Hi, and thanks so much for joining me. My name is Linda Hunt. I am an award winning accessibility consultant, a speaker, author, and now a podcaster. The show is called Accessibility Solutions making the world accessible, which really is my goal in a perfect world, the world would be accessible for everyone. That is not the case, unfortunately. But we're going to talk a lot about from a business perspective, why it's going to give you a competitive advantage to be accessible. And the fact that 22% of the population has some form of a disability, and that percentage is only going to increase as the population ages. Because the incidence of disability increases. As the population ages, the listener can expect to get some tips, tricks, inspiration on how making your business accessible will give you a competitive advantage, and will open yourself up to that 22% of the population that we just talked about. format for the show is really going to be a combination of me sharing a lot of my learnings that I've done in workshops, conferences, and speaking events over the years, sharing rules and regulations that you must be in compliance with.
Linda Hunt:But we're also going to be talking to some guest speakers that are also going to be able to shed light on some of the necessary considerations in order for your business to be accessible. So I'm glad to be able to introduce myself to you. As I said, my name is Linda Hunt. I am an award winning accessibility consultant, and speaker, author and podcaster. I am the treasurer of citizens with disabilities, Ontario. I'm a member of the Rick Hansen foundation accessibility professional network. And I'm also a certified community champion for the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. And it's optional protocol, we're going to get much more into where all of these things intersect with accessibility in the show. So join me weekly for accessibility solutions. And learn how accessibility is good for your business, the economy, the entire population, and how making the world accessible is a goal for not only me, but for the 22% of the population that has a disability.
