Three pillars for living the life you desire

Three pillars for living the life you desire

The secrets to fostering success without stress

These three pillars will help to make achieving your dreams effortless and easy.

Some may ring in the new year feeling excited. Other are saying good riddance. But as Abe Lincoln said; "the best way to predict your future is to create it."

So let's create. How's your vision? What does the future look like, for you today?

Some have created and designed their twenty twenty vision. Others have thought about it but somehow are either uninspired or lost motivation.

So let's talk about what it takes to create a clear vision that is both doable and likely to succeed.

Smart! Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and relevant and timely. These fundamentals of goal setting allow us to create and track our goal. And then we must know the reason why achieving this goal is important to our life.

Knowing the why we want something is more important than knowing what we want. So there are some things to ponder. But maybe you need a little more inspiration!

Inspiration is defined as mental stimulation that makes us want to create something.

But where do we find inspiration when we feel none? We look for timeless agents of inspiration. Architecture, oceans, sunsets, trees, amazing animals or fragile flowers. The things that naturally inspire us are often times timeless.

Human traits can also inspire. An honest compliment, someone who shows they care, exhibits patience or is respectful. Those who have nurtured or remembered us kindly inspire.

Ever felt truly listened to? A good listening can be an inspiration to us. those who offer encouragement or make us feel appreciated; show love, gratitude or optimism. Or it can be an inspiring as a beautiful smile or hearing a deep belly laugh.

Whatever inspired you, it has the ability to awaken or trigger a desire to do something more. Enthusiasm and excitement raises our physiological activity while reducing our heart rate.

And this stimulation becomes an important aspect of motivation. In fact science has found that mental simulation greatly improves many cognitive functions: Attention span, response and processing speed, flexibility and control, memory and pattern recognition as well as  our ability to learn language and multi-task.

Let's ponder motivation. Derived from the word motive. Motivation is the reason we have for doing or behaving in a certain way. And our motivation to reach success can be driven by the pleasure reward center within our brain.

This center rewards us; with feels of pleasure; based on our individual motivational factor. There are three types.

Extrinsic: meaning external from ourselves. Extrinsic motivating factors could be money, praise, recognition or fame; or avoiding punishment of some kind; to name a few. Anything that we could benefits us, externally could be considered a extrinsic motivating factor.

Intrinsic rewards are internal motivating factors. The way we feel when we know we have done a good job. Intrinsic rewards often include the things we do for our own enjoyment. Exercise to feel good, clean the house to feel organized, become a master at something because you enjoy it. Intrinsic motivators are often value driven because we understand that living within our values makes us happy and removes stress.

Why? Because values are definers. When we know black from white we know the decision that must be made to stay either in the black or in the white. there is no gray area. Our brain loves what it knows and feels calm when it makes a decision.

Values often result in decisions that are aligned to purpose and that makes us feel good.

And number three is addiction. yes addiction is also a motivator. Why? Addiction is a demand for pleasure. A bi-pass to the natural purpose of the pleasure principle" of our brain function. Addiction becomes a strong motivator of behavior.

And as you already know, motivation requires fuel. And knowing that we can fuel each one of these processes, how can we use this to our advantage for reaching our goals?

But you have heard this all before I'm sure. And you're thinking it didn't work in the past why should it work now. As Einstein said, doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result is fool hearty.

What else could be stopping one from reaching success! The number one factor, self limiting beliefs! There in a nutshell is the reason why many people fail. The emotional baggage of the past is blocking their way as sure as a land slide.

And the patterns continue to repeat and they wonder why? I have witnessed and lived a repeated pattern. And it isn't fun or funny. Finally I took a deep look at myself and made the decision to not only learn but to grow.

And I believe and know now that anything is possible. We were never meant to live with emotional pain. It isn't all that hard to remove it from our lives! I can hear you laugh out loud, but I'm here to tell you NLP has proven and effective tools to kick that crap out of the mind.

How? we used to think that we need to work it out. Understand and do the work. But neuroscience now teaches us the every emotion is connected to physiology. So how does that help? We set the stage for changing the physiology.

You probably have witnessed or even sent the misbehaving child outside to wear off a bit of steam. And they come back happy and played out. Well essential our you set the environment for changing physiology. Raise heart rate respiration and body temperature is enough to set aside a mental state.

And I know you're saying well that worked for today but it didn't remove it entirely. the pattern will repeat. But what happened if we were more intentional.

In an intentional session we recall the emotion and then play a little game that focuses the mind

Because motivation burns like the fuel in your car or the food in your belly. It only lasts for a period of time and then it requires more. More fuel, more food for motivation.

So what kind of fuel does motivation require? call me and we'll figure it out together. #nlpcoach #motivation #inspiration #goalsetting #success #nlp #mindscience @fuelyourlife #makingdreams
