Am I a problem drinker?

In today's episode I discuss how to ask if you are a problem drinker, heavy drinker or grey area drinker? Often times we allow denial to veil our "issue" because of fear of being or becoming and addict. The social stigma of addiction hinders our abilities to even evaluate our relationship with alcohol because we feel shame even thinking about it. So if you feel there is an "issue" whether or not it's addiction this episode is for you.

Here are 3 takeaways:

  1. Get honest with yourself about how you feel about your drinking and what effects it is having on you.
  2. Look closely at the thoughts you are having on an evening you choose not to drink. See if you are forcing yourself not to grab that glass and pour a drink. This is important because as your relationship with alcohol becomes more dependent you will struggle more and more with moderating or abstaining.
  3. I give you guys 10 questions to ask yourself to see if you are a problem drinker, remember this is for YOU, it is not submitted to anyone so please be honest here. The only person you hurt by not answering truthfully is you.
