

job is to invite people to be one of your five by five

Candy Motzek:

clients. Now, here's a little extra bonus for you. I can't

Candy Motzek:

remember who shared this, or I would certainly give them credit

Candy Motzek:

for the wonderful idea. But a coach that I heard said, think

Candy Motzek:

of your coaching practice, like a fancy dinner party, or even a

Candy Motzek:

fancy high end brunch, you've only got a limited number of

Candy Motzek:

seats at that dining room table, you spent a ton of time

Candy Motzek:

decorating and planning the menu, you want it to be just

Candy Motzek:

right. So when you invite people to be your guest, and you know,

Candy Motzek:

you've only got five chairs at your dining room table, you've

Candy Motzek:

got to be 100% upfront and say, Listen, I am doing this amazing

Candy Motzek:

brunch, if you want in, if you want to be part of it, I would

Candy Motzek:

love to have you. But if you're not 100%, sure, we're going to

Candy Motzek:

say no, and I'll invite somebody else. Because if they're not

Candy Motzek:

sure, you're going to let their seat go to somebody else. It's

Candy Motzek:

true, right? When you play along with this approach this five by

Candy Motzek:

five approach, you have five seats at your dining room table

Candy Motzek:

for your special event. There's only a limited space for the

Candy Motzek:

amazing and valuable offer. And now, when you hold that thought,

Candy Motzek:

that mindset that belief, it's going to make it so much easier

Candy Motzek:

and more enjoyable for you to invite your best potential

Candy Motzek:

clients to your five by five party, they should feel honored

Candy Motzek:

that you've invited them.

Candy Motzek:

Now if your game, you're only allowed in quotation marks five,

Candy Motzek:

that means you're going to need to be prepared to tell the sixth

Candy Motzek:

person, your five spots are filled. Because you want to be

Candy Motzek:

in integrity, you're offering five places, when those five

Candy Motzek:

seats are filled, it's over, it's done, you're on to the next

Candy Motzek:

step. And if they would really like to work with you, you could

Candy Motzek:

offer them your paid coaching package, or even give them a

Candy Motzek:

gift and offer them a reduced rate package for that five hours

Candy Motzek:

to. So when you know that that five by five is a limited

Candy Motzek:

edition and you mean it. Stick to your word, you are learning

Candy Motzek:

how to create demand for your paying coaching. And of course,

Candy Motzek:

once your five special people have completed their sessions,

Candy Motzek:

you can certainly offer them a paid option that helps them

Candy Motzek:

continue to grow. Those special five are also a great source of

Candy Motzek:

referrals for you. They've experienced your coaching. And

Candy Motzek:

of course, they want to recommend you to their friends

Candy Motzek:

and family. Once people have been coached, they love it and

Candy Motzek:

they want more. Plus, they're always going to be happy to

Candy Motzek:

share you with others. Alright, there you go. I've answered both

Candy Motzek:

questions. It didn't take very long did it. And I've given you

Candy Motzek:

the fastest and easiest path to become a paid coach. Begin by

Candy Motzek:

offering your five by five to some fortunate people. I can't

Candy Motzek:

think of anybody who wouldn't find this generous offer a hell

Candy Motzek:

yes. So let's circle back to those two common questions that

Candy Motzek:

I promised I would answer the first question. When I asked a

Candy Motzek:

new coach, what do you want? And you tell me you Want clients?

Candy Motzek:

The five by five is the fastest path to get coaching clients to

Candy Motzek:

get coaching and to become a coach, you start on this today,

Candy Motzek:

you could be working with those five clients by this time next

Candy Motzek:

week. Think of how powerful that is. Think about how you're

Candy Motzek:

moving yourself so much closer to your dream. The second, when

Candy Motzek:

I asked, So what's getting in your way? What's the hard thing,

Candy Motzek:

and you tell me, I just don't even know where to begin. Now,

Candy Motzek:

you know, offer your five by five. That's exactly where to

Candy Motzek:

start. If you haven't signed your five people, keep inviting

Candy Motzek:

people until you do. And then treat those clients like gold.

Candy Motzek:

Coach them to the best of your ability. Invite them to continue

Candy Motzek:

with you as paying clients. And when it's appropriate. Ask them

Candy Motzek:

if they would recommend you to others. Do you see how simple

Candy Motzek:

this could be? Pretty crew pretty great a. Alright, so now

Candy Motzek:

I want to hear from you. What did you learn from this episode?
