I'm your host, Jani Roberts. Let's do this.

Jani Roberts:

Welcome, my friends to another episode of living in alignment, these inspirational conversations for living in alignment are designed to support us in the process of experiencing more of what we want in our lives and less of what we don't. Today, we're going to be talking about what it means to be awakened. You might have heard this said slightly differently, could be referred to as spiritual or intellectual enlightenment, being woke, waking up, it's almost as though we've, we've been snoozing through life. And suddenly, we are awakened to what really matters to us, and how we truly want to live our lives, the intentions that we came into this life experience with, and how we're going to test that. So again, you've probably heard about spiritual awakenings, and how this can lead to a more full life, a sense of completeness, a sense of peace. So how do we achieve this? Where does this come from? What stimulates this awakening? For many of the people that I've worked with, they have shared with me that it's almost a nirvana. You know, there's, there's a bliss kind of triggered that happens. And suddenly, they're having an aha moment. And saying no to a lot of nonsense. So you know, just releasing the bullshit, and stepping into their power and going, you know, what I'm done with that. I'm done with this, whatever it might be, I'm, I've I can feel a shift. I'm a different person. Now, I have a different view, there's just something that has changed within me. And perhaps I can't even put my finger on what it is, or what specifically happened. It's almost always connected to some kind of change. It might be something that's really life altering, like a big aha moment, it could be something really subtle, it could be a situation where, you know, it's been kind of building, and suddenly, boom, you're there. So there really are no rules around this, it can simply be, it just happens. Now, you may be thinking, well bring it on, you know, I want that to happen to me. Like right now, in this moment. I'm done with all of it. Fair enough. But timing is everything. And a lot of times people have shared with me that these awakenings or this feeling of being woke actually followed some type of trauma. It might have been a pandemic, it could be some type of what we would refer to as a midlife crisis. There could be some type of mental health challenge, such as depression or anxiety or even, you know, perhaps you're in intense car accident. And you know, it, this triggers something within us where we say, something's got to change. And it's almost involuntary. Because we just feel this sense of peace and no matter what, we're not giving it up. We've connected to it. We've owned it, and now it's ours. And people may even, you know, look at us a bit funny and go What's your deal, man? Why you're so different. Why are you so this or that fill in the blank? And we you know, we don't even want to explain it. We don't feel like we need to justify it. We're just, this is where I am now. I'm choosing to release what doesn't serve me and embrace what does and I want to be joyful in my life. I'm over it. I am awake. Now personally, when I was in my late 20s, I had a moment like this, I was in a very serious car accident, I've shared this with you before, where I did flatline, technically checked out briefly and had quite an experience, you know, come to Jesus moment, if you will. And it definitely changed my perspective, I moved into this state of gratitude, I wasn't really taking care of myself the way I should have, or could have, or really wanted to, wasn't treating myself with the worthiness that I deserved. And therefore I moved into that. I also moved out of it, but it did serve me in my throughout my entire life. But But these things do come and go, we have to nurture this awakening, and we have to understand that this is something that we can maintain. And it's also something we can abuse and lose track of or control of, if we don't honor, this aha, that we've experienced. Now, whatever it is, that causes this shift, it could be you listening to this podcast today, it doesn't have to be a, you know, a near death experience. It can be, as I mentioned earlier, it's very subtle, but it's been coming. And then this one thing occurs and, and you're there, and you're suddenly looking at everything from a different perspective. So prior to this happening to me, I was feeling somewhat disconnected. I was frustrated with my career. And I didn't, I didn't know what to do, I was just, I was basically just lost and wandering around, as we do. You know, as a young woman, in my late 20s, I had been married and been divorced, I have moved around quite a bit. And you know, was really chasing my dreams, around art. And again, I just, I was lost, I felt like I was like a needle in a haystack. And I really didn't know, I didn't have a mentor, I didn't know what to do to achieve the goals that these powerful, powerful passions and intentions that I had, I just didn't know how to do it. And I, while I was feeling very spiritually connected, very grounded to source, I still felt lost at the same time. Interesting, right? So there was an immaturity in my life experience, and I was just finding my way as, as most young people do. Now, I started to really look at this experience this what many people would consider a traumatic experience and it was, but as a gift, because one I couldn't believe I was still alive that was like, wow, this is amazing. I'm still here. I'm not quite sure how I pulled that off. And the second thing was, now what? So there was this intense amount of appreciation and gratitude? And an even bigger question mark as to what really matters and what comes next. I experienced a lot of deja vu. And I started to feel my relationships change. They were suddenly transparent. I started to realize that a lot of people that I considered my friends I really had no attachment to, I started to realize that the relationship that I was currently in was going nowhere, didn't mean it wasn't fun. And I didn't have a great time. And I didn't learn anything from it. But it wasn't what I wanted. And I felt even more connected to source and that was driving me now in a new direction where I was really tapping into my own intuition, my own natural gifts of not only intuition, but but really just into my own soul that was really connecting with myself. So this was big stuff, and I wasn't really quite sure what to do with it, but I played in it. And I started to allow myself to ask simple things like what if, what if I could do this? What if I could move there? What if I why not?

Jani Roberts:

And it also triggered a question as to you know, what is what is my purpose kind of question? Why am I really here? And what do I really want? And I knew what I really wanted, but I'd been kind of hiding from it. So I'm not sure if any of this is resonating with you. I feel that it is because I think we've all been through these types of things. And if we haven't, we're ready to, we want a shift. We want change, we want things to be easier, more peaceful, more joyful, more fun, definitely more fun. I mean, again, who do you meet that goes, I just had way too much fun. My life just needs to not be so much fun, not not so joyful. No one, no one says these things, right. I also knew that I, I had been fortunate enough to attract some teachers, some mentors into my experience, and that I needed to tap into them more intensely to learn from them. And so I sought them out. And I was dealing with some serious physical limitations at the time. So it was key that I could find people who could empower me past this trauma, if you will. And during moments of isolation, we talked about this last week, you know, no one really understands what you're going through kind of isolation moments. This is when I was really connecting to those who could help me I was asking for help, probably for the first time in my life. So this is a big part of being awake, is understanding that you can tap into your ancestors, all of them, anytime you want, they are waiting to support you and guide you. I mean, how cool is that? And you know, you might be going well, that sounds like bullshit. That's very woowoo. Think about it. There have been people in your life that are no longer physically here. And you still feel a connection to them. And perhaps at the time, when they transitioned, you really were feeling them. The only reason those feelings fade is because we don't activate them, we can tap into that anytime. Now think about this. These are souls who have access to Infinite Intelligence. Why don't we ask them for help more? Maybe because we're simply asleep to the fact we have it woke to the fact that they're right here. 24/7 waiting, because they're not just going to dive into your life and disrupt it, they will come if they are asked, they will help if they are asked. They will guide with permission. Wow. So being awake, to who we truly are, which is love. process it. I'll say it again. Who you are is love. Now, the beliefs that you might have around that. No, I was always told on that piece of shit. No, I was always told I'm not worthy. No, that's I don't know who you're talking about. But that's not me. I was never told I was smart enough to do anything with my life. You don't understand how I grew up. I get it. These are all beliefs that are ingrained. But you know, that that's what this practice is all about is about looking at your thoughts, looking at your beliefs, looking at your patterns of behavior, and choosing to identify the ones that serve you and the ones that don't, and create some new thoughts and new beliefs and new patterns of behavior and therefore a new reality. And in order to do this, we had a wake up. We have to wake up so that we can transform so that we can step into our power. And yeah, everything changes. And some of the relationships that we have will simply fade away as a result of us stepping into our power and our awakeness or awareness to our truth. We are naturally when in an aware awake, woke state, going to be more empathetic to others we are going to exude compassion. We are going to feel judgment fade away and feel love and appreciation and compassion flow in to who we are and into our life experience. This is just waking up to our truth. This is always been there. But again, if we're not nurturing it, then it fades aides are just simply ignorant to it. We're just not aware that it's even possible. So We're gonna start questioning everything. When we start waking up on this journey, whoa, what about this? What about that? What about what he said? She said mom said Dad said teacher said, daughter said, all of that. What about that? What about that pain? What about that trauma? Yeah, we're going to start looking at all of that we're not going to sit in it. We don't need to relive it. It's not necessary to heal. But what is necessary is to move into a space of self love and awareness and awake pneus. Now, it can be very difficult when you've hit what many call rock bottom. But whenever we come into a space where there's so much contrast, we can't breathe, we're really backed into a corner. This is where massive, massive awareness can take place. This is where we start to question everything. I spent some time in Japan. And they refer to this type of thing. It times as comprehension. Seeing into one's Oh, how did my trainer say it into our truth. So we begin to not only recognize, but we begin to honor, we stepping into that power, we see and feel and taste and understand our gifts. And we know that living our truth is not an option. And it's exciting. We begin to get extraordinarily excited about our now. And all that has happened up until our now and all that is coming. Because it's like it's like hitting a restart button for your entire life. We're actually able to finally let go of all that bullshit. And therefore it has no power. And we step into a life of clarity, which brings that peace and enables us to connect with others and serve others as we serve ourselves, too, to no longer live in fear that there's not enough to go around, and that we're not worthy of all that we desire. So welcome to awareness to awakeness This is where you will begin to practice this self love and compassion and be kind to yourself through this process. Be easy about this. Be sweet as you would be to a small child, or to you know, as soon as it's so easy for us to be kind to others and just so impatient with ourselves, this is our time to be kind, compassionate, and loving to ourselves. This is an exciting time, and I could not be more excited to be on this journey with you. The time is now wake up. And let's get this life party started. Until next time, guys, I have nothing but love for you. I will be sending you joy, peace and a huge amount of energy that is designed to encourage you to step in to your truth and wake it up. Let's rock this party. Until next time, Much Love Peace
