Many small businesses don’t want to spend the money on legal work until they know their business is going to stick. But what if the business is a success beyond your expectations, and the legal work you’ve put off puts the very existence of your business at risk? That’s exactly what happened to my guest, Asia Marie Woods. After growing a successful business as an entrepreneur, she had to walk away from it all. She may have lost her first big deal in business, but she didn’t lose her spirit. Instead, she channeled it into law school and now in her work making sure that what happened to her business never happens to her clients, as well as in being an advocate for single mothers who are looking to improve their family’s financial future.
In this episode, I talk with Asia about her experience of starting a business, going to law school as a single mom, how someone without legal knowledge can pick the right attorney for them, and now how she helps new business owners ensure they have their legal ducks in a row.
